Edit: Just once, you're done with baking, and you placed the dough at the baking pan. Place it at the freezer for an hour before you bake it . It would be much more crusty.

did you pre heated your oven?
Haniya Ali Yes, always. Never put cookies or cakes into a cold oven. Pre-heating simply means - turn your oven on... wait until it reaches the temperature indicated in your recipe,
then place your items into the oven to bake. All ovens will make a "beep" ( noise ) to alert you that your oven is ready and has attained the correct temp for baking.

Q: do you have a cookie cake recipe that uses sprinkles and is firm/chewy similar to this recipe? I would sub out the
choco chips for sprinkles yet I noticed that most of the cookie cakes with sprinkles have a lighter colored dough.

I tried this recipe today and it was absolutely the best ...I very rarely repeat my recipes ( since there are millions of new recipes to pick from youtube these days)but this is sure going to be a frequent in my home as my husband praised it with each bite !
also I halved the recipe as I had limited brown sugar and chocolate chips at hand and though it baked perfect I had to keep it in the oven for almost 35 minutes to get a nice crisp on the top

Sandya Neelagiri Hi Sandya, you must always pre-heat your oven. *NEVER* put a cake or cookies into a COLD oven. This is NOT good, and you will produce bad results. I hope this helps Sandya, and thank you for watching :-) .... so to clarify - get your oven going about 20 minutes before you think you will need to put your cookies in .... you should hear an audio "beep" indicating your oven is at the correct temperature. Then - you know you are ready to go and all will be OK :-)

Riya Mol you should not have this problem, if you want to make more sure, you can put a baking tray under your cookie tray which will diffuse the heat, and make it more of an even heat on the bottom of your pan. You should not have any problem though. Bake on the middle rack in your oven.

Regards the brown sugar ...... In my country we get soft moist brown sugar and light dry brown sugar. Which is yours in the recipe? It looks like moist brown sugar to me.

I did something similar and I used olive oil bc it’s tasteless but make sure just to use a paper towel to lightly wipe the pan with oil so there’s not too much :)
Hi there, you could use a non-stick baking pan, and other than that, I would grease the sheet, either with some butter or oil, and then I would dust the pan with flour ( use the same technique you would use when baking a cake )

+Paola Ali Hi there ! I'd add in about 1/2 a teaspoon. You may add more, but I'd about that much. You don't want it too salty. 1/2 a teaspoon is 2.5 ml or about 2 grams.

Hello, certainly you can make this into cookies instead, you'll scoop out your dough, and then just bake it like many of my other recipes for cookies... about 10 minutes or so at 350 degrees F.

Should I chill the dough before baking?
