Vinnie was an amazing guitar talent. Not sure about today. Then tho the shredding was a cartoonish take on the guitar climate but he could play anything and on top was a great songwriter.
He could take a five fret spread and use almost every note and make it work musically. Unreal player.

@@seanosborne4932 All those VVI songs were meant for KISS. VV wanted a better contract from KISS and told them he has all these songs ready to go but KISS canned him, so he took those songs and put them on his VVI solo record. I can see Paul singing some of those songs...they are very KISS-esq.

Maybe but first he didn’t have the connections like Carmen said. Carmen did. Second he went back on his word which back then meant way more than it does for so many today. I personally lived by that type of moto. If I say I’m gonna do something it becomes who I am. When I follow through on my word I build trust. If I go back on my word I’m full of crap. And I still believe that today and with other people. If someone doesn’t follow through except in extreme cases like a mother dying. If they could follow through and don’t I want nothing to do with them. It’s an integrity thing and some have none!

Thats right. Vinnie wrote the songs for kiss as well as for carmine and the rockers. Dudes a genius and deserves to get paid. Yingvie...talk about corny...vinnie is the real deal... i have respect for carmine because he influenced john bonham and killed it with jeff beck... but vinnie deserves all the glory
I love videos like this that bring some of the idols of my youth back to memory. But I've got to say, a whole lot of my favorite old metal stars have kind of grown into Real Housewives TM.

In all of Appice's stories someone is always thanking him or praising him or telling him he's underrated. Classic speech from someone who feels they're not as important as THEY think they are.

I know there’s a lot of harsh words thrown at Vinnie. But as long as he doesn’t mess with kids I believe live and let live. He’s really quirky and had a weird ego and now looks like a old woman. My ex girlfriend from the 80’s loved him so I kinda had to act like I like his playing. When I saw the VVI and that video he did playing a thousand notes a minute with no rhyme or reason I just couldn’t hold it anymore. I told her come on now he sucks I mean he’s got talent he could really do some good stuff but it’s all gimmicks and stuff that’s already been done. There’s literally no originality to it. He’s trying to come across as dangerous but looks like a little girl. It doesn’t add up. If he would just stick to playing decently instead of being something he’s not he could go much further. I said people will see right through this once he tours enough. Well that was the end of our relationship shortly after that 🤣🤣🤣

Kiss as a whole was a sellout They tried grunge , They hired somebody to replace Ace from a kiss tribute band and not only does he wear his makeup He also copies his guitar playing style and his moves that he made on stage WAFJ, They took the makeup off saying people were still come see them.. They damn near went bankrupt had to put the makeup back on to start selling tickets again so it's people going to listen to the music or to watch people run around and make up I mean it's a honest question the facts state that people go to watch people run around in make up, If not they would have continued to sell out shows when they took it off I don't know You tell me I used to be a huge kiss fan

No. Vinnie isn't as good as Randy was, period. But, for argument's sake, keys pretend he was. VV is far too unreliable and flakey to take anyone to new heights. For proof, look no further than where his own career went after getting booted from KISS. VV faded quickly into obscurity.
Vinnie is a good songwriter, a decent studio guitarist, but not a good live performer nor a good band member. He should just be a songwriter like Desmond Child.

Every time I see a picture of Vinnie Vincent I’m reminded of how my Aunt Gladys used to yell at kids cutting across her lawn.

Vinnie was a great songwriter, and guitar player. Ive heard him play really really well and with solos that actually fit the song. Im not knocking the invasion solos, just werent my thing, fast just to be fast.
maybe i just have better speakers, but that first invasion album sounds incredible i hear nothing wrong with the mix.

Vinnie is THE MOST talented songwriter in rock. And a Top 5 all time guitarist.
Vinnie saved Gene and Paul and wrote some great music. The only other guitarist I accepted after Ace.

Vinnie did write on ‘Revenge’ ,To each their own, maybe Vinnie is a better writer, and Kulick better guitarist? Kulick maybe is more melodic, anyways, cool thing is that we both Love KISS! Which Kulick stuff is your fav? I’ll revisit those records and check it out. I saw them in those periods, great shows. Ace is my favorite though. I saw Ace last year, amazing. In a Theatre, gave me three fist bumps in the fron row, I touched Ace! He did the shock me solo right in front, crazy! The reunion in 96’ was awsome as well. Rock on!

Let’s face it - he played for Kiss - enough said. When I was younger back in the early 70’s - anyone who liked Kiss was a young child - like 10 years old or so. To older kids - including myself at about 15 - Kiss was a joke. And to this day - anyone who likes Kiss was obviously born 4-5 years before me. And now these kids have turned into adults - and bring their young kids to watch these fools. Even the radio stations back in the early 70’s use to laugh at Kiss. Hey - the fact is they’re good performers - but musically talent wise they’re really not very good. Just my opinion.
