Habs should go get Martin Necas ..!! Big 6'2" ...190 pounds ..25 yrs.old ...proven scorer ..!! Come on Hughes ..Make it happen ..!! He would be a game changer..!!
He is big .. but is afraid of the ruff stuff ... he does not like playoffs ... too gritty and intimidating for his temperament. great in regular season ... so so in playoffs.
He would cost a ton. Would love to get him, but I think he's Carolina's #1 free agent target for re-signing.
I wouldn't approach Laine, he's like Dubois, big babies that cries when it doesn't go their ways..
Forget Debrusk he’s either signing in Boston or going back home where his dad is out west either Vancouver or Calgary
Holtz or Mercer from the Devils is intriguing. Debrusk and Marchesault seem a bit too old for longer term contract; of the two I would lean towards Marchesault for his Stanley Cup experience and hometown appeal. Necas may the perfect fit at RW... or for a short term vet, Guentzel maybe... Carolina is going to have let someone go this summer. Two others to think if available about include Seth Jarvis and Ryan Suzuki. Zegras maybe - management check for fit. Bigger need is I think on RW... oh, and completely agree that ANY Leaf is basically toxic right now and no leadership. Hope our management avoids the Leafs blow up and looks elsewhere.
As a habitant of Medicine Hat and an editor at the local newspaper, I can concur that Lindstrom is dynamite. If we get him in Montreal I’m gonna FLIP OUT.
Hughes is not gonna get forward, he will get another defense man.
@@bedbath9056 yes!!!!!
Patrick Liane? I thought a players character was big on Gorton's list.
You don’t want Laine
I hope they try to sign Dakota Joshua.
His overall game is really ripening nicely at this point in his career.
YEs YES ..... Dakoota Joshua .... 6-2 / 183 pounds 15 hits per 60 minutes
They would be ecstatic if Florian developed into a Joshua type player
@@FooFahFoeFum I don't know where you got your weight but he's around 215 lbs. You suck mate
This is exactly the type of player Montreal needs. Need a younger version though. This is also the player teams overpay for in free agency after a good playoff run.
Hey Josh & Jessie,
Would you trade Mailloux or Reinbacher for Trevor Zegras. I would like you to know your thoughts about this.
How do I find out when the shows are live. Such positive attitudes from you both. Your parents did a great job of raising you boys! Ha, you just answered my question by saying every Monday at 6:15.
I wish your parents would convince you to shave and look more professional.
@FooFahForFum signed in from safari CZcams just to say…you seem really nice in parties🤘
@@FooFahFoeFumi wish your parents would’ve taught you not to judge people and that appearances have nothing to do with competence
WTF? Kakko no. Only one I think would fit is Holtz
Holtz sucks, you're fucking high
Damn i really missed this stream :( I'll definitely catch the next one
I think you hit the nail on the head, Jesse. Established guys like Nick, Math and Monty are probably tiring of losing and it’s time for KH to reward them with reinforcements in a push to make playoffs. They’ll add two scoring wingers. My guess is one short term and one long term. As a FA, Stamkos or Marchessault would make sense on three year deals and then someone like Laine, Zegras or Necas via trade.
None of the guys mentioned I would not spend much on to get.
If I'm dealing with Buffalo, I would see if Kulich could be had, he has sick puck skills and one hell of a shot !
Sam Bennett would be a great addition to the Habs , someone of his style that can score here and there, hit, fight , would be a fan favourite.
Otherwise, stay the course, never mortgage your future for someone that hasn't pan out yet. Price has to be right to pick up a Holtz / Kaliyev / .
If it's possible, would be happy if they got T. Forrester from Phil , size and scoring
No Eiserman
Libdstrom Iginla or best RD available
RD’s are worth their weight in gold in the NHL
A forward that won’t be ready for a year or 2 won’t help line up now.
