FOCAL BEAD PENDANT - Beginner Wire Wrapped Jewelry Frame Pendant Tutorial

  • Hi friends! I've had several asking for a tutorial on simple shaping, hammering, and sanding, so I created this sweet pendant tutorial. It uses a top, side-drilled, focal gemstone bead, but I designed the frame in such a way that you could also substitute it with a cabochon of a similar shape.
    I show a new bale design which I feel is easy for the beginner to construct and versatile as it sets you up for either a pendant bale loop or for earring loops. The matching earring tutorial is coming soon, so keep an eye out! Tools and Materials for this video are listed in the front of the video.
    Time Stamps
    Tools needed: 0:08
    Wire needed: 0:13
    Gemstone needed and source: 0:18
    TUTORIAL starts: 0:23
    For enthusiastic beginners who have not wire wrapped before, you might start with a drilled gemstone bead so you can use wire to help you hold onto and frame the gemstone.
    For those who have worked with cabochon (stones without holes), you should be able to easily see how you can still use the tutorial.
    Have fun! I'd love to hear from you and see what you've created, so please follow me on FB and Insta!

    OMG, I LOVE IT !!! I have never attempted a pendant with so much hammering (only weaving and wire sculpting) but this pendant is so amazing. Every time that I thought you were finished (a few times) you just kept right on making it more beautiful and elegant. Thank you for creating and sharing this amazing tutorial. I can't wait to try it.

      Good morning! Thank you so much, I love that you love my tutorial! The easiest way is to tie on a beautiful gemstone beads or even metal beads... I like to use 28 gauge, it fits most small holes. Center your bead on the wire, then use the ends to wrap your bead onto the frame. If the hole is large enough, you could also use 26g. Let me know if that helps you.

    Hi Izzy, I'm a new subscriber. I really enjoy your tutorials and particularly how you show your hands moving and holding the stone and wire and you do it deliberately slowly -thank you! Will you be doing a video to show us how you draw and plan a design on paper or whatever tool you use? I'm struggling with how to preserve my own designs so I can repeat them. Any tips would be very appreciated.

    • @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry

      Hi! Welcome! Thanks for subscribing! I used to sketch on grid paper, but now I mostly video everything. I use video for both my design 'documentation' as well as making some of them tutorials for you all 😁💞 I hope that answers your question.

    What an amazing piece of jewelry!!! 😍😍😍 I am trying to figure out how to make it with a cabochon without a hole..... Do you think it would work? I only have cabochons without holes but I really love this design and want to try making it 💜💜💜 Thank you for your nice tutorials, they are really great and helpful 💚💚💚💚

    • @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry
      @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry  Před 2 lety +4

      You can do it! I designed this pendant to use a focal bead for the newbie, but it will take a cabochon easily. You might add an additional decorative wire if your stone is large but otherwise, the wrap should hold it the same. Have fun and please let me know how it work out for you.

  • @jazzy_jz
    @jazzy_jz Před 2 lety

    This looks really nice! I wonder, do we need to hammer? Can we use round wires instead? And if we use a stone without a hole, is it the same process just without using the 26 gauge wire? Thank you so much!

    • @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry
      @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry  Před 2 lety

      Thanks again! You don't have to hammer and round wire will work yes. You can use a cabochon rather than a drilled bead with this design, you are correct, just do all the same, except tying it on with the 26g. Have fun! Find me on FB or Instagram and show me your beauties, I'd love to see.

    well, towards the end of all this I saw that I missed the part that the stone was drilled, tried incorporating Quinn to hold the stone to little avail, don't have any soft copper yet, supposed to be here today..

    Would this work with a triangle shaped stone?

    • @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry
      @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry  Před rokem

      I can imagine that it would but you'd certainly need to modify some. As long as the triangle is similar in size to the stone in the video, it might work out. Have fun! You might do a trial on copper wire and a triangle first then go to silver if it works out.

      Hi Julie, this is the full step by step tutorial, the other duplicate one is too, but the audio was messed up so I redid it but don't know how to replace one with the other, I hate to delete my videos if people already bookmarked them, so ... that's why there is another 'version' of this here. It's just audio, both are the same step by step process for the tutorial.
