      Hey I am curious about how close to white the mx master 3s you have is.
      I want to have a clean white setup and the Old MX Master 3 in Grey is not an option.
      Would you mind telling me how it looks next to the Aluminium/White Apple Magic Keyboard if you have or maybe share a pic on twitter?

      @Global Communications Yep, I heard the same sentiment from a handful of others too. I've been in the hard click life for a long time, but since I moved to the Logitech Lift with quiet clicks, I got really accustomed to it now. Actually when I'm on calls, I can get away with clicking & browsing and no one knows 😉 But after using the MX Mechanical keyboard now, I still understand the appeal of wanting to hear that click. You can still feel the click, but it feels softer... maybe because the loud click is gone?
      Let's see what they do with the MX 4. I wonder if they will continue the trend or just release two versions, a 4 and a 4S.

      Hey Jan, I'm not sure if you are asking me or C J, but I really don't think the soft click is a problem. You may "feel" like it is not tactile, but the response time is exactly the same as on the MX 3 mouse. @@janloncaric3621 Hey Jan, I clicked the button on both mice and it feels like I have to use slightly less pressure on the MX 3S, but it isn't a very noticeable difference. I haven't had any accidental misclicks or double clicks due to the lower actuation force or pressure required for the MX 3S. Great review. My wife has been a long user of mice like the MX Master 2s she never wanted to upgrade (I use a MX Master 3) since it can work on almost any surface. She wasn't a heavy laptop user, I had got her a chromebook from Acer and she eventually told me she hated it so I gifted her my Pixelbook i7 with 512GB NVMe SSD and 16GB RAM with a crazy near 4K touchscreen and totally silent. I then did some engineering and got it to run windows 10 with all features. Then I left my MX3 as her mouse. She immediately wanted one. Lol. Was it worth it now that you used it a couple of months? I just yesterday bought the MX M3 Mac because my wireless Razer mouse was giving huge issues with the scroll wheel (1 click = 500% zoom usually)
      Anyway, I am now considering if I should return the MX 3 Mac and get the new 3S - I did get the M3 for 990 SEK (100 dollars/100 euros roughly) vs 1290 SEK (130 dollar/euros) for the new version, I didn't even know the 3S existed because I rushed to the closest store right before they closed since I am working in illustrator on a timeline - but there's a 50 day return policy so I would have no problem paying 30 dollars more if the software is actually better / if its easier to customize buttons etc, and the quieter clicks are something considered worth changing it out!

    You don't need to click the button to scroll without the tactile increments. That automatically changes when you scroll quickly, which is the best feature. The only problem is that when you do click the button and scroll slowly without the tactile feel, it still scrolls the screen incrementally rather than smoothly, so there is never smooth scrolling. I love the mouse but hate the light grey color that I got. After only 1 month of use the light grey rubber is dirty and dingy and stained from the natural oils in my skin and nothing I used was able to get the staining out. I ended up buying a broken black MX 3 and putting the top shell from that onto the lower of the MX 3S. Now I don't have to worry about a nasty dirty looking mouse and it now imo looks cool with the black upper and silver lower part. Also regarding tracking on glass, it does work. I bought a glass mouse pad a few weeks ago and it works like a dream. The difference between my glass mouse pad and what you used is that my glass mouse pad has a texture etched into it, or rather casted? into it. Are you guys getting a consistent click sound effect all across the area of LMB/RMB? I know this might be the OCD talking, but my 3S gives off that deliciously quiet and enjoyably tactile click only like 8 out of 10 times on average. The other 2 out of 10 clicks typically come from the area closer to the middle scroll wheel (although not only) and sound, well, sharper and "clickier", more like a standard switch (although not as loud). Not a big deal, I guess it's a standard feature of a mechanical input device, but I can't help thinking that the perfectly consistent standard click of the good old 3 wouldn't annoy me as much.

    • @DemCrumblies
      @DemCrumblies  Před rokem +1

      Hey Tomasz, I haven't really noticed much of a difference in sound or feedback, but when I tested it out just now, I noticed that my finger usually lands on the same spot during clicks so maybe that's why I don't notice any variance. The right click sounds slightly different than the left click though if I pay attention (not louder), but the tactile feedback is the same. If you're noticing it 2 out of 10 times, either you're really attuned or maybe your mouse has a defect. Might be a good idea to go in store and try one of the demo or display models to see if the same issue is present, although, those demo models sometimes take a beating from tons of people trying them.

    It is probably worth mentioning that the MX Master 3S uses the Logi Bolt USB Receiver, which is not compatible with the USB Unifying Receiver. Both receivers are using a USB 2 type (Type-A), which is disappearing from most computers nowadays, replaced by USB 3 (Type C).
    If you are using Bluetooth, it is indeed not important.
    But if you want to integrate it with other existing Logitech products connected with Unifying, it will not work.
    In some cases, Logitech has added "for Business" to the name of Bolt products, like the "MX Master 3 for Business". It gives the impression that they will name all Bolt products with "for Business". But it is not true, as illustrated with this "3S". And in their "Business" products line, they still have Unifying products...
    It seems that Logitech wants to continue selling both Unifying and Bolt, duplicating all their products. So if you do not want to keep 2 Logitech receivers on all your devices, you have to either stick with the previous Unifying, renew all your products n Bolt, or move completely to Bluetooth.
