Not to say the Chinese government doesn't mistreat their citizens, just that they shift the blame to someone else to save face for the CCP and the average Chinese citizen won't criticize their government.

    While on my way to work at an English training center one Sunday morning in Guangzhou I was attacked by a crazy homeless guy who was surprisingly tall. I had my laptop in my backpack and the guy was growling like a madman trying to take it away from me. After a push and pull struggle for about 10 seconds the guy started clawing at me with his long dirty nails, so I kept my hands on my backpack and started kicking him in the thigh repeatedly. The guy still wouldn't let go until I gave him one really hard kick and his left leg buckled. As he fell to the ground I pulled the backpack away from him. There I was with a fresh dress shirt and tie, only 5 minutes from work, my fresh cup of coffee from Starbucks now all over my dress pants. As I looked around, and the crazy guy hobbled away, I saw a crowd, including Police, bystanders, and security guards from the adjacent building. I couldn't hear what was being said, but I could tell from the looks and reactions that I was being judged for injuring this poor, defenseless, crazy, homeless guy. That was my worst experience in China.

    OK, so you had your key copied. I have to warn you both that I just watched your "Leftover women" video, and you both have keys showing in the frame. Me being a locksmith, when I see a key on video I often create a still and check whether I could duplicate it from the image alone and how difficult it would be. Answer: yes I could, and not very.
    A lot of copyshops and all serious locksmiths could create a duplicate from a still shot of a key (tumbler, dimple or laser key doesn't matter, nor does the perspective). In the west most locksmiths will probably turn you away if you come to them with a photo of a key unless you have a really, really good & convincing story, but in China maybe they wouldn't?
    I've left a similar comment on a video where serpentza had a whole bunch of keys in his house in the frame in 4K (allowing for great shots of the keys). Showing your keys is giving your keys to the viewer. It's the same if someone you know can snap a picture of your key(s) because you left them out on a table or something.
    Now, it may not matter if random youtubers have your keys, but people you know will probably have access to the video material as well, right? Be smart about keys. The only key I know of that doesn't have this problem is EVVA MCS as it works with magnets. But that's a very expensive system, so maybe just use a plastic cover (or some duct tape) for your keys if they have to be in frame?

      Nationalism is like a soccer fan club. Two guys can talk sensibly in a bar about whos good or bad, but in great crowds, its becames basically a fight. Its always has been that way, it cant be reeducated out of the species- and politicians love to have a favourite footballclub, because that means save votes and support. I honestly dont see a solution to this. Maybe public shaming of nationalism, when it escalates into this can people to hold back. In my experience the whole affair gets worser though, when people are supressed alot in theire lives, be it at work or in private life. If then, some poor fool gets to be the only 'outsider' and fair game- the whole situation vents and some person becomes the peoples pinata of vengance for a miserable life.

    I just wanted to pop in a reinforce the "moral" of the story. I've always been very nice and trusting, with no problem making friends. When I got into drugs (I've been clean for like 4 years) I met dozens of deeply trusted friends, who were addicts. The thing with criminals, is that they're self destructive. They're already willing to ruin their life, so burning bridges by screwing over friends, is something that can easily happen. What's sad is, in most cases, they weren't "putting on an act" for a year. They likely thought of you as a genuine friend. That doesn't matter though, these types can steal from family.
    The point is, if you know someone who regularly breaks the law. If you know a criminal. Understand who they are, and don't ignore it.

One even took advantage of squatter laws in LA to house other people while I wasn’t at home when he needed a place to crash every now and then. Stole/copied my keys, stayed in my building basement even when he got kicked out so I had to move. The drug I’m talking about for sure brought out the evil side of anyone but still those people I met were on an express train to hell with the malice they showed.

    Fun fact on your "Ray Bans" all Ray Bans are essentially fake, along with all designer glasses. there is only like 2 glasses companies on earth and they simply license out brand names to their products. All glasses in the world come from the same handful of factories. Ray-Ban is particulary interesting, because in the 1990s they were considered dogshit $2 glasses you pick up from a petrol station, but they tool them off the shelf for like a year, and returned them as a "designer" brand sunglass and started selling the exact same product for literally hundreds of dollars.
    The sad fact is, the entire Glasses market is a scam ;)
    You'll find like 80% of Sunglasses, including Rayban are Luxcotta sunglasses.

