Good review and unexpected result. Very often big pressure not needed with rails. So, nine thees is the winner. Glue peace of rubber easy fix.

I have the Bessie and the Festool clamps. Great clamps for my MFT. However, for my guide rails, I use the DeWalt quick clamps. The DeWalts only requires one hand to work.

Thanks for the overview. Bessey makes the festool clamps. I prefer the bessey version though; you mentioned that the extra bit on the handle doesn't do anything, but in reality, it prevents your finger from being pinched when operating the trigger.
I grabbed a bunch of the besseys when amazon had them for $32. Something to think about with all the off-brands of these types of clamps on the market is steel quality. Cheaper clamps may use softer steel, which is unfortunately the case with jorgensen's ratcheting clamps. Not to say there isn't good quality off-brands; veiko is usually really good in quality, so I'd give those a look.

I'd like to know how long they last. is the metal alloy used on the cheap one further to the zinc side or further to the iron side? I prefer to have hardened steel in my tools especially where impact, stress, or vibrations are concerned. However i'm not really a woodworker, I dont really watch tool reviews, and have no idea how this video ended up in my feed, but i'm glad it did +)

Thanks for the comment and view, youtube must be wanting you to get into woodworking 😁. Yeah harden steel is much better.

The difference between teh Bessey and the Festool, is the Bessey can go on sale, and retailers are free to set their own price point. While the Festool costs the same no matter where you buy them.
And, I do agree that the least expensive solution is adequate for the use, and spending more doesn’t make sense.

Good to know that about the Bessey clamp

Just bought 2of the Qwork for $36. I have to say, I don't think the ability to tighten is slightly smaller increments matters.

I do appreciate the review. Staring at all the options in the store or online is no fun. Having this knowledge helps a lot prior to shopping.
I agree with the least expensive one.

strength, pin bending, failure of e-clips etc... these are factors that influence use and the materials determine how well they age. Some of that could be covered in reviews and be more helpful to buyers.

I think there is a reason why the more expensive ones have 6 teeth: the teeth are higher and have a larger holding surface on the clip that’s sliding along. This could be a weak point on the $20 clamp.

If the handle is not flexy then the cheaper one will do

glad to help. I did learn from Bessey that they are the original maker of the clamp and license it to Festool.
