I have come from the future. It got banned from gen 9 Ubers in less than a week.
Could you do a video explaining what qualifies a pokemon as good to Dynamax, OK to Dynamax or bad to Dynamax? You raised an important question that I as a novice need to understand better.
Giving this comment all the boosts I can. I need this as well
the way I see it, if a pokemon's set relies on a specific attack's effect it would be bad in dynamax since it would be replaced.
This sounds like an excellent wideo idea
Generally you want to D-Max targets that can benefit from the extra HP, OR have good coverage moves. I.e. if your opponents have mons that are just barely faster than yours, and you can D-Max a mon to use Max Airstream, you now have speed control. Or if both of your opponents mons are special attackers, and you can use Max Quake, that will boost your mons SpDef to help counter that.
Example 1.) Shedinja, is very ass as a Dynamax
I am slowly coming around on the design philosophy of the new limited movepool mons. The idea I guess is, "What if we make absolutely busted pokemon, but they are kept in check because they are only busted in a very narrow way." It must be hard to find new design space after 8 generations of pokemon, and this seems to be one. I also do like the idea that you sacrifice flexibility for power. I wish some of the other big hitters were a little more limited now like Dragapult...
It seems this is the reason hidden power was kicked from the game.
well draga gets exactly 0 good physical ghost type moves that aren't 2 turn moves, it doesn't even get shadow claw or poltergeist, which i think is a pretty big drawback on it's own
you're basically forced to run mixed if you want both stabs
@@hesterfranks9716 Phantom Force is still pretty good. Especially if you Dynamax.
@@freshFerdinand that and the fact that hidden power would have to work differently because of bottlecaps
@@keesklaassen3500 not necessarily, it worked just fine in Sun/Moon with Z-Moves

Regieleki plus tapu koko, using rising voltage will obliterate everything with those 200 base speed.
I think this mon by himself will make Lighning rod mons useful again Lmao.
Ppl sleeping on Rain Thunder
Definitely gonna run Volt Switch, Rising Voltage, Electro Ball and then either protect (if Magnet) or Thunderbolt (if Specs)
It's unlikely that you'll run into two ground types at once, so at worst you can still Volt Switch out and do a ton even to resistances
Landorus-T : That's a cute duo, mind if I use Earthquake?
Yooooo, listen, I just got a new fun gimmick, hear me out.

MUCH harder than Mew. Assuming full investment, Transistor gives Regieleki the equivalent of base 174.5 Special Attack when using its Electric moves.

Apparently not lol, literally brought my zygarde to the fight and i was basically untouchable
Same. Still yawned it and just used premier balls. I caught all the Regis with premier balls on like the first or second try, mind you they were paralyzed or at red health or both but still, it seemed glitched.
I saw that this thing only does normal or electric type attacks, so I brought my level 40 Golurk to avoid literally anything it tries to do while I chuck my Pokeballs at it

It’s crazy to see Wolfe’s competitive Pokémon brain just explode into these frenzies of ideas at such a high speed and still makes his explanations understandable.
I don't care if it's broken, I just like how it bounces up and down.
The fact that it can retain that number 5 spot in usage when Lando is in the number 2 spot speaks volumes.
the metagame is three days old tbf
Honestly I expect a resurgence of traditional sand teams, since max speed Excadrill outspeeds Regieleki by three points in sand. So I can see a lot of teams running lando and eleki together as the meta starts to solidify.
@@farfetchdideas695 Good shout. I like this idea. I'd thought of it next to Glastrier, but this is better.

I feel like Weezing-G will be really strong in Series 7 since it checks all of the Tapu’s with super effective damage, and can shut down new Pokémon who are reliant on abilities (Regieleki, Tapus, Metagross, etc.).
And of course enabling Regigigigas
Well it cant stop regieleki due to the low spdef
And while it stops bulu and fini, koko puts up a fight and lele kills it
@@MetronaJ Because G-Weezing turns off Transistor, Regieleki actually loses a sizable chunk of power when G-Weezing is on the field, although it can still eke out a guaranteed 2HKO on full-on physically defensive Max HP 4 SpDef G-Weezing with Thunderbolt. Assuming it’s stopping Electric Terrain from going up Regieleki will have to put in some effort or get help to clear out G-Weezing.
@@DrGandW wow, would have thought it would have one shot even without transistor im surprised

