    Awesome fix thank you. Never buying Samsung again after having to replace a fridge in less than 3 years- then this.

    Many thanks for offering a simple, cheap and effective alternative to paying from $80 - $110 a piece to replace several broken Samsung knobs used on the NX58H9500 model, for which only OEM replacements are available , unlike other models where cheap alternatives exist.

    I had the same issue, so I was able to find a set of 5 brand new knobs on Amazon for $27. They did have cheaper ones, or you could buy one, two, three, or four depending on how many you needed. I have a warranty but knobs were not covered and my first one broke a week after I got the stove brand new from Lowe’s. The warranty tech told me the cost of new knobs from Samsung would be $268 dollars for 5 of them but my stove also has a 6th light switch knob. The light switch know alone costs $69 dollars more. The problem is if I bought them from Samsung I would just receive the same weak plastic knobs that would just crack and break again. However, the knobs I got on Amazon have an extra METAL piece surrounding the plastic base to reinforce it. So other companies fixed Samsungs knob issue.
    In the mean time I did a similar fix except I use JB weld and a piece of 16 gauge wire twisted around the broken piece. I hope this helps others.

    Yes, genius! I was looking for small pipe clamps, but they don't make them that small--didn't think of zip ties. BTW, you can put less stress on the knobs by removing the lead weights while you're at it. Amazing that they go to the trouble of putting weights in there to make the knob feel like it's quality, when in fact it's just cheap plastic. Anyway, thanks for this great tip!!

    Pure genius, thanks! I initially set out to fix one knob that was loose and obviously falling apart but then discovered the other 4 knobs were also cracked. Shored all of them up with superglue and zip ties. You definitely saved me some money!

    Oh my goodness, thank you!!!!!!!! My 10 month old Samsung range just had a knob crack and when it was in the off position the knob showed 8 instead of OFF. I can't believe they made such cruddy knobs! You're amazing, thank you!!!!!

    Or people can call the manufacturer and get a new knob. This BS should never happen to stove knobs, they knew it was defective, but didn't recall them. Apathetic doesn't help these companies push to maintain quality, only direct complaints, and maybe even class-action suits do.

      Sounds as bad as the Nintendo Switch controllers. Similar issue. Cheap plastic that keeps rubbing down the inside of the controller.

    Great idea, thank you. I bought a New set, making sure it was metal inside, but the fitting was a bit to small, and is imposible to messure or to find the stove model, but with your idea they all work again. THAKS

    Another way to secure the broken knob is to us a .45 acp brass casing. The internal dimension is a match to the out size dimension of the knob shaft. Cut the primer end off and slide the tube over the broken knob shaft. You could glue if you like but not necessary.

    Where can I get the sleeves that insert into the knobs?

    • @firesurfer
      @firesurfer Před rokem +1

      You have to buy the whole thing. It was $27 for 5 on amazon when I got them. Make sure you get the upgraded version. search 'upgraded samsung stove knobs'. Another above person said 45acp shell casing will work if you want to cut it down. I used a scrap piece of tubing that happened to be the right size with epoxy to make it stronger. fill the insides solid. When the 3rd one broke I just bought the set. So far so good.

    Ok. So the knob is broke AND the valve is bent. Will it still work correctly once we do this to the knob?

    • @Megalodon1
      @Megalodon1  Před 20 dny

      This method will work if there are no missing pieces that need to be secured by
      zio tie and super glue. Now if there are chucks missing than this video won't help and you'll need to buy replacement knobs.
      Thanks for watching and good luck.👍
