- None of the young mothers who appeared on 16 and Pregnant have had an easy journey, but Catelynn Lowell did have the benefit of having her boyfriend (and later husband) Tyler Baltierra by her side. The two have been together since middle school, and when she discovered she was pregnant, he supported her through all of it.
The Teen Mom OG star has been through a lot of ups and downs, but she has changed herself for the better over the years, and fans are amazed at her transformation from an uncertain teen to a confident mother. I think MTV saved both Tyler & Catelynn from a life of poverty, struggle & drug addiction.
They both come from very seriously drug/alcohol addicted households, so naturally, they both started using drugs together until Catelynn got pregnant & MTV put them on a show that would change the direction of their lives & ultimately make them millionaires. Tyler & Catelynn are the true OG’s of Teen Mom. They’ve always been my favorite couple.
They never bring any drama, they’re so loyal, faithful & loving to each other & they’re just so genuine & not fake like some of the others have become.
I always admired how mature and focused Tyler was at such a young age. He balanced Cate. Tyler would speak of his goals and Cate would follow.
I didn't watch the show. Did they go to college as they planned?
They NEVER met any of their "goals" or "reasons", aka excuses, for selling their first kid.

@Stephanie Lawrence you sound like a toxic ass negative person you really have the time to foresee these people's future for them as a kid who lived in a broken home and was in and out of foster care and my mom was 16 when she had me I don't blame them for making the decision they made and I'm sure that little girl has exactly what she needs in the home she is in because adoptive parents are put through alot to be able to adopt it's rare for adoptive parents to be shittier then birth parents sometimes circumstances are overwhelming it's easy to see they didn't have stable finances as teens they wherent capable of raising a baby and they didn't have a good support system that's not there fault getting pregnant was there fault but I feel she did have good intentions she carried out that whole pregnancy I don't think ppl understand how hard it is to carry a child sometimes who cares if the ppl gave her money for carrying the baby for them that's normal your just a weirdo making it sound weird because for some reason u take other peoples lives gravely personal spend if you spent your time being less negative you learn to grow out of being such a bitter person

Tyler looks like he hasn't aged. He is very handsome. Struggling with children puts a strain on any relationship. These two are the only pair that choose adoption and the only couple still together. Maybe their common pain of growing up and missing their child bonds them. Whatever it is they have a rare and beautiful love story.

@@arithomspson2940 what I have always admired about them is that they communicate well and remain vocally clear on where they stand. Not everything gets spoken in front of the camera but I am sure that the body language we pick up on is reflecting something they do address together head-on later after the cameras stop rolling and will continually find solutions that work for them both. They both have issues outside of each other as well, for example when he got sad this season over nova asking him about his dad, but he and catelynn both support one another and take their commitment seriously through it all...as well as seeing outside intervention and therapy as needed.
While I was not a regular viewer, or in the target age group for teen mom, I remember thinking that Catelynn seemed much more mature and selfless then the other girls featured on the show
She def is selfless and has come a long way from where she was awhile ago. Maci is another great mom everything she dose is for her children out of all the teen moms Catelynn and Maci are my heavy favorites and these 2 remarkable women have remarkable men in their lives to counter more of their good points cause they both have people who love them unconditionally thou Taylor isn’t Bentley‘s blood father he’s more of a father then Ryan’s has ever been and Tyler raises his children so wonderfully he’s most def one of the better teen dads I have ever seen

I love her and Tyler. They are so grown to be so young. Its absolutely amazing how their souls are just so in tune with one another and these two were definitely destined to cross paths. They are blessed to have one another. And they are vefy aware of how many blessings they have. They are just so grown. .
Nova is a the spitting image of Tyler. She’s a beautiful little girl.

I've always loved this couple. Tyler is so protective and supportive....and on his own accord. (His mom questions things occasionally and Tyler is right there to answer...and make sense)

Catelynn was always my favorite out of All of the teen moms, she was so raw and authentic ab her journey. The sadness you feel when you hear her story is so deep that its inspiring. Im so Happy she is living her dream she really earned every bit of it
I have watched these two from the very beginning, and I can honestly say that they are definitely soul mates. I am so proud of their accomplishments and sacrifice beyond what any teenage couple to marriage has achieved. God bless both of you.
I have always loved this young couple. I respect them to be able to stand in their truths, be authentic, transparent with the real life ups & downs being dealt their way, and still sticking together as a team! BRAVO to them! Heck my son cries if I go to check the mail or take the trash out... it's completely normal if you are a stay at home momma js... and we all need self care to be able to care of our babies!

