Welcome back to another video on Invincible Season 2, and we hope you guys are enjoying this series because we have absolutely no plans of stopping.
The first episode of season 2 introduces us to a number of new characters, and one of the more important ones is a new member of the guardians of the globe… Bulletproof. Bulletproof is an incredibly powerful hero who becomes extremely important within the universe as the series goes on… even at one point taking up the mantle of Invincible himself - Zábava

Bulletproof is awesomely hilarious. Tragic backstory, but the times he tried to RIZZ up Monster girl and Eve but fails is hilarious.

I think Bulletproof felt incredibly guilty about killing his parents and faking their deaths so that made him an easy target to become another pawn of Robot when he took over the world.
He surely didnt want more pointless deaths at that point and Robot promised him not being too hard with his team mates for the sake of a better world.
His reasoning was totally understandable given the experiences he’d been through and his own perspective on them. Unfortunately, with the show bringing in so many new fans, some of them are bound to be reactionary assholes with the emotional intelligence of children.
Yeah I think the best way to describe bulletproof is tragically selfish , if that makes sense

If I remember correctly, there was also a time where Monster Girl was trying to rizz up Bulletproof. However, this was when she looked much, much younger, so Bulletproof felt unconformable about it and went to Robot to voice his unease with Monster Girl's advances. I think Robot had approached Monster Girl to talk to her to try to get her to stop.

Reminds me of that woman who got cancer as a kid and the chemo basically made her stop growing, so she looks about 11 or 12 years old

His story Is very bizarre already.
If i want "unlikeable" heroes, i prefer Ultimate Marvel instead.

He was hitting in His pregnant gf while Mark nearly died.
I hope they make his ending better. I think it would be cool if his girlfriend talks about how he betrayed his friends and how he was invincible for some time, and maybe at the final fight against robot maybe he could help defeat robot.
He chose to fight with Robot for a reason. He thought he was doing good. And after the dinosaur fiasco, he had little to say to Mark.
He thought robot was right and in a sense one could see robot’s pov as the right option
He seems like a character with potential but started off as a design the author wanted to keep using, and didn't think of his origin until late in the series. The TV series would probably be able to revise his origin better, but they would have to try squeezing in screentime for him to appear more often early on so that he has more depth before taking on the Invincible mantle
he was "almost" as strong as a lot of the original guardians.
Dude was destined to be a sidekick.
Bulletproof Deserves his Own Spin off Show
This was absolutely fucked up his parents still decided to deny the reality that his twin used him as a guinea pig, and I like that part about Bulletproof's backstory. I hope it's still incorporated in the show. It's his defining factor of who he is.
All of his bad decisions really stem from the emotional neglect and reinforcement of it over the years after he took over his brother’s identity. It’s an insane situation to be in and his parents are complete shit. I feel bad about how it went down in the end, but man, that girlfriend of his is literally Ride or Die. As hot as thick Eve was, dude was crazy to put his relationship in danger like that.
It easily writes as another origin special like Atom Eve. They really can flesh him out as a character & ignore a lot of the rest of his source material like The Boys did with A Train

I wouldn't say he was fully selfish. This is story about a man that forces to be a superhero by brother. Instead of telling his parent the truth right away of his brother dead; he try to spare them the grief. That SELFLESS. His brothers didnt love him and clearly, his parent show favoritism toward the smarter brother.

yeah, if this was RexSplode, people on here would have a totally different opinion of course, but Bulletproof is a Black man. So, the comments are almost always negative, and they wonder why Black people walk around with a chip on their shoulders. Smdh

We’re I Mark, when I saw BP for the first time, I’d say: Oh, I remember when Artie tried to sell me that suit…looks good on you. 😏
I think it does look pretty good on him. The orange and yellow goes great with his skin tone. Frankly, I’m just glad he doesn’t have electricity powers.
I actually think the suit looks pretty good on Mark’s alternate self too.

I'm not sure I'd call Bulletproof _entirely_ selfish. It often seems like he really does want to be a good person, but just doesn't have the moral fiber for it.
I dunno. Hard to say.
Im okay with a-hole characters and characters that slowly become worse, I just hope the reasoning and motive is done properly. Him aligning himself with Robot could make sense if he is offered something in exchange or if he and Robot establish a good relationship earlier in the series. Maybe the whole reason he helps Mark and Eve as a second Invincible is cause Robot puts him up to it as a way to observe the two.
i feel like a misguided attempt at undoing all his wrong is a good motivation that fits invincible's story well
A better way would either be to hold his girlfriend Carla hostage to force his corroboration, or to play on the fact he wanted to avoid hurting people after his parents died.

