I spent 7 days in Portugal because of the basketball photos I made in New York City. A former German basketball player turned business owner, Jan, invited me to the countryside in Portugal to work on a story together. He allowed me full access to his home and businesses to document his life and the beauty of the country.
I used my two Leica M6's and even a Leica M10-R to document this entire trip.

Love Portugal for street photography! The light is amazing and the streetscapes are excellent backdrops for street.

Chinese American from San Francisco here, living in France with a Portuguese French wife. We go to Portugal every summer and while it's nice the first two weeks of doing nothing, I grew up as a city kid so I'll always prefer city life. But you're wondering, and so did my wife, asking when ever we go to Paris, you really like it here and would live here? Of course no way. As much as what Americans you'll say oh waking up to seeing the Eiffel tower and blah blah blah, nope. The people, the way you get around, the smell, even the vibe is not the same. I don't hate everything about it in France (or Europe) but you better be ready for the slowness of just daily things and other stuff which I'm not going to touch on... Lived here seven years now so I know what I'm talking about.. I think.

It just goes to show that you should share the work you’re passionate about. You never know what might come from it. All it takes is one person to relate to it and here you’ve just opened a whole new avenue of opportunities.
