The Gwen hatred blows my mind, she fucked up she knows she fucked up now all she wants to do is fix it and save the man she loves. This is what we call a character arc and hers was incredible to watch.
It's like people are just refusing to acknowledge that 🙄
I feel like the reason why she gets so much hate is because of how she handled things with miles. I agree with most people that her difficult situation justifies her actions to an extent. It is her decision to go see miles that I have a problem with. Not only did she disobey Miguel’s orders and visit miles (as we found out from Jess), but she also went knowing that she would never be able to face him again after and that she would be lying to him. She then proceeded to show shockingly little regret for abandoning her friend after the fact and treats miles pretty unfairly given the fact that he has no idea what he did wrong.
If you really think about it, if any other spider person but Gwen had gone to miles dimension, they probably would have stopped the spot right then and there so spot would have never even made it to pavs dimension meaning he never would have gotten more powerful and messed up Pavs world and Miles likely would not even be in this situation.
I get that she will fix it but I honestly would not blame Miles if he does not put up with it at first.

@@ashenwinds3906 Yep. Miles arc literally requires him getting broken/darker before it gets better. That's literally the point of Earth 42 and Miles Prowler. The Prowler is his version of Green Goblin and/or Venom. Miles Prowler is Miles equivalent of the Symbiote Suit not basic cloth but Bully Maguire. Things can't get immediately better it has to be dark.
If Gwen did that to you…would you easily forgive her? The hate is kinda understandable
If they do get together it’ll be such a triumph for Gwen Stacy as a character. She’s always been the Spider-Man franchise’s tragic girl who rarely gets happy endings, so I’m hoping this will finally be it for her.
I truly believe that they will definitely be together. I know that right after ATSV there is a rough patch but Miles will forgive Gwen eventually and I think that Gwen just needs to pour her heart out to Miles and tell him everything. That was generally what held her back - not being able to express feelings at some points.
I think she was already in love at the end of ATSV and in some part of the beginning. All she needs to do is tell Miles everything and that she loves him and wants to be with him.
Them being together would make this Trilogy one of the best love stories out there. I trust that Lord and Miller all know what the audience wants and I speak for most when I say mainly everyone wants them together.
Both Gwen's and Miles' character arc continue to develop in their own way: Miles will never let anyone decide who he will be, and Gwen stops being the protector of the people she loves. According to the analysis, Gwen now takes Miles as a role model and begins to enter stage 3 - synthesizing responsibility and love, which means she can both fulfill her duty as a spiderman and 'loves' people she loves the most, so it could be possible that the heartbreaking nature of Miles and Gwen can be changed (which the whole movie is about defining fate). It would be wonderful and perfect if they end up together, and I'm very curious to see how the writers will handle that.
How about instead of taking Miles as a role model, she views him as an equal?

Nobody lives in a bubble Miles has already been defined by Aaron, His Parents and like it or not the Spiders from Gwen to Peter to Miguel. Then the film literally ends with himself a Prowler...You really think that same notion of nobody applies when it's another version of you?
It's not as simple as you're laying out. They're not done providing plot twists and counterpoints.

In the next movie I really hope both of them reconcile in some way possible: Gwen and Miles really love each other, even though they are both from different dimensions. It is obvious that they both like each other and even all the characters notice it. Also, I don't think it's such an impossible love: it's incredible that Gwen's spider sense in the first movie took her to the Visions Academy where she met Miles and then in the second movie it warns her when he is in danger in the wrong dimension. They are like soulmates. Also, I don't think there is any "canon event" as to how she would die if she fell in love with Miles, as Miles said: "there is always a first time for everything."
Man I hope those two share an epic kiss during a huge battle with the Spider-Society kinda like when Arthur and Mera kissed each other in Aquaman.

I think it’s definitely possible for Miles and Gwen to end up together and I really hope it happens. Even Lord & Miller recently said that they’re aiming to make Beyond the Spider-Verse a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy so it wouldn’t make sense if their relationship ended in tragedy or on bittersweet terms.

It seems very possible for Gwen and Miles to be together, since the connection that they have seems so strong, their destiny's seem like they're somehow alterd from the cannon events that take place throughout the multiverse.

