I had a similar problem where everything was working except there was no heat coming into the cab and the vent controls didn't work. Like if I put it on defrost which normally puts all the air upward on the windshield it still kept coming out of the dash vents. I thought for sure the problem was the actuator but when my shop did a diagnostic it turned out all I had was a blown fuse. $110 for the diagnostic 30 bucks to put in the fuse. if any these videos had mentioned That possibility I could've saved a bundle of money because I have my own code reader.

Ya know I’ll keep that in mind. I always start by checking the fuse, but I never think to mention is when making videos. I mentioned it on my last car video replacing the stupid light on my Escalade. I’ll keep that in mind though

@@Mr.Cash66 ya I didn’t want to sound like I was criticizing you I just wanted to get that information out there because I watched a whole bunch of videos. Then I replaced my thermostat and all of it was a waste of time and money because all it was was the fuse.

@Mr. Cash the OEM resistor you took out had 5 pins on one side. The replacement resistor only had 3 on that same side. Do you know why they are different? I am having the same issue on my 2013 Sierra where the heater does not get very hot and am trying to find an OEM style resistor with the 5 pins but none of the local parts store have one. And none of the parts people can tell me why the OEM has 5 pins and the replacements they carry only have the 3 pins. Did you notice any issues with the new part or does everything work as it should? Thanks!

I didn’t notice any different installing the new one with 3 pins. Check your VIN and see where your truck was made. My is built in Canada, and has parts for Korea.
Might sound strange but you might have one from Mexico with slightly different parts. For instance, the fan motor broke which my truck had a specific fan motor that didn’t even match a standard gmc replacement and I had to special order one of EBay, which came from an old Escalade.
Also check your coolant level and make sure you have enough.

@@Mr.Cash66 I have a Mexico built truck. My coolant level is about an inch below the fill line. I will top it off and see what it does. Thanks for the response.
