I have also replaced my latigos on my riding and pack saddles for some of the reasons you have. I also like how the nylon is slicker when cinching up as it slides on itself better. With saying all that, it is ugly and non traditional, so I only use it on latigos. Thanks for the videos.
Good day Tracy..the spider straps are of the same nylon material...I have made the pads out of a 1/4" felt material and sew the rings in place with 11/2" nylon...I have stopped using buckles and holes instead I use a 1" SS Slide.... cheaper and I can get an exact measurement on the straps...If you wish more info call me....tele # at bottom of home page www.mtcanaryco.com

I was wondering about the spider, how or if it was made with the same strapping material?