Your one of the first channels to point out they have a special connection through different dimensions (which is how she was able to sense he was in a different dimension at the end of the movie) these two have something real special and definitely need to be together in the next one

Agreed. It wouldn’t be a satisfying end imo for miles or Gwen if they don’t end up together. The writers most likely figured that we would guess the ending being these two together. So, they probably created all of these hardships to plant doubt in our minds and keep us guessing so when they actually do bring them together, it’ll be very satisfying. Thus making these very good movies.
They will be together but Miles will snap at her for keeping secrets from him. And out of Anger for knowing he wasn't meant to be Spider-Man and that she's the reason he realises about it because she saw him when she wasn't supposed to. Then after he let's that get out of his system and once against just except he IS Spider-Man. And he's the Anomily who can make stories better than what their supposed to be.

Gwen only mentions that in every universe Gwen Stacy always falls for Spider-Man but the thing is that in every universe it was always with Peter not with Miles, so because of that I can see Gwen and Miles winding up together without breaking the Canon, if there is a Canon which I don't believe to exist to be honest

I believe that “canon events” can be overwritten without destroying reality, we saw that with Gwen’s dad, and we even saw it in Spider-Man no way home when Peter save the villains who were “destined to die”. So I agree with Miles when when he tells Gwen “there’s a first time for everything” because we can create our own destinies if we are willing to try. I don’t know why some of the other universes unraveled, but I don’t think it was because of “canon events” changing.

I’m expecting Madam Web to be involved in some facet regarding these continuity hiccups in the multiverse. The fact she hasn’t appeared given her role in the mythos only shows she’s got a big moment incoming, or, at least, that’s what I think. I have a hard time thinking it will end with Miles never getting to see his friends again.
There's a Madame Web film coming. She's already hinted at in ATSV...The school counselor has her name and even hair style. She was asking who Miles really is (what's with this Anomaly?), what's his goal in life (what's his Destiny?), She even told him THAT'S YOUR STORY (Figured out your Canonicity)...Miles accidentally wished to learn from the Prowler's.
Also if it's not just an allegory if it is Madame Web...Miles is indeed an Anomaly that's a fact he wasn't supposed to exist even the Spider Gods don't exactly know what to make of him but they actually are fine with him because he literally saved the Entire Multiverse in ITSV. Also completely unconcerned with the Spot...Like that's either further impact that everyone invalidates the Spot until he's a walking horror or the Gods know Miles n Co will defeat him.
I'm postive these two will end up together and they will ultimately patch things up....

Well, I'm glad that Gwen is getting out of Peter's shadow, getting her own fully realized character outside of being his dead girlfriend, and has a chance at actually finding happiness and love without dying.
To me, Gwen Stacy of the regular comics universe and Gwen Stacy of Earth-65 are two completely different people. And I'm glad 65 Gwen is moving on from Peter Parker.
Did you notice Gwen’s head movement and slight hesitation as she’s telling miles he’s the only friend she’s ever made since Peter? Followed by her basically saying what she means with her Gwen Stacy in every universe comment? I think she was telling miles he was different because she had fallen in love with him or was just about to get there.
Think about it - 1. she opens up only to miles and sees him as her escape to the darkness she’s had in her life. She’s got a whole society filled with spiderman and yet she tells miles “how many people can you talk to about this stuff?”, after telling miles it’s always so great to talk to him. Even though she hadn’t interacted with him in almost 2 years. 2. She’s got a buddy named hobie who she even was crashing with, and yet she says she doesn’t consider hobie a friend. 3. She gets jealous when miles talks to spider byte. 4. She starts to cry when miles throws her comment at her, thinking she was doing him dirty with the whole dad dying thing. 5. She fights hard for miles after he escapes to a point where she completely sides with him and gets herself kicked out. 6. She tries to use the watch again but only to go to Miles’ dimension, only to get super angry when she learns she could no longer use her watch. 7. She speaks with miles’ parents, assures the father it isn’t his fault miles is missing but hers aka taking responsibility for her actions, expresses how miles has changed her mindset and the effect he’s had on her, and promises to look for him and even deliver a message from his mom. 8. She assembles a team just to find and save miles.
Sorry for the long comment but, it’s clear that Gwen loves miles. It’s clear he’s not just some friend. Heck, she probably even recognizes that they have a bond that goes further than mere feelings and she will probably mention this to him in the next film. She might even beg for his forgiveness and fight for him until he forgives her.
If they had child like in the comic they did then that child would defend of 2 unveres
What Gwen was seeing was a reference to Kravens last hunt and that was her version of crawling out the grave of being buried alive

@@user-xh2nm3xz8x I don't think so. Beyond is already chock full of stuff that needs to happen and get resolved. Venom is and entire movie level problem to face. There would not be enough time to solve Miles Venom problem and reconcile with Gwen. So the only way we'll see venom is in a variant of Miles or Gwen, and prob not then either.

