good job on sourcing the best value for your community! Epson makes some great 10k lumens and above projectors at a great price point too. But given that most churches’ hang points are difficult to access, a laser low maintenance model would make a lot of sense.
We use a panasonic 6500 lumen Laser projector. It's discontinued now. Everyones situation is unique but your projector and lens choice will be based on ambient light, distance to screen and size of final image. Well the main things that dampen in our room are the big black curtain, the carpet, and the chairs. We do have some sound panels on the wall as well.

This projector has a shorter throw ish lens on it. Currently we still have this setup but when we do the full remodel we are looking into LED Wall.

We just bought the right one for our throw distance. They have options.