Can pick forwards with later picks
I’d be okay with selecting
Berkeley Catton before any of the available DMen
Iginla is ranked 20th Eiserman top 5
🤣🤣🤣 No Eiserman but yes to Iginla? Are you okay ? L Take start watching scouting videos
@@alphamale4182 Indeed, Eiserman is one the youngest prospects and is the best goal scorer available at the 2024 draft...He is also bigger than Iginla. HuGo are presently at the U18 hockey in Finland and can see first hand that Eiserman is a scoring machine. Connelly is also doing fine !!!
Really liked Quinn in his draft year! I think he'll have a great career, but it's crazy to think the Sabres, who have Dahlin, Power and Byram... need help on defence! I think he's with the Sabres for a while..
What's with the intro music? I like it but...Is this date night lol
Not funny
We need big forwards, with Suzuki, Newhook, Caufield we are never gonna win cups.
Look at Panthers forwards, all big and solid strong players.
Newhook looks like he will be a shooter along side Dach. Unless Montreal wants Suzuki, Dach, Newhook and Evans down the middle. Nice to have options.
Viktor Arvidson is another guy I'd take a look at. People are going to say he's small, but watch him play, he doesn't shy away from physical play, hard forechecker, sound defensively and proven 30 goal scorer. But all and all I think there going to surprise us with a player nobody expects.
Good take on Mailloux, no way they should move this kid. Big physical offensive right shot defenseman are a very rare commodity.
Bring back Lehkonen
Moving up will cost and we have lotsa' D and trading Roy is a loss so trade Matheson and keep Savard as our veteran. but a large forward seems likely. We have Suzuki at 210 lbs, Dach, Slav, and Armia on our fourth line. Priority is not size. A play driver like Catton would add more to the TEAM concept and a need for variety. Catton has it all and needs weight which is simple to solve. Catton pound for pound is the best forward in the draft and the play driver will add more to the TEAM. Size is easy to find but a solid play driver will win hockey games. Lafleur, Richard, etc were all under 6ft but were Giants and were play drivers. We cant pass up on this opportunity. Pick Catton!
Last year people said demidov is better than mitchkov
I predict that Demidov will be available to Montreal but they will pass on him....because of the russian factor !!!
Montreal still has to get rid of several contracts before they start going after more expensive players...Having cap space in the NHL is still very important especially if teams knock at your door with very good offers because they are over the cap themselves...Don't forget Montreal still have Price's contract at 10.5 mils/year in the books !!!
Wyatt Johnson from Dallas is amazing. Holtz and Necas better options
Justin Poirier*
Tyler t is the only guy I would sign as a free agent ! Celebrini lidstrom inginla that's it ! In a trade Jason Robertson is a guy I would try hard to get !
DeBrusk will likely get his overpaid. Pass
Kakko hard pass
Holtz might be interesting
Holtz sucks
Laine is amazing, but I think he would struggle in Montreal where there are a lot of distractions…
You guys need to look at the plus/minus more. I'll take a player who is more often on the plus side. Everyone talking about Matheson's career high seasons. Take of his team minus 27 and he has a lot less contributing points.
And yet NOBODY ever gives Kovacevic any love ❤️.
@@chansevigen1328kovacevic plays third pair defenseman minutes against bottom 9 players. Like him but you have to put things in perspective
Hard to have a positive +/- when you're on the ice for half of every game and against the opposing team's top 6 every shift.
I get it
But under your reasoning Gallagher should be a plus player as well than
Not minus 100 🤦♂️
@@chansevigen1328 Reasoning? There is no "reasoning" in the statement I prefer someone who is more often on the plus side. And we all know Gallagher is not a great contract thanks to he who shall remain nameless (MB)
Jake will sign with Calgary or Edmonton. Somehow girl friend still lives in Alberta. He is going home
Kaliev told teams at his draft interviews he didn't need or want to practice!
PHIL TOMASINO. Geterdun!
