Apparently TC expected the author of the video to take on 3000 cyberdemons in a fair fight, lol.
Right, so by popular demand, I decided to recalculate the time it would take to kill 3,000 cyberdemons with the varius vanilla weapons. off we go.
Cyberdemons have 4000hp thus the crowd has 12,000,000hp total. Asuming you inflict average damage and never miss, here's what you get:
Fist: 1,090,909 punches over 6 Days, 7 Hours, 30 Minutes, and 54 Seconds.
Pistol: (redone): 1.2M shots over 5 Days, 13 Hours, and 20 Minutes.
Shotgun: 169,888 shells over 2 Days, 1 Hour, 1 minute, and 10 Seconds.
Chaingun: 1.2m shots over 1 Day, 13 Hours, 49 Minutes, and 24 Seconds.
Chainsaw: 1,090,909 teeth over 1 Day, 13 Hours, 52 Minutes, 44 Seconds
S. Shotgun: 57,000 shells over 22 hours, 40 Minutes, and 33 seconds.
Rockets: 135,000 rockets over 20 Hours, 57 Minutes, and 52 Seconds.
Berzerk: 111,000 hits over 15 Hours, 9 Minutes, and 6 Seconds.
Plasma Gun: 384,000 shots over 12 Hours, 40 Minutes, and 28 Seconds.
BFG: 6000 shots over 1 Hour, 8 Minutes, and 58 Seconds.

It would take 3000 shots over the period of 1.55x10^-54 seconds. That's 1.55 Septendecillionths of a second. This literally exceeds the amount of physically measurable time (plank time 5.39056e-44.)

the game is limited by capabilities of the engine itself; the engine itself will crash long before it reaches the max capacity of modern day hardware

Do you not get that the game itself Runs by its own standards and the engine of the game will crash itself, due to Doom's small amount of memory it takes up, it could never crash a modern day computer unless programmed to via external editing by something that isnt the game itself

I think these modified weapons are actually part of the wad, the cheating he did was giving himself unlimited ammo, unreasonable health, and flying.

Honestly, to see a 5 year old comment all excited about it getting close to a million, with it 1177057 now, it's kind of not encouraging, it still means probably like 3 quarters of the views it ever got up to now were in the first 6-7 years.

Epic slaughter, but what's really interesting is the spatial distribution of deaths shown at the end- the asymmetric layered clustering is a fascinating result. Kinda like an emergent effect.
For those of you who think cod is better than Doom you are WRONG. As much as I love cod, here's the thing: you are guided through the game, regenerate health after getting hit and such. But Doom, just you. You gotta find your way through the levels yourself, and you have to find items and health and ammo yourself. Also it's just you, and the hell-spawned demons who just kill you because they see you. Badasses like us play doom. Not those wimpy 9-12 year old boys. I do love to play cod, but I'm all about original man!

I played this right until the end, albeit with some cheats to make it even slightly possible to actually clear the level. Even with that, it took me about a whole hour kill every Cyberdemon (although I did start to turn cheats off and increase the difficulty of play as the number of remaining Cyberdemons became smaller). I must say, it was a long hour of hard work, and I felt like I'd run a marathon when I'd finally finished. I'll never forget this crazy WAD...
I think the amount of monsters or sprites the engine could put up at once on that kind of hardware back then was extremely impressive.

How your weapons are so fast? That supershotgun is superfast! Even if i code sv_fastweapons 2 in the console, the guns wont become THAT FAST!? How is that you do it? Whats the code?
This was done by the dehacked patch included with the download. The dehacked patch allows him to remove animation frames and go right to the shooting and idle frames, removing the other animations.

I like the overview shot and everything before you started killing the Cyberdemons but the one thing that would have truly made this so badass is if you started blaring Demon Hunter's "Storm the Gates of Hell" right when you started killing!