    The disgraceful behaviour of some Chinese has a lot to do with education, and the urban-rural divide. It's often found that poorly behaved mainland Chinese tourists abroad happen to be uneducated, rural "rags to riches" peasants. The nicest and most honest people you meet in mainland China are usually the urban, young and university educated, who usually can speak some English, are open to different ways of thinking and looking at the world, and will make good friends for life. The rural/uneducated folks' way of thinking is governed instead by nationalism, propaganda and guanxi, so their relationships with foreigners are very superficial or short term.

      @krystiantomczuk7451 Před 6 lety +9

      We have limited defense mechanisms such as melanin production in skin cells to protect our nuclei from UV radiation. Another defense mechanism is the constriction of your pupils to limit the amount of light into the eye, protecting your cornea. I was pointing out that wearing sunglasses causes pupil dilation, which can be more damaging if the sunglasses are not polarized.

    • @pentachronic
      @pentachronic Před 6 lety +11

      BS. Polarising makes no difference. Neutral density glass is what you need. Dilated pupils is due to a few things. Firstly lack of light causes it. Allergies cause it, drugs cause it. Now the thing that is important is that the glasses block UV400 and shorter UV wavelengths. This is a chromic filter with a particular response. Cheap sunglasses may not meet those standards. it has nothing to do with polarisation. As far as UV, this damages the cornea because of ionising radiation. UV causes DNA damage which can lead to cancer.

First fix your own people and then talk.. Who the hell cares if you are a hater or a poker player? In the first case you are dumb and in the second case you're a proper asshole isn't it? The outcome is the same so nobody cares or appreciates you for being a hater instead of a poker player and vice versa.. For how long do you think you can foul the West? And your bad behavior is becoming popular now~ What will you do next? You will change overnight? I don't think that's even possible... If you were so clever, you should've known that secrets don't stay secrets for too long.. And much much more~ no need to waste my energy with dead people who are faking everything~ lol Fake your products, fake beauty, fake muscles~ is there anything human left inside of you? hahahaha I can laugh all I want~ What? There is an old proverb in China goes something like this, "Meat doesn't cook, u do not eat." What the meaning of this proverb? The meaning of this proverb is this: when u 1st get to know someone, u'r a raw meat, they will not rip u off initially. Once u know them well, u become cooked meat 'cos they have gain ur complete trust, then they start to rip u off and that was exactly in ur case. Therefore, beware of those who are close to u, even ur best friend(s). There u have it.

      Very true...that's why I've learned that if someone is trying to help you, or trying to be helped by you, be very cautious. I've gotten scammed more by people wanting my help, than by wanting help. Now, I simply avoid both.

    I've lived in many places in Asia(Tokyo, S. Korea, Okinawa, Macau, HK, Thailand, Philippines) and my best advice is to be super careful no matter where you go. You're almost always going to be a target or an outcast. Surprisingly, S. Korea was probably the safest after Tokyo, of course. Nothing good happens after midnight, especially in Asia because that's when the drunks will attack you, sometimes with knives. If you want to work over in Asia I say do your research and learn A LOT about the culture before you go there. There will be several people that will probably be nice and take you out, just remember to be a friendly guest and stay calm in all situations..you did your homework about the culture, right? If you feel a situation is getting out of hand move quickly away towards the police station. Also, a big thing that will help you out is to dress nicely, this kind of tells everyone to back off this person has stature. Remember, be careful after midnight!

    My experiences in Hong Kong: when walking down the busy street footpaths, we walked in the line going our direction and my wife had 4 occasions where people changed direction and deliberately barged her, it happened to me once. She was walking behind me so I started putting up my elbows at head height to stop people from bumping into us. We then went into an unground walkway and at the entrance I noticed a person indicating us and a guy started following us, just to play games I suddenly changed direction behind a support post and stood and watched the guy frantically looking for us - I just stood there smiling when he saw me waiting outside a toilet for my wife.....