I think Miguel's experience in having 'his' world disintegrate was a volatile anomaly (as opposed to Miles being an anomaly too, but a harmless one), because they are each meant to be in their OWN dimensions, and he literally chose to live out a life in a dimension that he essentially didn't belong to. there was an imbalance. that doesn't mean everyone else is going to die and has to follow the same exact algorithm lol (see: Gwen's father quitting. Miles getting bit instead of Peter). he just made up his own path but unfortunately it was the wrong move and it traumatised him.
Peter was never going to be bitten...Miles Prowler was meant to be bitten. They switched fates.
I don't think the idea that being too long in another dimension can destabilize and destroy it. If that were the case, Nueva York should have unraveled long ago because hundreds if not thousands of extra-dimensional Spiders are there all the time.
They've got a little Room to grow but but here's hoping we At the very least get a kissing scene in next movie

MY theory that I made while watching the movie for the first time was that in the one scene where Miguel is explaining the canon, we see these red different webs. So what if when they broke the canon instead of these little red webs everywhere it will be ONE big web instead. In that way it would be easier to travel through the multiverse. It was just something I thought of, there's no back ups for that. At least nothing that I saw in the movie so....yeah thx for reading. sorry if it didn't make sense
I don’t believe that Miles and Gwen were meant to be apart. If the canon has mapped out everything in a Spider-Person’s lives, then surely them meeting the other Spider-People, travelling through dimensions and saving people there would also be part of that canon. They were destined to meet. And though they can’t stay in the same universe since they have their own universe to protect and live in, they can definitely be together.
I think the beauty of Miles and Gwen's relationship is that it was *not* their destiny. Destiny wants to keep them apart. Destiny is what they are fighting against when they *choose* to be together.
@@dgmillowayyou’ve got it backwards my friend. Destiny actually is on their side, and we see if because of the connection they’ve both got that goes beyond mere feelings for one another. Examples being Gwen’s spider sense sending her to miles’ school before he even got bitten, and Gwen sensing miles in the second film twice when he’s in a whole other dimension. If they’re given a reason to be connected that goes outside of just infatuation or feelings for one another, it means an outside force is drawing them to each other. Aka destiny. They go so for in the second film as to risk their lives in more than one way, just to be with one another. Gwen risked being kicked out of the society and thrown back to her dimension to face her pops, just to spend an hour or so with miles. She then fights for him after he escapes and sides with him completely, getting herself kicked out of the society. Something that would’ve turned her entire life upside down. Very rarely would someone do what she did when their life is already in a very crappy place like hers was. Yet, she did it. Then miles follows her to pav’s dimension. He eventually regrets it because he thinks she planned against him with Miguel, but nonetheless he did follow her and left his own home and life behind just to be with her. Sure he wanted to help her too but it’s clear he mostly wanted to be with her. Even pav noticed that. So yeah, there’s a whole lot going on with the two than just mere feelings. They can’t just stay as friends imo, there is too much of a romantic build up with them after this second movie.
Don’t forget that miles got Gwen to open up almost immediately. Something no one was able to do. And she was drawn to him even before he got bit,meaning there was something there that wasn’t just having the spider powers thing in common. Heck, writers themselves said they were gonna kiss as the end of the first film. And we see that in the beginning of the second film when she’s puckering her lips as soon as she falls into the portal, after her good bye.

Destiny is the bad guy in this movie. Destiny (as represented by the idea of canon) is what Miles is fighting against against. Destiny wants to kill Miles' dad. Gwen's destiny is to die a horrible death if she falls in love with Spider-Man/Miles, which is why she refuses to take his hand Even tho she desperately wants to. Belief that destiny must be obeyed is what drives them apart in the end, and it's Gwen's change of heart, due to Miles' shining example, that she comes to believe that destiny is not written in stone. That it can be defied. That all things are now possible for her and she can write her own story.
If destiny continued to work as it should, Miles and Gwen would never have met. They would still be in their own dimensions unwittingly playing out their pre-planned canon events. But disruptions in the canon b/c of King Pin's collider brought them together and their love and care for each other keeps bringing them back into each other's orbit.
Miles & Gwen have a connection that defies destiny and together they are going to face it down and save Miles' dad, and Gwen will finally let herself fall in love and they will navigate her canon event together to ensure she survives it when it comes.
There will be a spiderman fanatic revolution if they don't end together.
I love how so much work Isaac puts into making these videos for us. His dedication made me more of a disney fan and now even more of a spidey fan!

