Hampi is very safe for solo travelers, I was there for 5 days and I feel very safe. The people is in hampi is very polite and helpful.

Day 1 check-in to hotel near virupaksha temple you will get it in 500 to 700 basic room
Get ready and start walking
First place will be virupaksha temple
Then kadelu kalu ganesh, salelu kalu ganesh, lakshmi narsih and badviling , krishna temple all this you can visit before 4 pm
Then have again come near virupaksha temple and go to monolithic nandi then goto achutray temple
after 5.30 start trek to matang hill you can see sunset from there.
Again back to your room
Day 2 book a auto (I was solo so I took cycle for 100 ruppes) then you can visit vijay vitthal temple, pushkarni, musium, elephant stable, lotus mahal all in 5 km so you can visit fast by auto.
Day 3 (when I was there that time boat was not working so I have to take bike on rent and visit anjanadri parvat) but you can check if it is available then try. Otherwise you have to book auto and visit.
For coracal ride goto sanapur lake that much cheap and good. Near virupaksh temple it's not that great.
