Strongest Plastic Repair for Dummies

I’ve done the steel wool method, staples, copper wires, baking soda, etc and the mesh one shown in this video is by far the strongest repair. Product link in my bio and it came with almost everything you’ll need to repair plastic. Best $30 I’ve spent. I ended up buying about $1200 worth of plastic repair kits and this kit is the best one, dollar for dollar. Came with almost everything except paint and putty. I’ll be doing more product reviews in the future.

great stuff. I love using the wire mesh as a substrate for these kind of repairs, so much stronger than alternatives.
for filler, have you ever tried doing the custom plastic putty method, where you take scrap plastic shavings from the same material (to make sure the plastics will bond and not separate or crack as they cure) and add small amounts of acetone or similar solvents until it forms a putty, and use that as a filler? I find that if I use that in combination with the mesh, it makes the strongest bonds of anything I've tried, and won't end up with weird color differences if exposed to UV because it's made from the same material and dye. I know that's not always practical and would likely be too much time investment for a business (at least until you build up a collection of different materials over time), but that in combination with making a custom texture pad from hot glue or silicone putty to add seamless texture to the heated filler has made for some ridiculously good results for me. that said, my experience is super limited compared to yours and I haven't used those methods on countless vehicles over the years like you have with yours, so I was wondering if you'd tried any of that and if you have any thoughts. I plan to expand to do this on a full-time basis, so your knowledge and experience is so valued and appreciated, and I'm learning a ton about streamlining and alternate methods to help me cut down turnaround time. @@GuynhistruckI have not tried that putty method with the shavings. This is the first I’ve heard of it. Your knowledge in getting a finished product is impressive. I know guys in this industry with 20 years of experience that don’t possess your knowledge. Good on you and this year, will be your year. Keep at it! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
