Snowed Out of a PNW Mountain Lake

What was supposed to be an overnight backpacking trip to a mountain lake quickly turned into a day trip when about 6" of snow fell within 4 hours. Nearly whiteout conditions caused for concern as I did not have the necessary gear to safely get out the next day if the snow continued.

I was happy with my decision. As cool as it would have been to wake up to all that snow, the hike out would have been rough.
