  • In this video we look at the different items I take with me when lure fishing for bass. Take a look at the lures I will be using for 2021 season such as the patchenko, asturie, Abu garcia tormentor and pirate lures teasers to name a few. Describe different lures and what they are used for and We look at how to set up soft plastics. Lastly we take a look over the ground where I will be fishing at low tide to show you the kind of areas that will potentially hold bass.

    Hi why do you need a leader line, why cant you just attach the lure to the main fishing line. Great video thanks for posting

    • @TheEastbourneFisherman
      @TheEastbourneFisherman  Před rokem

      Hi thanks for commenting
      Technically you can do a straight connection
      The leader line acts as a more hardened line which is more abrasive to dragging on the rocks and such you will be fishing over
      So instead of straight braid which if it rubs on rocks ect will cut the leader will be more Hardy and less likely to break
      Also using a fluorocarbon line is like invisible In the water meaning more of a natural lure presentation
      Alot of people so prefer using a leader
      However if you fish clean beaches then going direct will work

    Nice video! Newbie here. Why do you need a leader can’t you just attach the lure to the line?? Cheers.

    • @TheEastbourneFisherman
      @TheEastbourneFisherman  Před 15 dny

      Braid on its own around rocks is pretty non abrasion resistant
      On a clean beach you can prob get away with it
      The use of a fluro carbon leader acts as a rubbing leader meaning if it brushes against rocks it's less Likley to cut than straight braid
      Also the fluro leader is pretty much invisible in the water so it makes your lure look more realistic
      Hope this helps :)

    • @TheEastbourneFisherman

      Personally i prefer braid it doesnt stretch and is easier to work the topwaters and pop them.
      Only downside is its less abrasive so a leader is needed.
      I have been trying just straight braid tho so will let you know how i get on with it.
      But most lure anglers will have a braid mainline

      I only use a small leader of around 2ft
      When i cast i like the knot to be out of the top eye of the rod
      Some people use a longer leader which wraps around the reel and is the same length as the rod
      I guess its all down to personal preference and how snaggy the ground is that your fishing over

    Better off with no knots going through the eyes like this man says 👍

    What is the purpose of a fluorocarbon leader?

    • @TheEastbourneFisherman
      @TheEastbourneFisherman  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Acts as a rubbing leader
      Braid can snap easy over rocks and reef
      The leader acts as a buffer when playing in fish
      Also the fluro carbon is practically invisible in the water so the lure looks more natural 😎

    Just bought a rod like yours, as a novice - what does the 10-35g mean?

    • @TheEastbourneFisherman
      @TheEastbourneFisherman  Před 9 měsíci

      Welcome to lure fishing
      The addiction is real!
      The g rating is how much weight it can cast from and to
      So 10grams - 35grams

      @@BrianHarrisNI not really, some fish will see line in the water and not go for a hook tho
