- Countless Dutch bikes are dredged from Amsterdam canals using a crane and barge. How did hundreds of lost and stolen vintage bicycles or "omafiets" get in the canals?... no one knows.
Many other sunken treasures were discovered in the canals of Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

@weeardguy - We do have the same problem in Switzerland with bikes found grounded in our lakes.If think gold barres would raise more attraction and keep cleaner conditions!

Well alot of those bikes are stolen so they dump the bike in the canal btw im from thw Netherlands.

why arent riders trained to ride better?? Seems to me many who drove off into the canal are lucky to have survived to swim ashore. And if it were me, id return with rope and friends to save my bicycle
Only tourist fall in 😂😂. And I think 90% of the bicycle in the canals are thrown in by people on purpose. Come to Holland one day and try to bike in traffic😉. Oh and don’t bring your 45colt, they’re illegal around here.
