We tried Chris Heria's diet and workout for 2 weeks. For 2 weeks we took the diet and fitness routine of calisthenics CZcamsr Chris Heria. We utilized at home workouts and strict diets to see how Chris Heria stays in such great shape. Hope you guys enjoy this fitness challenge!
Have a great week guys! Cheers.
What challenge should we take on next??
Beating the Minecraft speedrun record
Try a form of training known as grease the groove, you can read about this but basically you do body weight exercises periodically throughout the day. If want to do pull-ups then you can out a pull-up bar in a doorway and each time you walk under it do 1 set with half of your max reps. If you do this everyday for 3 to 4 weeks then take a break of 4 or 5 days and retest you max you will see huge improvements. The other advantage of this challenge is you can it in conjunction with whatever training you want. It is not taxing on your body and is great long term as you can simply repeat the four weeks and see massive improvements. Even if you do not do this as a challenge and upload it on CZcams I would recommend still trying it.
Learning to code, game development or app development would be super cool to watch as I am learning also and you’d be a great showcase of someone learning to code who actually has discipline
30 days of Geologie challenge!
Do the bigger leaner stronger program by mike matthews. You will not regret it. I would PAY to watch a 4 week challenge. 12 weeks is preferable but I know you guys need to get out content sooner than that.
Doing pull-ups on a football (soccer) goal is 10 times harder than on a regular bar! The grip is so wide that there’s really no grip at all! So a big respect mate!
True i have tried that before
@@bonibon6669 i tried it too was able do 12 without assisstance(idk the spelling) and man it was like 3x harder for me
When lockdown ends you guys should do a 30 days boxing gym challenge.
That’d be a blast!
@@GoalGuys would love to also see how you two take on MMA
@@GoalGuys pls do
Heck yes!
Personally I don’t recommend 100 pull ups and push ups for beginners. Start 25 each then add 25 more each as you progress every 2 weeks
Yeah I found that kind of strange as well honestly. Not beginner numbers at all.
@Mr.Chadov maybe , I don’t know. I’ve always been taught build yourself up.
They should just stick to a routine .... maybe U/L split
Thanks for the reminder. Progressive overload is the way to go. This seems extreme and not recommended.
This Channel is so much better with the fact that it's average guys trying stuff and not someone who is already super jacked
I LOVE seeing you both in a video together. Pls do this more often!!!!!
Always happy to get a notification for a new Goal Guys video. Keep up the great work!
I'm loving your content guys! You're amount the few uploaders who are completely honest! Thanks for the inspiration! 👍🏼❤️
Just wanted to comment when you talked about being hungry. When I started calisthenics I just stuck with a Mediterranean diet and I never felt hungry. It really is a lifestyle change when you want to "get in shape" and that includes a diet shift. It can be super hard (I'm American so I only speak for America) because we're surrounded by bad ultra processed foods. It's more about discipline than anything. If you're a beginner, it's best to do 10 minutes of workout every day and build up vs 1 hour a day, feeling bad, then skipping days. Slow and steady really does win the race. Props to you or making this video and showing people that the struggle is real but you gotta focus and push through it.
It's so nice to see you together in videos now!
While all the workouts are great, this video emphasizes on one particular point for me: focus on doing the exercise right. Once you can't do the exercise properly, you stop. So if you do 2 sets with 30 reps today and on the 3rd rep, you can't do the exercise properly, you stop. However, keep progression in mind. Track your progress and increase the reps appropriately.
Can we appreciate the streamlined pipeline of content here. The boys managed to plan, log, reflect, and narrate 4 or more goals simotaneously here. It's like The Goal Guys equivalent of the MCU as I try to pin down where all these goals crossed over in the timeline. Love it. Keep up the great work boys!
Great Video as always, and Nice gains guys!
You guys are the real deal!! Keep it up!💪🏽
I love how this Chanel really puts in the work
They really don't, I pretty much always end these videos completely disappointed in the methods they're using to get better at certain activities or just their form and exercise selection in general.
@@Anon.G Lmao I wish they would just stick to a consistent routine and update us every so often.. I understand that they might do these "week challenges" for content but is it really worth the views at the cost of gainz?
@@LookOuch And the amount of things they say that are downright wrong is infuriating.
@@Anon.G lmao you would think after 4+ years of making fitness-related content they would have it down by now... They should hire coach Greg, would give them views, and a good plan.
@@LookOuch Or even follow a reputable free program, it wouldn't take much more than consistency and accurate form checking to let these guys increase their numbers.
This is perfect to try while stuck in lockdown for the foreseeable in the UK
I keep forgetting to subscribe to you guys, I wont forget this time! You take on really intresting challenges
You guys should do a month of pilates! I want to know how that compares to all the other types of workouts you've done. You should try Blogilates!
I want to see Cam's Pull-Up progression through 2021!
yo! Ya'll liked my calisthenics comment on the last video so here's an update.
I'm using a real program for the first time in my life and it feels awesome to follow along.
