    Great, simple but inspiring video.
    I have a question.
    Since I do not own a H3 yet but am looking into buying one, which should I fovcus on.
    I see plenty of 2006/07s with the 3.5 and 3.7l's.
    Bu I've come to understand that they are kind of underpowered for such a heavy suv.
    I have my eyes on an Alpha with the 5.3 V8 (rare here in scandinavia). It is abput €10.000 more, yet with very low milage.
    It does not have rear diff. locker. But I am not going to do any rock climbing. Maybe some overlanding in the future.

    Is it possible to put a h3 5 cylinders 09-10 front differential to a H3t alpha ?
    I have a hummer H3T alpha 2010 and my front differential doesn’t work any more, what can I do to fix my problem? I tried on looking for all the parts of the differential and fix it but I couldn’t find all of them , and I was looking to put a front differential from a H3 5 cylinders but i don’t know if that’s possible, what can I do in my case?

    Hey, just a little tip... that rear cargo mat is made to be cut for those strap-downs(if necessary). I'm surprised they didn't have a "scissors" symbol engraved for the inlet. The mats I bought had them, though it was for a different car.

    • @4lowmode
      @4lowmode  Před 4 lety +1

      Thanks! In general H3s are really reliable and only require general maintenance. Some of the issues you could start to see come with higher mileage H3s in the area of 160K-200K miles with the regular I5 version. Basically in this range, some of the I5 motors go bad and need replacement. That being said however, if you do a good job of maintenance, they can last well past 250K miles. If you get the V8 version, called the Alpha, the engine will last even longer. Somewhere in the range of 300K to 350K. Right now, my grey 2008 H3 Alpha has 250K and is still going strong. If you are looking to get an H3, I would really recommend buying one with less than 100K miles that way you don't run into any problems right after buying it. Before purchasing anything, I would strongly recommending doing a PPI (Pre Purchase Inspection) where you have the vehicle you are looking to buy inspected by a mechanic / shop that you (Not the Seller) choose.

      cnaranjofe I just bought one this week dirt cheap with 90k miles. I’m already loving it. I’ll let you in on a little secret. I work in the automotive field in a busy shop. Even the new $40k jeeps have problems. And most sexy women do too. It never stopped me from marring my crazy wife or buying a h3. Most cool things in life need more attention. It is a risk. I have a friend that owns one since new and has 120k miles on his 09 base model and has maintained it well and only had to do rear leaf springs. Crazy because he has never been off road washes it weekly with undercarriage wash and his frame still has the oem paint on it. Can’t figure out why the driver side broke. And no he doesn’t trailer stuff either. It’s fun to look at and be in.

      my brother has 07 h3 with 494,000 miles, it has i5 in it, still runs strong, no major issues, i got 06 h3 with 121k miles, runs excellent, had to replace u joint though. H3's are a lot more reliable than jeeps. And any vehicle , even most reliable ones will not last if neglected on maintenance pretty bad

      kerktam wow half a million! The H3 in many respects was almost “over engineered” thankfully. We’ve run ours almost to 200,000k and have had zero major issues with it. In fact, we went huckleberry picking yesterday and did 60 miles on some pretty pot-hole ridden forest roads and it per usual, it did just fine.

    • @4lowmode
      @4lowmode  Před 4 lety

      I am not, but anything like that would have to be custom fitted as I do not believe anyone has done that before. Plenty of people have fit 7in Jeep headlights in their H3s, but you do have to fit them yourself. Unfortunately there isn't a plug and play solution out there at the moment

    • @4lowmode
      @4lowmode  Před 5 lety +2

      Thanks! The way I fixed my sunroof was by drilling a hole in the rubber piece the connects the draintubes to the firewall. There are a couple videos out there on the topic, but none of them are that good. Also I made sure that my drain tubes were connected at the top where the sunroof water catch pan is.

    • @nolbertopomareda8094
      @nolbertopomareda8094 Před 5 lety +1

      I concluded that the only way to avoid leaks is to make the seal tighter. In Florida it would rain hard and I could smell the moisture inside. The sunroof drain are somewhat slow.. and a moving car will cause the water on the water tray to spill. I bought a Z-shape 3M weatherstrip and placed on the sunroof panel edge with the loose side facing outwards. Once the sunroof opens, the loose part will go under the sunroof edge, hence being trapped between the sunroof seal and sunroof window frame. No more leaks or smells for me. I don't open the sunroof that often anyway. To top it I installed a B shape weather strip (5mm) behind the door seals to make the seals tighter. A lot cheaper than replacing the OEM door seals. smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MFJJR47/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

      Clint Golub below your dash and under on both sides you’ll find a plastic tube line running down from the sunroof which is the drain, once the tube runs out you’ll find grommets attached to the end of tube and you’ll remove the tube from the grommets and then remove grommets. Once grommet is removed look down it and you see crosshairs and that is the problem, they get clogged easily. So now take a drill bill and remove those crosshairs and that’s it. No more clogs, no more water dripping on the floor board.

      If you are referring to the plastic mud guards that you can get from Amazon or Husky Liners that are a direct fit, they are very small and when you put on larger tires and look comically undersized. I would avoid them because they aren't going to cover the whole tire. Also they are very to easy to rip off when offroad.