Video idea‼️: Does Miles have an MJ? If so how would Miles & Gwen getting together effect her canon? Or does he not have an MJ or any of the spiderman canon characters because he technically wasn't supposed to be bit so the stuff that usually happens to spiderman wont happen to him because he wasn't supposed to be spiderman (if thats the case then Miguel is wrong about Miles dad dying because if he wasn't supposed to be spiderman then his dad will never die from a normal spiderman canon event & Gwen wont die either) OR does him being bitten by the spider completely change & rewrite his future since he became spiderman by accident, so all the canon events will happen to him now instead of universe 42 Miles, (im not talking comics im talking the movie)
Miles Morales is the MJ in the relationships he has. His girlfriends are the Gwen Stacy and Black Cat personalities. Or just completely new personality types.
Miles 42 suffered ASM 90...So nope the Canon Events are not all applied to Miles 1610B. The two Miles's switched roles/mantles/fates...But my guess is they still have the Canon Events of what they were originally supposed to be.
The biggest issue with Gwen's Death's being a canon event that could be activated by being with Miles makes no sense when Miguel explained what being an anomaly means he doesn't follow the canon.
He can easily avoid canon events in his world without risking the canon.
This being the case... why would he be the reason for her canon event?
That would mean her canon event relies on another universe interfering in her universe.
And the only way that works is if it's supposed to be caused by Earth 42 Miles, which has been proven non viable due to the fact he never became Earth 42's Spider-Man because of King Pin's experiment.
Canon events still happened on his Earth, like his dad dying, but would that mean Gwen going to Earth 42 causes her canon event death?

Are you saying that if Gwen goes to Earth-42 then Miles will have to not only save his father but also Gwen?
That does not seem to be the case. Miguel is saying that he is an illegitimate Spider-Man, that the way he got his powers was dangerous and went against the natural order of things, but he is still technically a Spider-Man and subject to canon events. We know this because he already had one with the death of his Uncle Aaron.
Love your videos. This movie is so amazing.
Them being from two different universes might make their love sound impossible, but maybe that will the goal, to prove that they can indeed be together despite being in two different worlds. I think it'd be very intresting to see how the idea that Migule has about the multiverse and the rules that must be followed be broken and changed in the next movie.
As Gwen said: "Miles showed me that it was *all* possible." So yeah, I think they will manage to overcome the obstacle of being from two different universes.

That is true in the comics. We do not know for sure if that is true of this Miguel variant. Jess Drew also was not bitten by a spider in mainline comics, but this Jess Drew is a variant and very well could have been. It would be nice for the story to address this and clear it up.

I mean they both are deeply in love with each other and want to be together. Gwen turns pink (which means love)every time she is around miles especially after she said ur amazing at 4:39 and plus he is always trying to impress her.
This is my theory: There are similarities between the movies and comics in this trilogy. Based on the comics, on earth-8 Miles and Gwen do get their happy ending despite them being from two different universes, both were part of a team and happen to be happily married and have kids. Now look at the film, miles and Gwen from different universes, both were part of a team in the first and most likely will be in BTSV. Now its heavily unlikely they will get married and have kids but it’s not impossible because in the comics spider ham is the uncle of their kids and who does miles and Gwen know spider ham. Bottom line is, Miles and Gwen will break the canon event because they are meant to be together as earth-8 is heavily implied to be the future of earth-65.
Seriously, what an amazing love story and plus these two lines sold it for me that they will be together at the end.