I started with 1 pullup and I'm up to 7!
Keep up the great work!
damn, kevin love and alex caruso been on the grind.
Bruh 😂
Cam: "This might just kill me".
2yo subscribers: "He already died once" 😨
What happened?
I like how he records himself breaking the diet. Not just in a moment of breaking it, he goes "if I'm breaking this diet, I need this footage"!
I’m pretty sure it was recorded later
You know, that would make alot more sense. Dont know why I didnt think of that. Lol
If you guys haven’t yet, you should do a Murph! Can definitely do it gymless
I believe the "100 push-ups/100 pull-ups every morning" routine are for people who are already dedicated calisthenics enthusiasts in fairly good shape... otherwise you have to start with a *lot* fewer reps (or even with an easier variation of the pull-up) and most likely only a couple of days a week as opposed to daily.
Also keep in mind Heria himself is not only well-conditioned, but relatively light because of all the training he does and his low-calorie/carb diet he sticks to year round... so people like him are going to look at those 100 push-ups and 100 pull-ups as basic daily warms ups.
For the rest of us, this particular daily routine is pretty useless and will likely do more harm than good...
Yeah they had the right idea with the band...I’d love to see someone stick with the routine for 2 years, or work up to it over the course of 2 years, because they didn’t really develop much by just diving in the deep end.
The editing in this video was super good
I watch these videos to help stay motivated kicking my ass into gear
You guys should try Stew Smith Navy Seal Training plan or Recon training plan for one month!!
Benefits from this is
Focusing on PFT so Pull ups and push up and Running and core and swimming also being above average in calisthenics !!
Why would you start with his beginner workouts and then try to do his very advanced morning routine???
Good afternoon Krusty Klan! Ya’ll are killin’ it.
Doing pullups on that large diameter of a goal post makes it harder - when you can palm the whole bar and wrap your thumb you activate kore of your forearm muscles and it makes it easier
So don’t beat yourself up for doing it despite doing the harder version!
I was so happy when Cam got 100
I'm not a fan of the past two videos. I'll call them "we YOLO'd this exercise for X days" videos. In previous videos you guys were mindful of technique and bringing in experts to avoid injury. Watching Cam trying to jump head first into 100 chinups/day is demoralizing and painful to watch. I have previously enjoyed your videos because I found them motivating. I didn't find much to be motivated about in this video. Don't get me wrong, I've loved your content, and you guys seem really smart and nice, BUT if I want to watch YOLO videos there are a ton of boring CZcams bro channels I could switch to.
This is a little harsh but I agree (plus Chris heria might be good at calisthenics but sucks as q trainer)
This is because that app sucks for Cali Workouts and overstrains beginners
That shit was not beginner..
Agree
Yeah, I really don't enjoy these. It doesn't help that the person they chose to emulate is a purveyor of junk information
you guys look a lot better after 2 weeks!
With all due respect, I love watching you both struggle like hell to complete one of these "famous influencer's beginner" workouts. It makes me feel much better about my own struggles with training programmes and their occasionally unrealistic goals/methods. They're not all bad, but lots are still a silver bullet in disguise.
You guys should do something with Greg Doucettes cookbook! Or training regime!
I notice a lack of flexibility in your hips man, if you work on that and also your shoulder mobility, the handstand and his progressions are gonna be way easier. Trust me
How can you flex them?
I assume Cam knows pull-ups are much harder on a wide bar than a standard one. Being able to wrap your thumb around the bar and actively squeeze it makes it much easier.
That’s the thickness of the bar not the width.
You guys are doing really well! Cam shouldnt beat himself up, pullups are like the only exercise that i feel like doesnt get easier through my 6 years of strength training :D i dont think i could do a hundred in that timeframe! Little thought: maybe do these videos rather over the space of 30+ days, i know its more work but the results and developments are the interesting part in your videos and they get way more impressive over longer periods of time.
The goal guys are the only people I know that work out all year round and still look out of shape lol
lmao
Ditto
Weird almost as they just pretend to make videos? Just a thery
@@mikkel3912 I mean it would be easy imo. Change clothes, don't film your feet , and if you do film your feet only show a successful rep or two with a counter lol. Fill time on the video by cooking and eating "healthy food". I could make this video in a day lol.
@@sebastiensimon1599 great point :)
I always enjoy your content but please please please fix audio levels, especially for Brendan. Sometimes it's a whisper, while everything else is just normal. It'll make your videos much more enjoyable
I recommend to do a video on greg doucette cook book and training book
Where in Vancouver are those pullup bars? They are hard to find in Van. There's a set near second beach and one in stanley park but anywhere else?
There are bars at Prince Edward Park off of Main, and there’s a calisthenics park at Douglas Park off of Cambie! There’s also the calisthenics park at the PNE. Those are the ones we know of.
