It was either Luis Bonfa or Laurendo Almeida, I don't have that album now and can't remember the name of the track. There was a solo, which sounded like more than one guitar and I figured it had to have more strings. The dropped D tuning wouldn't do! Will watch out for your other videos!

Yes, I use a capo made by 21st Century Cejilla. It's a wooden capo like the ones used by Flamenco guitarists. Strings by Mail carries it. You could also use two low profile 6-string capos (Planet Waves, Shubb, Kyser) and clamp them on both sides of the neck to over all 10-strings.

Perfecto, just discovered you through the cathedral guitar website, I enjoy your playing and explanations. I am currently trying to find someone with a 10 string I can try. One thing I was wondering was how the guitar is still fully resonant without the Yepes tuning.
Matthew Winward Hi Matthew, thanks for the comment! The Yepes tuning is resonant with all 12 chromatic notes. With other tunings (like mine), the resonance is somewhat contained to specific keys as opposed to full chromatic range. But despite that, it is still more resonant than a 6 string guitar. I don't know if it's the recording, but your tone is pretty weak and thin. Polish your nails and don't pluck the strings at such a right angle. The angle should be less than 90°. Cool guitar though!