One thing I learnt from miles… It’s all possible- Gwen.
Gwen is a Spiderman of her universe she isn’t destined to die like Gwen’s of alternate universes who do not become the spiderman of their universe. It is likely that the Gwen of Miles universe 1610 is dead and suffered the same fate as many Gwen’s across the canon.
Agreed about the 1610 Gwen. She probably died due to that universe's Spider-Man since he was already married to MJ. Canonically, Gwen is his first love. So most likely both she and her father are dead. (Man, the multi-verse really hates the Stacys.)
What I don't understand about this movie is why is it, that on Earth 2099, some of the spider people, particularly Spider Punk and Lego Spider Man, look different than the rest of the spider people, even when they're in the same dimension. Even one of the prisoners is live action instead of animated
*Earth 928B. They're from different dimensions where the building blocks of life are different. They stay as they're. Gwen stays Mood Aura that Pink isn't highlights it's literally her glowing Love, Noir stays Black n White, Miles stays Comic like, Live Actions stay Live Actions, Video Games stay their models. Lego is literally Building Blocks.
That’s why Miles and Gwen’s relationship of built up I can believe and take seriously because there are certain qualities about the other that the other is drawn to; something that is either missing from their lives or a pain in their current lives that seems to healed by the other’s influence. Many built up of relationships I can never take seriously these days. For example, Aang and Katara from avatar. That relationship I can’t take seriously and their development to get together is so cliche and predictable.
Why is Gwen drawn to Miles? Gwen avoids friends because she is afraid that getting an attachment would further out that person in harm’s way. She refuses to confront her father and follows the spider society to not only escape her father but to she believes that since her father’s fate is coming she follows the society blindly. It is until miles does something that Gwen never did: Take a chance to not believe that the canon is 100 percent fate and should allow to happen. After her father quits and won’t be captain it is that moment that miles’ way to take action would not guarantee the canon as 100 perfect supposed to be. Miles making her realize that is one of the contributing factors as to why she is drawn to him.
I’ve been watching so much Spider verse videos & this is the icing on top. And Canon Events Are 100% Cap 🧢
They can't be complete crap because the events keep happening across the dimensions. The issue is why does this happen and what does it have to do with universes unraveling.
The idea that disrupting a canon event damages or destroys the universe has to be flawed. We just don't know exactly how yet.

Since Gwen is a spider person, I don’t think her dying after falling in love with Miles would be a "canon event". All the other Gwen's don't have superpowers and the duty of protecting their own world, I think that’s why they might die. I write "might" because after researching some theories about Miguel O'Hara and the "canon events" I actually can't believe they are that important, just not so sure if Miguel does know that or is being mislead.
I am curious to see how the 3rd film plays out. But with the controversies surrounding Phil Lord and Chris Miller, it does leave me worried about the film itself

You Know in Matpat's theory video on this movie he explains that their not breaking canon's but causing incursions(watch the video for the specifics). If that's true then Gwen being in Miles's universe, and vice versa is dangerous by itself. So unless they find a work around that(And the writers realise that or not) neither of them can have it all-which in my opinion is one of the key hard truths any spider person must face.
Then how does Spider Society not crumble due to incursions?

In the comics they do get together so if they are based off that then yes they can without the death problem the only time that happens is with Peter and it’s her non superhero character not her superhero character since she has her own canon event
In the comics, variants of theirs from Earth-8 get together. Gwen discovering this is actually what keeps her from dating Miles in the 616 (mainline) universe. She doesn't like the idea of destiny putting them together. She wants it to be her decision. So they part as friends...for now.

@@RicoTv.. I'm not exactly sure what your point is here. But this is not the exact same Miles as the Miles that comes to 616. Our Miles' universe is acutal E-1610b. And Gwen's is E-65b.
They have intentionally made them variants so they aren't bound by the comic lore.

What if these movies that we are following is originally earth-8 Gwen and miles. Because the reason why the canon event exists is to break it because they are meant to have a happy ending based on the comics. With earth-8 being heavily to implied to be the future of earth-65.

@@Carlton17277 I've thought of this possibility, and I think it's the only way I would be happy to bring in the idea of Earth 8. A lot of folks want M&G to meet their variants on Earth 8 so they can see that it's possible. But I don't want that. At least as far as the movies are concerned I want Miles& Gwen to be the "first time for everything." If you bring in the E-8 couple, then the "first time for everything" is the E-8 couple, not our Miles & Gwen. I want them to be willing to take the risk on their own to get together, and beat Gwen's canon event so she becomes the first Gwen Stacy to have a happy ending.

That was the original plan. But then they decided it was too soon. They wanted to develop and mature their relationship first. So they are saving the kiss for the current story.

6:38 wdym her future is restored ?? I was told that her death is also a canon event. And the exception of her father's death is not enough for her future to get restored. But obviously, i do want to get her future restored in the way she wants and want to her and miles and stay together( in the form of love).