The admission of averageness was hilarious to me. I am still wondering what you guys make of the sustainability or results from this experiment. It's not clear from the experience whether there was any particular unique gains you experienced from this program vs others attempted, and ostensibly the focus on volume hints that you may have spent more time sore/in recovery/under par than in other programs. I also wonder if Cam's vegetarian diet especially limited his ability to reap benefits from this style of program since there's the neurological recovery aspect of calisthenics on top of the volume.
Huh? Are you speaking English?
You guys should do IronWolf workouts.
Brilliant video guys. Well done. First of all no wonder it was so hard getting the pull ups you were doing them on football goals how thick is that bar man. So don't be tough on yourself.
2nd thing you really can't follow people's workouts you have to tailor it to yourself otherwise you'll be in the pain cave forever.
Sorry but Chris heria is not elite he is actually horrible
I agree, good motivator for beginners but terrible advice a lot of the time, he is stronger than me and looks better but that doesn’t mean his advice is good, a lot of the time he contradicts reality or just says complete horseshit, no hate to his fans or him but if I’d bet on who’d get stronger and bigger after 10 years I think the guy that didn’t listen to Heria and chose to listen to alphadestiny, steve shaw, shredded sports science would win any day over someone who listens to chris heria
What brand of pull up bar is he using at home?
100 push-ups and pull-ups a day was too much! You should have done 25 push-ups and 10 pull-ups. 👍🏻😃💪🏻
Yep absolutely. It isn't about the 100 pull and pushups Heria does, it's about doing your comfortable amount of these excercises you can do in the morning. And it's smarter to slowly progress this week per week. All you do when you try to do as many as this guy is asking for injuries! You are overloading your muscles massively -> no growth, sincere exhaustion of the whole body and nervous system -> high probability of injury. Heria is doing NOTHING but work out, for years, day in and day out. If he does 100 pushups and pullups every morning( which I highly doubt!!! ) it's because his body is kinda used to it and it isn't that exhausting and unusual to his muscles and joints to do this amount of work.
You'll get to 100 eventually. But to start where person X is because it's his program is not advised. I don't know his app/program but I think even Heria doesn't recommend that, does he?
How long does it take you to do the 100 pushups?
The 100 pull ups is advanced, maybe wasn't the best idea if your on a beginner level.
Do the recommended routine for a month!
r/bwf recommended routine would be good but not just for a month.. They should stick to it consistently for like 3-4 months then move on to a harder split..
In my opinion, Hera is an ego-driven fool who doesnt understand the reasons behind why exercise works. His lack of understanding is compensated by pure volume. And just seeing what exercises are programmed for a "beginner" tell me that he has no idea or frame of reference for what a true beginner looks like, and what sort of movementa are safe and functional. Completely inverting the body for a true beginner? 50 pullups for a true beginner? Most are starting at half a pullup
Please tell an example.
@@Jacob-kw6wv Lmao, Chris Heria calls "Planche" and "Front Lever" beginner.... If a beginner goes straight into the first progression of any of these movements they would get fricked up. These movements are very taxing on your tendons and joxints and require a good amount of strength to even begin training effectively. Chris Heria also advertises spot reduction (Burning fat in targeted areas) which is false and backed by science that it does not exist.
Im not sure he did this workout. Yes, pseudo and elevated pike should not be the starting point. However, in his videos he was giving proper advice on how to begin and progress, so the app might be written by someone else or its bot generated.
Love the videos. I’m suggesting the Mike Tyson workout routine. It is really challenging.
Doing 100 pull ups and push ups seems like a great idea for people to not going through with exercising/getting in shape, seems like waaay too much. for getting started.
How much easier are the pull-ups with band ?
Rewatching this in 2024. Brendan just hoping out in that deadlift is so fixed 😂 love you dudes but there was no need for that imo, fair play cam for getting stronger!
Don't be embarrassed! These workouts are *super hard!*
I'm about to try his 22 day chest workout. Pray for me
what was the music playing at 1:30?
Nice video
I did the 30 Day Nordic Curl challenge inspired by ya'll. Man....was an ass kicker, but the gains were tremendous. Thank you all for the inspiration.
Hopefully i will atleast run a few miles this week :P
Chris hernia not squatting right
Hey guys we have a Rings Program designed to get you to not only muscle up, but doing ring sequences as well!
Would love for you to test it out, off camera even. Let us know :)
Try doing Greg ductet diet
Video idea: get into the same shape you were prior to the wolverine challenge. Then do the challenge again but this time take BCAAs, creatine and protein shakes. It would be interesting to compare the difference in results 💪
After corona can u guys do learn to do backflip 2
Ooof why Chris Heria
Chris hernia the spot reduction king
To everyone reading this listen to him when it comes to calestenics but not anything else he haa a lot of opinion with not many coaches agreeing with him
But i have tried it his calestenics workouts are really good
In which aspects should we not listen to him? I've seen a few comments like this already.
Most people only follow him for the strength stuff anyway, isn't that his thing?
@@HelloBrother22 IMO his Hiit workouts are wayy too intense for a beginner

