  • Shruti Nakka found out she was pregnant and unmarried. She decided to abort the kid, but when she listened to the baby’s heartbeat for the first time, she decided to keep the baby. Despite being in a relationship for five years, her partner refused to take any responsibility. She has since raised her child single handedly. This is her story…

If you have the guts to get a girl pregnant, then have the guts to stand up to your family for her. She trusted you with her body, now you can't just break off and run away.

@@avishekmukhopadhyay6086 Watever man... I feel if the guy has the guts to get her pregnant then have the audacity to say he's a coward & he cannot do this, then any girl would be heartbroken in the end. I understand the situation he maybe in he was not ready to talk to his parents yet, not ready to take her responsibility yet... but all that translates that he was not ready to take this relationship seriously. And he should do a self-analysis after this of what kind of person he truly is. In the end, he is truly a Coward, but has the spontaneity of thoughts to let lust take over & have sex with her without a condom (sorry if you feel this is blunt) despite very well knowing the situation at his home & how he'll not be able to stand up for her.... let alone she did not even feel safe with him anymore to at least call him for help after she got kicked out of the house.. This speaks Volumes! Even though it was her decision to keep the baby, it was his responsibilty too to make sure she doesn't get pregnant then make her go through this tough phase all alone. I'm saying all this despite being a guy... coz I truly believe what I say & I know what single mothers have to go through alone.

I remember once in seventh grade my social science teacher (who was also my relative) had shamed single mothers in a class and called them "irresponsible" despite knowing the fact that my mother was one herself. Being my teacher, the way she told that to the whole class made me embarrassed, hurt and disappointed at her. But I am proud of my mother because despite of having such unsupportive and ignorant relatives around, she stood tall with me. A year later, she married for the second time and now after five years we live a nice and "complete" family. Not gonna lie, the time that I was with my mother alone will always be stored in my mind as a golden gift.
In my earlier years I never knew what having a father felt like, so I could never relate to what my friends used to say about theirs. But I was aware that fathers are a basic necessity for children while they grow. I emphasised with people with fathers even though I myself never had one. Just shows that a woman has enough power in her hand to break social myths and raise a kid with empathy and kindness so that it can reflect that in the world and respect anyone and everyone with differences.

Yes one can do whatever they want with life, sleep around and stuff I don't get to tell you what to do, but remember the child didn't consent to that so u have to take responsibility accordingly. Also, it's the couple's mutual choice of practicing protected or unprotected sex (in case they know the consequence). If the couple is tested negative for STD prior, there will be no risk of transmission. Regarding the risk of getting pregnant(in case undecided), there are multiple emergency contraceptives. (Cannot ignore contraceptive failure rates also)
But yes, we cannot ignore the negligence and carelessness of people in all cases. Lack of knowledge and maturity cause most unwanted pregnancies. Does not mean such people need to be shunned although.

      So your answer is.
      (1) Yes, of course both genders have hormones. It's not only boys who change a lot of partners, there are so many women too. I have seen many cases of divorce where boys want to stay but the girl is cheating on him for other men. So yeah, this thing happens from both sides.
      (2) Yes, they do. Not to women but men also do so. These are all biological. And because of this we have laws on adultery.

As a mother... I truly understand ur emotions towards ur child. Motherhood is amazing.... it puts u in a vulnerable position in society ( being a single mother is the least easy thing, thanks to the ppl around u. Whether ur single... or a divorcee or a widow) but it makes YOU move mountains for ur child and tolerate the burns the world gives. It astonishes me how a man can escape society's wrath of shame in a mutual relationship. Just walk away...and he's safe.... how easy huh!
Stay strong and be a fighter coz u did the right thing in choosing ur baby. Having gone through a painful childhood, I'm sure ur subconsciously mind wanted to be a mother and give ur kid all that u didn't get. I understand u. I wish u the very best. And ur baby is a cutiepie. Lots of love! I suggest.. study simultaneously... Work.... exercise and maintain health... make savings. Health ... qualification ( to ensure job) and money are very important in raising a child.

I would personally never risk getting pregnant without getting married because I can't manage a kid alone . It's a very difficult job . However I really appreciate this lady's bravery .My friend as well had 2 abortions in a 5year relationship because the guy was a coward to tell his family . I really wish there is a law in India where if a guy gets a girl pregnant, he should pay for the kids expenses equally. It's a shame that no one takes strict action on this . So so disheartening . @THE ZOLDICS you are right, it's not the thing the women did for which we should give her a round of applause. Look sex is important but before that communication, consent and commitment is important which marriage gives. That's why it may look like i have an old school thinking but if a man marries to a women it shows commitment. After that we should think about kids. Now the women is raising the kid, but about her relationship with her parents? Wo rishtey tohtut Gaye na

@THE ZOLDICS Hey you !! I have been seeing your comment here and there talking sh*t about that woman. See, that's what a mom does. She's about to become a mom. And she has all the rights of keeping that baby or not. And you should just stay out of that business. And no that is not at all shame. Iam pretty sure you have your mom right ? Just get some sense and shame from her.

She acted really stupid and got what she deserved. The man had already stated he didn't wanted a child but still she didn't aborted the child thinking that he will have a sudden change of a heart. Life isn't a Bollywood movie where the hero will begin loving her. She is sort of blaming the man but the point is he didn't raped her rather they had sex with mutual consent. Though the man didn't used a condom which is quite idiotic. Still she had the opportunity to abort the child but changed the decision to do so at the last moment. Both should be blamed for all this drama. The man told her himself that he has a very conservative family and she should have understood that the relationship wasn't serious from his perspective. It can also be that he talked about that to his family but got rejected to marry her but decided not to tell her. Men always leave a lot of clues if they aren't serious about a girl but many girls play dumb enough to not understand that or usually don't want to understand those out of desperation. Nevertheless she is happy and is able to live with her baby as a single mother is what now matters.