Kakko is soft ... In the present Vegas series he'd get whacked before he reached the opposing blue line. Habs need large guys with skilll ...grit and sandpaper ... no Pacioretty type ... no PLD type ... No Mantha type ... no Byfield type ... no Marner Type .... No Necas type......
size and skill is definitely important. you have to keep this large and mobile D together and build that offense.
Josh & Jess & Montreal management do not understand or willing to accept, that a TOP 4 FORWARD at 6-2/210 pounds with 25 goals and (10.0 hits per 60 minutes) ......... is more valuable than a 5-10/175 pound 35 goal scorer with (2.0 hit per 60 minutes) played. .... ....... Grit ... sandpaper ... Intimidation wins in the playoffs. Ask Mathews & Marner & Tavares how great their 82 game season was, but now the real hockey game is the PLAYOFFS. ... where hitting is increased by 25 percent .... where penalties are called allot less... where ruff stuff is ignored by the refs.... and the larger players take advantage of smaller players.
This is why the Panthers will make the finals against Vegas or Dallas....they are all big teams. Likely two "no tax" state teams will face each other again for the cup. These teams don't have any problems attracting players and signing them at a decent price....they are also sunny locations which is nice for the families of those players!!!
I think you do not know how to use paragraph.
The only "5-10/175 pound 35 goal scorer with (2.0 hit per 60 minutes)" kinda guy you are reffering to is caufield. What about slaf (6-4, 230lbs), dach(6-4, 215lbs), suzuki(5-11, 215lbs) ALL TOP 4 potential. Future D-core is not small neither
Size can come handy sure, but don't forget when montreal went to the finals with Danault, gallagher, lekkonhen, caufield, suzuki and toffoli as the top 6 (far far far from being your " TOP 4 forward at 6-2/210 pounds with 25 goals and (10.0 hits per 60 minutes)"). Caufield did great against the jets and vegas(which had a huge and physical d-core) and suzuki was great for the entire playoffs.
Size is far from being the only thing in the playoffs, certainly not for your top 4 forward lol. Your 3rd and 4th line exist for a reason.
@@felixlebel5418 A team with 2 guys in the top 6 that are heavy gritty sandpaper forwards that hit... is better than the team with 5-7 and 6- nothing forwards that don't hit....
Hitting is an extra tool , an extra skill that teams should strive to incorporate in their top 6..... John ferguson ... Lemieux, John Leclaire ... eric lindros ... Svetchnikov , Ovechkin .... L. Crouse ... etc .. etc ... etc ... none of those guys is under 6-2
@@FooFahFoeFum yeah sure, what about slaf and dach like I said? They are huge and talented. Even suzuki is playing big and works like a horse. I mean I don't understand the you first argument you made when you said that mtl management does not understand that. It's pretty clear they want talent guys that are not "small" and "lazy" like any team would... caufield is not a product of hughes... but bergevin. So yeah I mean size is someting you should look for, I think mtl is taking this into consideration, but it's far from being the main metric to draft/trade for players.
lemieux, lindros, ovechkin... you think hughes would not take them? Sure he would, I don't understand your point? They are elite players, one a decade kinda players, they don't come often. You are not playing NHL on your xbox and making a team with no rules. There's a lot that come into play lol I don't know you personnally but it's funny that you think you know more about hockey that gorton and kent hughes, it just tell me that you don't know shit
Guhle had 17 pts in 70 games on a last place team. Guhle is a not worth 6 million with those stats. I guess you guys think Anderson is worth 5.5 million with that reasoning.
ghule is going to be fine, anderson is the one that will be let go of eventually. the habs blue line is not what i'm worried about
NHL Playoffs is a war .... Players will do everything in the rules to win. …. nobody ever mentions the word PAIN & FEAR in Hockey but it exists especially when you are small .... FEAR is a factor in NORTH AMERICAN hockey (200' x85' ice surface) .......... humans have a natural fear of getting hit hard or losing their teeth, getting a broken jaw .... being embarrassed by being knocked out in a fight in front of 18,000 fans .....
bigger guys win most of the board battles .... bigger guys can clear the opponent in front of the net more often ..... Bigger guys develop more mass when colliding with a smaller player … fear of being injured from a slap shot is common ..... bigger guys shoot the puck harder and 10 to 15 miles per hour more than your small guys ....