I love this series, I haven't played competitive VGC since 2016 but I really like how you break this stuff down, you clearly know what you're talking about and are very passionate about the subject. Awesome video, and I hope you continue with this series!
Dang, this thing is faster than my boi deoxys-speed. Now this is gonna be a problem.
Deo has move pool, it can support unlike this
@@marcoasturias8520 And it also has a solid bulk despite its low hp, so definitely more versatile.
Regieleki kills most ubers in electric terrain, if you have a good anti-lead then deo dies in seconds
@@ihaventshoweredforayearbut247 True but it still gets walled completely by any ground type mon, and if you lead with Regieleki+Koko to get the terrain you're opponent is gonna for sure lead with a ground type. Also Rilla is still very prevalent, and it doesn't take much to switch in and change terrain, considering also that outside terrain specs thunderbolt does only 55% max, while grassy glide OHKOs the Regi. So although it's a good mon I would consider it far from broken in VGC.
You can run a mixed set with assurance, all you need is another pokémon with a priority move like grassy glide, quick attack or shadow sneak. And because eleki is so fast it will immedeately get to hit the max damage 120 power assurance.
As long the enemy doesn't have:
Ground types.
Priority.
Zearora.
Lighting rod
Then is Regieleki is can dominate as a wallbreaker.
Can't wait to watch some of your pvp battles featuring the new pokemon
Love these videos keep it up and do it with a lot of Pokémon! Helps so much with the hardest process, which is in team building and figuring out evs.
Day 40 of asking for Dracowish cosplay when you are ready
Thanks for the analysis!
Also, it gets Rain Dance. I wonder how good it'd be at messing with weather.
I'd like it if you covered Galarian Articuno next, I think it has a lot of potential!
I don't think you want to lose a turn setting a 100% accuracy Thunder with those defenses
I feel like it's worth mentioning because stuff like Follow Me and Ally Switch exist. I'm not saying it's gonna be best-in-slot but might catch an opponent by surprise.

