Great info from my favourite presenter/angler. Cheers Phil, I've saved the clip as I want to try sea fishing at some point. Great video and links.

    Hi Phil,
This was a really good informative short video. I liked that you didn't try to plug expensive rods at the start. That gave the flavour for the rest of the video from the get go. Super advice on using a fingerstall too. In windy conditions i wouldn't use braid though due to wind knots.

Hi great video I'm just starting out have a 10ft rod would I need to update it to something bigger or would that work?

Hi Lance, a 10ft rod would be suitable for close range fishing. A longer rod would be more suitable, especially for casting greater distances.

One very basic rule that I always say to newcomers is to fish when it suits the fish and not when it suits you. The peak times for fish to feed are around 2-4 hours long so find out when they are. You wouldn't stand on any street corner and hope a bus came long would you? You would check out the routes and get yourself a timetable, then you would be in the right spot and you would be there at the right time. If you are thinking of starting then go for it as this is a fascinating sport and you never stop learning.

How do you research the 2-4 hour feeding time?
      Cheers Alan

@@hurstdale2 hours before low/high tide, 2 hours after. 4 hours is all you need.

Very helpful video and a really good 'to the point' delivery - unlike so many out there. I shall be buying from your store.