And basically every science thing he says is wrong
Chris is the greatest and he is a monster..calisthenics is not a JOKE guys its about pure strength...but dont do advanced level when you are a beginner!
Oh boy I can't wait to see the Goal Guys try Chris Hernia's workout!!!

The soccer goal undoubtedly made those pull ups harder. With a smaller bar I bet you’d do much better
Never thought I would miss doing push ups or pull ups. But they are on the list of not okay for being pregnant, ugh.

Doing pull ups on a football goal like that are way harder than a regular pull up bar. You should buy a doorway pull up bar, they are cheap and effective.
Creatine monohydrate 5 grams per day

You didn't do "100 pull ups" sorry to burst your bubble, it doesn't count if you don't do it with perfect form, kipping pull ups aren't impressive, watch Chris herias how to start calisthenics, start with Australian pull ups, not being mean, but it will help you.

little surprised you went with him after his drama and false advertisement. and no im not just being some hater. ive followed him for years and supported him. but i had my disappointments as well.
I've never heard about any drama. Could you explain?
@@Aalpine001 basically chris posted a video about how you can spot lose fat. (“how to lose just your belly fat fast!” etc) and got called out. he responded with calling everyone hater/clout chaser/troll and made things worse by dragging unrelated youtuber. later people figured out his real personality and left a lot of bad taste in their mouths including mine. he always had promoted this “reborn man” identity in his videos and how hes a loving single father that wants to help everyone. but his childish responses and text fights kinda broke all of that facade. you can search on youtube as well.

Can you try the mike tyson calitthenic workout ?
In my 20s pulls ups were easy... now in my 40 I tried to do them ..... i tried
I imagine using an actual pull up bar instead of the soccer goal would’ve made it a lot easier
No, it doesnt, thats the whole purpose of calisthenics, anytime, anywhere
I would have done bodyweight rows instead of 100 pull-ups every morning. 100 pushups are way easier than 100 pull-ups. And if cam is obliterated after 100 pull-ups, why would he try and do that everyday? Like I get it's a challenge but why not just do 25 a day lol.
Try mike Tyson’s workout
Don't do pull ups and push ups every day... Focus on strength one day. rest a day and do some hypertrophy then rest two days and do it again.
Strength = Most difficult variation (or heaviest weight) for short duration/low reps (4-8) with 2-5 minute rest between, very strict form.
Hypertrophy (without getting too complicated) = A variation (or weight) which you can manage 8-12 reps, 1 minute rest, 3-5 sets (e.g. aim for 12 on the variation, rest a minute, do it again. might get 10, rest and might only get 8 or 9. That's fine) Again with good form, but it's natural to cheat a little or assist yourself for more reps when doing hypertrophy based training. Due to the decrease in load, you're less likely to get injured, however, try to aim for assisted reps, and not silly moment reps or something #kippingpullupssmh
Goood luck!
How the frick is planche pushups a beginner exercise. The mad man
No offense but I would really wish for you guys to stick to a consistent routine... I don't know if you are at the moment because I do not know your personal life, however, I really think you should consider this... 4 Years ago when you did your "wolverine" workout routine you made some solid gains because you maintained a stable routine for ~10 weeks... I think it would be a really good idea if you stick to a routine such as Upper Lower split, Push-Pull Legs, or full-body x3 a week... You would still be able to make work-out-related content every few weeks or so documenting your progress on the routine... Just a suggestion, but nice video.
He is consistent
But he tries different things. For video content too
Every type of workout trains something else.
You wont see "gains" from Cali Workouts. Its more lean and less bulky
@@PuppyTheTiny I honestly don't understand a single word you said lol. More lean and less bulky?? What .... being lean or bulky is all dependent on your diet and calorie intake... Also yes you can see gains from "Cali Workouts" just as much as weight lifting... as long as the stimulus on the muscle is the same..
@@LookOuch I follow different youtubers and I can tell you you can CLEARLY see the difference between Calis and Bulkers lol

Are they a couple or brothers, can’t tell
Calisthenics is cool and all, but nothing is more satisfying than killing it with a couple of dead lifts, squats, and even the bench press.