I was laughing when watching the show as Bulletproof turned the tables on Rex Splode after Rex tried to be typical Rex Splode and diss Bulletproof's name. HAHA

@@poptheinterpreter Suppose some hiker managed to catch a really good picture of the car being thrown over the cliff, and they released it on the internet. In the Invincible suit, everyone who knows that he is bulletproof will know he dumped the bodies. If he wore a ski mask and some civilian clothes, he would be an unknown super human in the headlines.

bulletproof's suit is the same suit that invincible tried on, in s1 ep1 at 28:14, it's not like I've watched s1 of invincible 20+ plus time or anything.

I mentioned this the video. He cuts his hair, and keeps really far away from the clients he is working for so they can't tell. Also keep in mind he is moving REALLY fast. So its harder to tell his skin color and stuff.

Nick here. Yeah this is my bad. I wrote the script sleep deprived, and shouldn't have written that considering my Monster girl and Rex videos both talk about this. I did post an update to the pinned comment immediately after the video dropped and i saw the error.

Fun fact: initially, the entire Invincible comic series was supposed to focus on Bulletproof. Like Invincible Mark Grayson, it would focus on the trial and tribulation of being a superhero along with the personal and social challenges of superhero work, plus its good, bad, and ugly aspects of it too. The insurmountable sacrifices the heroes put themselves, physically, emotionally, mentally, and socially, despite being very powerful superhumans and his public image would be equivalent to Spiderman, always being blamed for collateral damages and endangering the public despite the numerous lives he saved.
Are you waiting for season 5 or beyond to introduce (people unfamiliar with the source material) Mark and Annisa's son and Mark and Eve's daughter? I personally read the all the comic book issues of Invincible. I just watch these videos to refresh my memories of certain events and characters.

Nah his whole deal is that he’s a good guy who’s impulsivity hurts those around him, and he’s also got a lot of feelings of inferiority that drive him to act a certain way.
I Guess I wouldn’t mind seeing him avoid the spiral of bad decisions that he went down in the comics, but I thought it was fairly compelling and reasonable given his experiences.

I kinda really dig the whole playing the part of his twin bit of the backstory. That’s pretty good.
What I like about invincible is how most of the characters are... well... flawed to say the least. I haven't read the comics, but it is quite promising in terms of telling different types of stories. I don't really mind if they end up changing him a bit but I hope they don't just make him a boring ass good guy. Btw, I kind of think of mark as a boring ass good guy, but I'm curious to see how the show treats his PTSD, might make him more interesting
Mark def becomes a flawed character but ultimately he is the “good guy” in the story and usually does things a bit more boring-like
With how many characters in modern media are either flawed people or just jerks, following someone who's actually a good guy is more interesting at this point
Mark is definitely going to become more complex as his moral code and views on superheroing change, but he’s always pursuing the most altruistic form of “good” that he can, because he’s just a really fucking good guy.

Read the series so many times and I’ve never decided how I feel about Bulletproof. I kinda liked his time as Invincible but it happened so long after he was introduced that it honestly just felt odd to suddenly make a background character important. His overly dark origin and death of his parents was a joke that didn’t 100% land for me and I don’t think it will translate well to the tv show. Curious to see how/if they handle that when the time comes.
Yeah I agree with you. That whole fiasco with Carla and his parents left a really bad taste in my mouth. Feels like it was a tad bit overdone.
Honestly, the whole bit with his parents is what made me drop the series. I had a real problem with a high-profile black character being involved with all that. Given that this came at a time when the big 2 tried to add more PoC characters through legacy mantels and....yea it came off as racist satire of what was going on in the industry at the time.
@@jaqx2Really interesting perspective. I viewed it as just another ludicrously dark backstory in a universe full of them (Rex’s comes to mind), but I’m not black and I don’t read the big two so I definitely missed the wider context as well as the racial element.
Kinda disappointed with Kirkman that he wrote something that landed like that.

Actually, the whole final arc of invincible seemed like the writer just gave up on everything.
Kirkman ended the series well, but the time-travel portion of the series i didn't care for. It was used to make his kid older... but i didn't like it.
Kirkman's a hack.
The series seems to be doing things differently with him for one his recruitment into the Guardians as we see is at the same time as the Immortal's rejoining of it since the Machine Head storyline happened in Season 1 so chances are we may see other changes as the show goes on.
Id like to see SOME changed, but ultimately i hope they keep the same trajectory, i dont think he needs 2 redemption arcs