I remember me and my older brother SCREAMING our heads off when my mom ran out to take the garbage out and it was slightly lightning lmao. We were crying so hard thinking she was gonna die from the lightning within the 30 seconds that she was outside. Kids can and will be ridiculous at times no matter how good the parenting is!
They have always been my favorite couple. I was adopted at 14 months so I feel like I bonded with them through that even though I’m way older than them
They come from such turbulent backgrounds. Its amazing that they're still 2gether. If they stay the course they will only learn 2 love eacother more & more.Don't quit just b/c it's hard Relationships are. Much respect 2 them both

I love these two!! I pray they continue to work on their marriage and personal issues!! One day Carly will be free to have a relationship with them. The best thing Carly’s parents could do is build a close relationship with Tyler and Caitlin. Hanging onto Carly so tightly will backfire. I know because I went through this as a child. The tighter my adoptive parents held on the more I wanted away.

These 2 are both absolutely beautiful. And they both together have come so far and done so in such an inspiring way to so many young souls. They work hard and take amazingly-good care of their family members. I just love them both. I hope today in 2021 they are still going strong. Today and always.

My husband and I started from 5 years old, and had our first kid at 18, by our 4th so young we had to put our daughter up for adoption.... It's the hardest thing, but it feels good to know that the baby grew up with wanting nothing and is happy..., Still to this day 24 years later, my husband gives me butterflies!!!❤️

I always felt like Tyler stayed because, catelynn made him feel guilty. Tyler is the nurturer of the 2, that is obvious; so I feel like he feels obligated to "take care" of her, because she has abandonment issues. I wish them but luck in finding peace within themselves, with their pasts. And being able to truly live in peace within their future. I also wonder how her mom is taking responsibility for All of the childhood trauma catelynn has?!

Teen Mom has got to be the worst show ever put out. Other teen moms have talked about the more kids you pop out the more cash you get. These kids are used for nothing but cash cows. Tyler left her when she was having a break down. Said they needed a break and then went out and screwed other women. All she does is cries about how unfair life is. I can’t stand these 2 will be glad when their kids are raised and there is nothing else about them out there.
They have the cutest kids. They made a great choice and that house at that time with their parents and the instability. Proud of them but the both have attachment issues but that's to be expected.

They were my favorite on the show. For being so young, they were making mature moves. It appears their first child was a saving grace for them. Seems as if life would have been the opposite for them. I'm not for babies having babies, but they did a good job. Putting the first child up for an open adoption was great. They knew they couldn't properly care for her but still wanted to be in her life. I loved that. They're a beautiful couple/family.

My thought exactly. I don't agree with people who are mentally unstable having kids, I mean look at all the horrible things that happen with people like that. Like why do you not need an assessment before bringing life into the world when you have to have them to do things a lot less impactful and serious like applying for some jobs lol

I truly hope Carly watches this and sees how much they wanted to give her the best and how hard it was for them to let her go...the adoptive parents make me so mad they keep her from them years apart. Cary might resent that someday especially when she finds she has 3 sisters they they kept her from.
I’ve always felt that too. I think it’s really terrible what Brandon and Theresa has done. I understand that maybe they don’t want to be reminded all the time their daughter is adopted but they should have went with a closed adoption then. I really love them. They have grown into great people especially with the cards they were dealt.
I think Brandon and Theresa maybe didn’t know quite what they were getting into with MTV. Probably figured it would be a simple and done documentary.

I give them alot of credit for two people that come from such dysfunction they sure do have a healthy relationship. Sadly one day their older daughter's most likely going to be angry that they they gave her away but kept their following children.
They gave up their first baby so they could go to "college" followed by getting pregnant 4 more times. What did they get degrees in? Just curious...
She can keep having babies cause she's gone to treatment in another state most of the time.Tyler carries 98.% of the weight of life!

They knew they were getting paid for the show from the time she got pregnant at 16 and got picked to be one of the cast members so why were they claiming they couldn’t give the child a good life?? And to have two more girls after Carly. They are way more financially stable now than Brandon and Teresa will ever be. And Brandon And Teresa are being very strict with how her biological parents spend time or communicate with her and her sisters. They should be more open to it. It was an open adoption. Carly could hate them later in life for not allowing her to get to know her bloodline. I have a feeling Carly is going to rebel when she’s older because of it. If it were me I would still rather stay with my bloodline even if my parents were young than be adopted out. Because look at Nova and Vadas life now it’s a great life. With their real parents and another on the way. I can’t help but feel so sad for CArly.

They have always been my fave teen mom couple. I could be wrong I don’t keep up with all teen moms on the show but I believe they r the only couple that stayed together. They have their daughter up and ended up staring a family together as adults. I think they r so strong and I love them together.

I haven’t watched a lot of them but I have watched a little bit every year and their first two years and the one they had the miscarriage. I couldn’t believe these two started this journey as kids. They are amazing and an inspiration for so so many parents and people regardless of age. I’m a 40 year old parent struggling with mental help and learned a thing or 12 from them!!

Wow they look so different, katelyn with her pink hair looks amazing, she has tatts, which I noticed a few weeks ago, sometimes she looks old and unwell.

Tyler is so muscley, he's soo good to his kids and katelyn, I do rember one episode where he told her to lose weight, she was eatting a quasadia or something, lol. But he's always been by her side.

I been here since before lockdown, u live with my best friend, she has also no kids, she's 44.
