I love Beyond Good and Evil. Very underrated. I also love Hidden City and Choice of Weapon. I love how this band is not afraid to tweak their sound but it always sounds like the Cult.

I would need to listen to them all again to rank them properly but Sonic Temple is for sure my favorite. Hands down. But I think I'll give this discography a new listen so I can line the others up.

Sonic Temple I think is my Number 1, Any of the 4 from Love, Electric, Sonic Temple and Ceremony could be number 1 for me on any different day - they lost me with 'the Cult'

The Cult just released their 11th studio album. It’s called “Under The Midnight Sun”. Fantastic album. One of the top releases this year. Top 5 album for me by The Cult. CFFC

I've listened to it a few times. It has some great moments but you definitely have to be in the right mellow mood to enjoy it. Cheers
Agree. It’s an album that you need to listen to multiple times to get into it. ( which is a good thing I believe). No fillers just 8 songs. “Impermanence” gives me a Dreamtime vibe. “Vendetta X” is one of my favorites at the moment.

Maybe a different point of view with my ranking! It was difficult to choose between Love, Electric and Sonic Temple which one i prefer. Only the two last on my list are average in my opinion.

Electric is most definitely not higher with others I don't find, I think people are used to say it's a great album but compared to everything that has come after it's hard to put it in a top five. For me the "Black sheep" is their best followed by Beyond good and evil and then Love. Like you say the thing with this band is the incredible songwriting, it's actually hard to find a bad song on any of their records. I think Sweet salvation is a really terrible song, that's one I can think of.. I haven't really got into their latest "Under the midnight sun" yet other than Vendetta which is great.
Love the Cult and LOVE is my favorite album. Sonic Temple and Choice of Weapon are the others in my top three. I rank Electric the lowest. I really like the PEACE versions of the songs and can’t stand what Rick Rubin did with the record. Just my opinion and I can understand why some love it. It’s just not for me :).
I saw them live at Dodger stadium like 3 years back 4 years in late August they opened for G N'R they were Great, but we were all under the impression that Lenny Kravitz was going to open but something went down.

Anyway I see an older man walking by dressed like my uncle you know the type borard shorts and a bowling shirt on and it comes to me. IM A LOUDMOUTH by the way I shouted out Yo It's The Wild Thing, people were like huh... I went it's Charlie Sheen bro. We all flipped out.he's was clean happy and was nice to the little kids. When us the adults came up he did not push anyone away he stuck his hand out and said hey what the heck is up man.
In goodfellas after Tommy dies they jump to 1980 Henny goes off the edge they open up with that Big Bass by The Cult. Love love love it.

The first 3 albums are the only ones that matter (outside of personal taste, which determines little). The first two Cult albums are my two favorite albums, of any artist - yet you listed their debut as their worst - so there you go.

The only album i dont like is Hidden City. Bad, very lazy vocals, Astbury sings with a Egg in the mouth, uninspired. Easy the worst, always will be.
Their latest stuff sounds like that... probably could have done with a decent producer