Wolfey is a Pokemon genius! I wasn't going to used this regi, but now I'mma try it and see how good it can be...
Thanks for posting this video, I was actually thinking of how I can use Regieleki because it is now my favorite pokemon.
Literally every Ground-type Pokémon: "It's free real estate".
i gave my Regieleki a Magnet(which boosts electric type moves by 1.2x)and when you combine that with STAB & Transistor it is just straight up broken
I had a fever dream last night that I was in an icecream shop and I saw you in line, so I went over and said “Hi Mr Youtubist” and we had a laugh and then I think my fever broke cuz I woke up sweating but feeling better.
5:00 The two phases of Wolfey absorbing something OP
Hearing you say "I want to use all these moves!" has me wondering what pokemon would look like with 5 moves
It would be crazy lol
Certain bad pokemon would skyrocket if they weren't decision paralyzed. Already great pokemon would be even more versatile. This thing could run dual screens with light clay, thunderbolt for reliable damage, electro ball to prey on slower pokemon/electroweb for doubles & Thunder Cage to contain threats. I would pay good money to see that metagame.
He has a video on that EXACT topic!
honestly z moves couldve been sick if they were just a 5th normal move that you cpuld use once every few turns or something
max speed investment gives him 548 speed at level 100 (822 scarfed) so electro ball just goes 🏃💨
Jesus
Would probably be better Specs’d though
I'm fast af boiiii
Jam Usagi um. Obviously. It’s just to test the limits
@@JamUsagi Actually it wouldn’t, unless you’re fighting already fast Pokémon and getting minimum power in which case you just shouldn’t use Electro Ball. If it’s a choice between getting Specs boost or getting Electro Ball to the next power tier (say, against a base 60-70 speed Pokémon) you’re always gonna do better with getting to the next power tier with Scarf. 150 BP with Transistor and Scarf hits just as hard as 120 BP with Specs, and jumping from 80 to 120 is significantly stronger than the Specs boost. Any increase in base power is multiplied by both STAB and Transistor, which is why it’s giving more bang per buck than just increasing Special Attack. +30 base power is effectively +67.5 BP and +40 BP is effective +90.
Scarf can also bring up a Pokémon by 2 tiers from 80 BP to 150 BP which is obviously better.
Tl;dr You hit more Pokémon harder with Scarf than Specs
You know its gonna be a good day when Wolfey says, “So there I was...”
Wolfey: Explosion is terrible.
Me: Wait, but if you're low you can just drop the bom- oh wait, doubles.
Is electro ball really worth it. It seems you need to significantly outspeed your opponent to get full power from it. I know it’s fast but is it fast enough to get the max benefit against the rest of the roster?
Hey man! Hope you’re doing well and having a good day! Yeah Regieleki is awesome! SPEEEEEEEEEEED!!!!
I feel as though, you can run Regieleki on a rain team with thunder as an offensive move and use Politoed as a support to help deal with any ground types or use Barraskewda and dynamax. I think it could work.
All electric immunities: Gone
Regieleki: I will now be conducting an audit of your life.
Audition for regigigigas when?🤔
_You see hes balanced because every single Ground type walls him._
I've seen someone use it with a scarfed Tapu Fini with soak. Amazing
Wouldn’t mind hearing Wolfey’s thoughts on Galarian Zapdos next tbh
I am curious of how well Absol will do without the Mega evo.
It's like a Bisharp that can't take a hit
Does anyone else think about the fact that Regieleki is only 3 feet tall?
And that it’s a 320lb single cell organism at that.
Hey Wolfe, wondering your thoughts on suicune this gen? It's one of my favs and I love it as a support with scald, snarl, and tailwind
I do honestly want to see you use this in a double battle format
Hear me out, round regieleki paired up with specs round primarina
Completely random question, but could you showcase a competitive Wobbuffet team? Just cuz he is best Boi 🙂
Wobbuffet arguably has the worst AMFAD (all my friends are dead) syndrome in the game. Since all it does is sit there counter coating you can very easily ignore it, kills it’s friends, then deal with it and have the battle essentially be a series of 2v1s. This is why prominent stall and countercoat mons are shit in doubles
cover araquanid! I think it’ll be pretty good if paired with a lightning rod user and a trick room setter.
Every time I see your new uploads I remember that everything’s gonna be okay

What if you combine Regieleki's Thunder Cage with a G-Max Kanto Starter. Add in maybe hail or sandstorm and you can really rack up some insane damage over time. You could also run it in a Rain team and use Thunder.

It's a cool Round user too, seeing as it always moves first.
So there I was. Watching a video from my favourite youtubist, trying to decide whether I should get Regieleki or Regidrago.
Basically this thing is a faster Tapu Koko (similar attack/ special attack with 50% electric bonus)
And if you pair this with Tapu Koko or you Dynemax this and use max lightning, you get another 50% electric damage.
This is broken indeed.
Pure electric type is always an amazing defensive typing.
Electric terrain is actually only a 30% boost this gen, funny enough. Still scary on eleki, but a bit easier to handle on koko.
Day 139 of asking for "Why Gastly is a threat" (or an equivalent under a different title if preferred), because it has the 169th best special attack of all pokemon, all forms, according to Serebii.

Please cover the three legendary birds (Galar form-e) next!
Was expecting him to mention this thing being able to outrun Trick Room, but maybe they didn't discover that little quirk at the time of the vid yet.
If you don't know how already, in short trick room works through certain screwy ways that the game keeps track of stats, and uses that plus math to make the effective speed stats of all active pokemon wrap around the bottom Ghandi's Aggression level style to result in the normal effect. Regieleki, however, is capable of going so God-damned fast with the use of Agility that it skips the wraparound that trick room is supposed to do, leaving it with still more speed than anything else even after the math wizardry. Yeah, it's really stupid.
Take a shot every time Wolfey says the words "thunder" and "electr-"
also, since you need so little for it's speed stat, it can actually be a good mixed attacker.

I've noticed in past games that I can deal almost all of a pokemon's health in one attack, it gets potioned to max, I attack again and then it dies in one hit.
