    been using Schuberth for 20 some years now maybe more, SC1 was my favorite, it was so so quiet, never had to wear earplugs, so comfy, best helmet ever, I been riding for over 50 years so I tried a few helmets in my time, Schubert all the way, not so hot on graphics but for comfort and quiet... hale yes, I have what 5 of them at the moment, the FM radio has me at the moment, or my MP3's? yup

    Amazing helmet! I've always thought why there was no front filter in the majority of helmets out these days. If you have to ride through construction zones with cement clouds or having to go through sand storms etc. A filter is essential!! I'm very interested!! Thanks for this video!

    It looks like a nice helmet.
    That sais, reviewers, such as yourself need to start denouncing the bullcrap comm units deals that Sena likes to make.
    I have a neotec 2 on the way, and I am NOT looking forward to the struggle of installing my Cardo system on it.
    If Sena wants to get more market shares from the competition, maybe, just maybe, they would be better off making better products, rather than trying to force helmet buyers into their brand through crappy deals.
    As for Shoei and Schuberth... come on!!! Your lids are fantastic!! Don't do this! Arai doesn't need to force one brand on comm systems to sell helmets! Neither do you!!
    STOP IT!!

    • @BikerHeadz
      @BikerHeadz  Před 2 lety +1

      We hear what you're saying but it's a matter of safety. Helmets cannot be homologated with after market comms systems installed. The helmets are now tested with the integral comms system installed so the C5 passes 22.06 with the Schuberth Sena SC2 system fitted. It probably would not, however, pass the test with an aftermarket system stuck to the shell. Schuberth are a company that will always choose safety over everything. Hope this helps

    • @DanielFriis
      @DanielFriis Před 2 lety +8

      @@BikerHeadz Now that’s a pathetic excuse. Homologating it with a poor system in place or something which might not be compatible with your friends’ systems forces the user to slap on an aftermarket system anyway which makes your point completely moot. And it just makes the helmet more expensive! The fact that there isn’t a standard in the comm market is bad in itself but Shoei and Schubert can at least try to not make it worse by forcing something on us that we don’t want. If I could choose either Sena or Cardo with this helmet, then fine, but in this case I either have to pick another model/brand of helmet or pay for an integration I’ll never use. You as a reviewer can choose to make your voice heard and perhaps help to make a change or you can just keep sucking up to anyone willing to send you review material.

    technical question Schuberth C5 sizing chart sucks. I am 58cm and L is too big. Can I buy the "oval head padding kit" for the size M and fit this to the L? the shell sizes are the same, but not sure if the inner fixed padding changes sizes or its just done with the changeable paddings. So I am asking can I change an L into M with a padding kit?

    Getting a little pissed off that these helmet manufacturers keep making deals with sena and not cardo to supply their helmets. I had the SRL system on my Neotec 2 and although it was fine, my friends use Cardo so I had to make the switch.
    Either they need to cater to both sides or even better Cardo and Sena need to support each others mesh network!

      hey Jack, did you use Cardo with C5? How was the installation like? Did you had to cut the buil-in speakers or make any other cuts which make the helmet less worthy in the future. I'm asking because I plan to buy C5 and I own Cardo (Bold and Freecom 4+) and I'm not sure if should go for Sena in order to have a smooth helmet or just mount my Cardo in it.

      Sound quality is better and its a little nicer to use for the most part. It does stick out more obviously, but it fits fine.
      If you have mates on one system or the other then choose that system. Otherwise the sena unit is fine if you want something streamlined. I just wish these companies could get along and have helmets that could accept built in units from both manufacturers.... but thats a pipe dream

Reason why is I do most of my riding in the day and if and when it gets dark outside I ride with my external visor up and my clear inside visor down. Sadly, Shuberth doesn't make a clear inside visor for the C5 (yet) so I'll have to carry a pair of clear safety glasses with me just in case.

    Please Note! After some emails we've received we'd like to you to please be aware that Louismoto, XLmoto, FC Moto, Chromeburner, Motostorm, Champion Helmets and Motoin are NOT UK based companies. They are German, Dutch and Swedish websites so should you have any warranty issues they would NOT be dealt with in the UK. You would need to send the helmet back to the country of purchase which could cost a lot more than you bargained for and also it may take a long time to get your helmet back. For the best service please ensure you buy from a UK or Ireland based dealer.

      Hi Paul, These units are mass-produced so tolerances can be ever so slightly different from one to the next. There is a definite click when the mic is properly installed, some times a little wiggle whilst pushing on the mic can help make sure it seats home properly. The surround of the mic should be completely flush with the helmet. If you are doing all of this and the mic is still not seating contact the dealer for warranty advice. BH.

    I've had c3 and c4 and the c4 pro had many issues for me. C3 was just a better helmet in my opinion. The sc1 comm and preinstalled speakers on the c4 were very low quality with tinny sound. I also didn't really like the materials used on the c4 liner... and the annoying velcro that was put on the chin liner was frustrating. I hope these have been updated on the c5.
    Not a big fan of the proprietary comms, but if they use one with quality sound it may not be too bad(sc1 on c4 was not very good).
