The song was written by Bellamy for the Olympics, and it was chosen by the Olympics Committee as the official song of the 2012 Olympic Games in London. It’s in the vein of Queen’s We Will Rock You, just a song to get a crowd pumped
Makes sense and certainly worked on the crowd here!
The Music Director for the London Olympics were from another very well known group, Underworld.

That entire concert is great. Unfortunately, I had to watch it on DVD. Can only imagine what it would had been like to be there in person. I believe you guys covered Plug in Baby and Knights of Cydonia from that concert. Check out Madness, Time is Running Out, Uprising, and Explorers from that concert.

Had to watch it twice to pin it down, reminds me of a bombastic version of Innuendo by Queen. I've heard it suggested Bellamy should guest with Queen instead of Lambert, can you imagine the dueling guitars from him and May?

When I watched them do this at the 2012 Olympics it made me proud to be British
I had already moved to the USA, didn't know they played - Cool!
I was there and it was an amazing night. My highlights from that night were Supremacy, Map of the Problematique, Knights of Cydonia, Stockholm Syndrome and Survival. Shame a couple of those didn't make it onto the dvd :(
