    So great to see someone who refuses to give up. The difference between the first design and now is outstanding.

    Tip: you should use ceramic ball bearings made of zro2. they are high temperature resistant and have nearly no friction when compared to standard steel ball bearings.

    Ich verfolge deine Projekte jetzt schon seit Jahren und mich hat das alles so extrem inspiriert! Ich kann es einfach noch nicht glauben das ich in ein paar Wochen sehen werde wie die Engine das erste mal laufen wird :)
    Du hast mich vor einigen Jahren, während meiner Ausbildungszeit zum Industriemechaniker, dazu inspiriert selbst eine "Turbine" zu bauen. Ich hab mein "Turbinenprojekt" genutzt um mit meinen Ausbilder CNC-Fräsen, Drehen und Toleranzen beibringen zu lassen, dafür möchte ich dir danken! Und puff auf einmal sind ein paar Jahre vorbei und ich bin Entwicklungsingenieur für Rennmotorräder... Wahnsinn wie die Zeit verrennt.

    Hey, amazing videos!!! I do however wonder why the diffuser does not have any triangular protrusions at the top, that actually do the diffusing? It seems like something relatively trivial to do, seeing all the amazing CNC machining that has been done allready? The air may be swirling around much more than is needed around the perimeter of the compressor wheel, instead of being guided, and expanded along the usual channels, which cause the pressure to raise. Can you please tell me why the blank top face of the diffuser? Thanks!

    This is the first of your videos I've watched so I'm asking this from a place of complete ignorance. But the steel basket (?) in the center. The holes in it seem very small. I would have thought this would result in a large pressure loss between the compressor and the combustion chamber?

    maybe your engine won't work because your diffuser doesn't have the first stage of compression.

    • @cullenwillett5747
      @cullenwillett5747 Před 7 měsíci +2

      Centrifugal compressor is the first stage of compression. Then a vaneless diffuser followed by axial deswirl vanes. You don’t always need radial vanes if that’s what you are referring to as the first stage of compression

    I have been following your build with interest, and it is nice to see an update. Without wishing to discourage you, I have some serious concerns about your beautifully machined turbine wheel - it looks (for example at 6:56 or 7:37) that your turbine disc is thinner at the centre than it is below the blades. I hope that this is an optical illusion, but if not: have you done any stress analysis on this design? The highest stresses will be at the hole in the centre of the disc (ignoring localised stresses at the blade roots). Normally, the centre of the disc would be thickest, tapering down according to a well defined mathematical curve until it widens again to the band that supports the blades. I regret that I can't read or write German, but I have tried to find this information in the pdf of the design, but have not found it. I really would like you to succeed, but if the cross section of the turbine disc is as I have described, please check the stresses, and if you run it, please, please, please be very careful and don't stand behind / beside it.

    Why do you need this engine? To show that you can do it? You have the ability and ability to do it, I have no doubt about it. But who do you want to surprise with it? General Dynamics or Pratt & Whitney? A more interesting option is to create a rotary engine and compete with Omega One Egine or X-Egine. I think you can do this. If you are interested, let's talk about this topic.

    Hello, I came to this video after watching the test run videos. You made BS again, your engine cannot run even 100 years later, sorry for become rude. Here are some advices: you should read Kamps's book 4 or 5 times, or you will 'invent' some weirdo thing
    1. Important thing about jet engine is "mass flow rate". The quantity of air it sucks per second equal to its efflux gas in kg. It means you have to carefully calculate and choosing the right compressor wheel and turbine wheel to make their flow rate are matched in design stage. Some random compressor wheels and your 'invented' turbine wheel won't work.
    2. You have no idea how a diffuser works, that's why the air flow in compressor is easily breaked and produce no pressure
    3. I just glanced at it and saw that your jet engine has so many problems, not to mention the design only, but also the poor workmanships: the material choosing, the tolerance in machining and assembly, dynamic balance...going back to my comment above, read Kamps or Kurt's books 5-10 times to equip yourself with enough knowledge, otherwise give up on this project or you will waste another 10 years
