      Boss! base on my research on mosfet! N channel mosfet are better for DIY BATTERY PACK, because they have a quick response on & off ability. however you must not exceed the current limit of the mosfet to avoid mosfet blown up. other than that cheap spot welding from Chinese are very poor quality of traces! for that reason you must increase the thickness of the traces so that current flow smothly. anyway this latest spot welding installed IRL40SC209, 478A 40V RDS on 0.6M ohm and the max 0.8m ohms. if my response not clear for you are welcome to asked more questions. thanks for taking time watching my review boss.

      You can create two power source, 12-16V power wall and the battery. The battery you used for spot welding power supply, wall power supply. a few CZcamsr call it power wall then the negative input From the battery goes to input welding board and the positive goes derictly to the test prove. By powering off you only unplug the wall power supply. And I think that's the only way.

    Curious how you’re getting good welds with 0.3mm nickel at gear 15. I have to go above 90 to get welds that are strong enough to tear the strip. At around 40 is where they begin to take hold but I can pull most of them apart. Have you had these results on actual batteries as well? Any thoughts as to why I’d have to go so high. Batteries I’m using should theoretically be able to deliver 1170 amps.

    • @pitikaron
      @pitikaron  Před rokem

      If that's the max peak current it is possible but you should expect for current drop due to the plate not being thick enough. To avoid burning the MOSFET you must separate the power source for switching on/off and your 21700 cell pack for your welding current. But the power source/supply must be the same Voltage to your 21700 cel pack 8.4V. moreover 200A ideal for 0.15 nickel plate.

    Hi! Any test using lead acid car batteries? I have some 45Ah-100Ah (capable of 800Amp at 12V) but in the manual they say it can burn the welder and I have to use max 45Ah and at least 1 year old lead acid car battery.
    From Ali description:
    "The old lead-acid battery 12V 20AH-100AH (the new battery cannot exceed 45AH) and the 20AHI old lead-acid battery cannot exceed one year. The older it is, the bigger the capacity.
    Or: 4-5 strings of super Farad capacitors"
    I am not sure if I understood well, maybe 20Ah must be max 1 year old and 45Ah can be new,but 45-100Ah must be many years old.
    And where to put the super capacitors? Shoukd they be in parallel and I could use my 100Ah new battery?

      Sorry I never had to try using a 100Ah lead acid battery. Moreover I don't have any idea the difference between lead and RC car battery. My advice is just compare the specification of lead acid and RC car battery and if it is relevant or similar then I think it could be useful but remember I never had a chance to use a lead acid battery. But for your safety just stick to it to your 45ah I think.

      Yes according to the seller and the brand is Gaoneng. 1550mah 3S 4X of 3S 1P I replaced the stock 12 gauge wire into 10 gaugewire and I connected parallel so that the voltage still the same 12V 3S 4P so 1550mah × 4= 6100mah × 100C = 6100A burst current

      Thank you again Piti. It looked like 4 cells to me but I got confused when I saw 3 red wires and no ground at first. Then I saw you hook up a red wire with black tape to ground I figured maybe 3 ground wires and 2 more hot red wires were on other side of pack.

      Actually it is all red wire but to make it sure that I can't mess up connection/flug in to the spot welder I wrap with black tape for negative Identification. Just a question. I see you recomand everyoane that the car batt is capable of 500A discharge. Just curios where does it say that? Because the manual states that if new, the car batt should not excede 45A capacity, well good luck on finding a car batt that is 45A and can do 500A. I've bought a 44A (390A peack discharge) that's how they usualy come. I've seen 500-600A at batt of 60-75A but then you're not as by the manual with the 45A limit. They all talk on videos about this device pulling 300A. So..where is the 500A number come from? Thanks!

    • @pitikaron
      @pitikaron  Před rokem +1

      If I recommend the car battery I am so sorry, but I reviewed my video I didn't say anything in regards to the car Battery that can discharge 500A instead of doing a review if the spot welding machine can work well/weld firmly. Anyway one comment below asking me if he/she can use the car battery and I said yes as long as it won't exceed 16V and can also manage/discharge 500A?

      @@pitikaron Yes, that is are the comments regarding 500A. But nevermind..I was having trouble spot welding and seeing your comm I thought my batt is low power but then I've found I was presing too hard on the tips and then even at max power the spot welds are weak. Several people were talking about that on a vid comments, glad I've saw that. Now at a quarter power makes strong welds if I just barely touch them..

    • @pitikaron
      @pitikaron  Před rokem +1

      Yeah don't press to much, as long as the two TIPS contact to the NICKEL STRIP it will weld firmly but base in my experience I push enough strength so that the nickel strip and the battery contact firmly.

From 1500 -2700A for the car battery you mentioned. For that battery you need to modify the board (simple) to not dip in voltage too much and use several high amp diodes from minus to plus of the battery otherwise you'll blow up you fets guaranteed