Hockey played in the regular season is indeed very different from the playoff hockey. To this date, I still do not understand why Montreal drafted Mesar in the 2022 first round instead a Tristan Luneau, a big RD; and traded a year later 2 good draft picks to get Newhook, another small player !!!
@@powers1500 I really believe that Habs mangement is blinded by the successes of Martin St Louis comments/ inputs...." small guys like me can be in hall of fame".... "size does not matter"
@@FooFahFoeFum size always matters in the playoffs...but not as much in the regular season...So do you draft/trade players for the regular season or the playoffs ???
@@powers1500 playoffs...
Vegas average weight is 210 pounds... Montreal average is 201 pounds......Montreal Shrimp factory .does not need Demidov 168 pounds..... Caulfield 5-8/176 … RHP 5-9/184 … Farrell 5-9/175 … Gallagher 5-9/186 …Pitlick 5-10/168 … Gignac 5-11/170 … Guindon 5-10/170 … Mesar 5-10/174 … Maillet 5-10/185 … … Harris 5-11/189 … Kidney 6-0/183 … Roy 6-0/190 … Beck 6-0/191... Stephens 5-11/193 … Newhook 5-11/199 … White 5-11/191…
Don't mistake mass for playoff toughness.
Anderson is allegedly a power forward. Everyone forgets Drouin is over 200. Galchenyuk was over 6ft and 200.
But I'll gladly a quickly snatch up a Brad Marchand, prime Jake Guentzel, prime Kunitz... or a prime Gallagher in the playoff over any 200+ pounders who aren't giving 20 goals in the regular season.
Hell.. even with Vegas -- The usefulness of all that man-meat was to make room for Marchessault to score his way to a Conn Smyth. It don't mean a thing if someone can't pop it in the net in the end.
@@iangurudata Vegas ended up winning the cup because they had added 2 crucial missing pieces to their team: Pietrangelo and Eichel, two "big" elite players !!!
Kakko??? Kk would be a better option. Stay away.
Msl is a great coach and he turn him around like armia if we sign him
Weakest take.. Big L
Duclair would bring size speed and some skill, big upgrade on Anderson at his current state
Montreal is stuck with Armia, Dvorak, Gallagher and Anderson at least for one more year. Cannot add much to the roster with these guys still on the team.
Trade Caufield + daft pick or harris .... Caufield will never last more than 5 or 6 years.... over rated ....get a power forward to replace him
Holtz is OK ..... but again too small to make an impact in playoffs hockey.... The problem with him is that he runs away from the ruff stuff. Only 44 hits in 82 games.... Habs have a better player in Armia who has improved allot in 2023/2024.
If you can fit Marchessault on the cap. Automatic yes! Playoff mvp, local talent, leadership and stil can score. That's a no brainer...
Dach and Marchessault just think about that!
why because he's french? he's in his mid 30's lol
@@travisdecheno5670 yeah exactly because he's french...that's exactly it! You are a very smart man. Maybe try to read what I wrote?
Laine retained for Anderson straight up. Otherwise, no thanks.
Habs should sign Mantha or Sprong would be a good fit
I would only be interested in Laine if he was VERY cheap. Realistically hes probably not worth the headachs
Boston will resign DeBrusk...
Jack quinn is NOT an established player
First
Liane used to miss practices in Wpg to play video games! A nutcase, unreliable, wrong fit on a 'character' team.
We don't need another Alex Newhook....we need better than him....he is not that great...to win a cup, we need better
Liane is very intriguing....they would have to retain a bunch of money and there would need to be conditions given the history of the player
Habs will get STAMKOS
Nobody talks about Trevor Connelly?
