    Hi Kathy. I have owned this foot for a while but never used it much. After watching your video I tried it doing some small curved stitching and LOVED it. Kudos for Bernina for providing the foot, but mostly THANK YOU for your tutorial on using it. ❤️

    Hi Kathy! I bought this foot with my new machine this weekend because I saw it in Bernina’s foot of the month feature on Instagram ... but I really enjoyed seeing your additional project ideas and your tips! What a great idea on that braided trim! And I’ve recently had some ideas on using piping on my projects, so this is fabulous, too! I love your videos - can’t wait to watch more! Thank you for sharing!!!

    HI Great video! Loved all the tips. A friend recently gave me this roller foot. She only used it a couples times so I was thrilled. I seem to have some tension issues with it, though. I tested everything on leather with a leather needle and my walking foot and it was perfect. But when I used this foot the bottom stitch was coming up through the top and the top stitch wasn't tight. Do you know what could be wrong/ how I could fix it? Can the foot be serviced by a Bernina dealer? (I don't know why it would need to since basically brand new, but I suppose you never know?) Need your expert advice. Thanks so much!

      Thanks so much for watching. One of my favorite presser feet for sewing on hooks and eyes is foot #18 the button sew on foot. You might want to give that a try.

    • @kimbrachet5695
      @kimbrachet5695 Před 3 lety

      @@ginasberninasewingcenter2375 i think #18 will work on individual hooks & eyes, with bras I use the pre made bra band closures, attaching to a back band is tricky to replicate industrial standards, i think I should be able to sew a tiny zigzag on the edge.

    I enjoyed watching this video and was thrilled to hope that I could free motion quilt with the benefit of having the feed dogs up to help with more even stitches. Well, I ordered one and it arrived yesterday. I know that it’s meant for Bernina machines, but hoped that I might make it work on my Janome 6300. No such luck. For starters, the screw that holds it has a large head that blocked the wheel. I switched to a smaller head screw and got it on, but then, there is no way to adjust the foot so that the wheel is very close to the needle. Steering wasn’t all that easy. I couldn’t do the tight turns like the video showed. I will see if any of my quilting friends will be able to get this foot to work correctly. At least it wasn’t very expensive, so I’m not out much for this experiment.

      @ginasberninasewingcenter2375  Před 3 lety

      I am so sorry as I did not realize that you were planning to use it on a Janome. Is it possible that Janome might have something similar?

    • @ginasberninasewingcenter2375
      @ginasberninasewingcenter2375  Před 3 lety +1

      Also, since you were able to get the foot on you stated you could not move the foot closer to the needle. Is it possible to move the needle positions on your machine rather than trying to move the presser foot.

  • @debbiemiethig5338
    @debbiemiethig5338 Před 3 lety +1

    Hello. When you first set up the position of the needle you said you moved it as far over to the left as possible. When you started using some of those other stitches (ie those that move left to right) did you return the needle position to centre? or did you keep it as far over to the left as possible?

    • @ginasberninasewingcenter2375
      @ginasberninasewingcenter2375  Před 3 lety +1

      When so did the appliqué, I used the blanket stitch and again moved the needle toward the wheel and to the left. The needle should be close to the wheel as the wheel provides the only support the needle has. Hope that answers your question and thank you for watching.

    I see that the foot looks like "old style" with the two prongs but your machine is a newer machine. So does that mean I could buy the old style for my 790? TIA

      When you speak with your Bernina dealer in your area, be sure to let them know which model of machine you want the presser foot for. The presser foot can be purchased specifically to fit your model. Hope that helps.

    • @jorgerobles628
      @jorgerobles628 Před 2 lety

      Bernina has to different styles of cone shank for the presser feet, one is called the "Old Style" with no slit in the back of the mouth, and is for models before the advent of the 1990s, and then you have the 'New Style" with a slit in the back of the mouth, for all the models since then, and they are NOT COMPATIBLE. Just check the presser foot from the top and you will see that slit I describe. I tried to use an old style presser feet on my 2009 Bernina B830, and it was able to attach but did not work properly because the needle was hitting the solid part of the foot. This # 55 is for newer machines. The solution I can give you is to buy the Bernina foot adapter # 75/77 for old style machines together with the baby lock Leather Quilting Roller Foot model BLSO-LRF. Bernina has two different types of presser feet as I said before, so you need to get any of those Bernina adapters # 75 (=standard adapter shank) or # 77(=Short Shank Adapter) for old style machines and see which of the two adapters combine properly with your model and the Baby Lock foot. For more info go to shop.berninausa.com. Hope this helps you.

    Will this foot work with the B77 sewing machine?

    • @jorgerobles628
      @jorgerobles628 Před 2 lety +1

      Sorry to tell you but no, it will not work with any of the Bernina B77 or B79, or the Bernette type from Bernina, they use the snap-on system, not the cone system from the Regular Bernina machines. There is a similar foot from Baby Lock called the Leather Quilting Roller Foot model BLSO-LRF. You can try that for your Bernette. You need to remove the presser foot and the ankle from the machine, and then install this presser foot directly to the shank and tighten the screw. I am using it in my Bernina B830 with the Bernina presser foot adapter # 75. The Bernina foot is very expensive, about 110.00 USD, and difficult to get only by ordering. I paid 29.00 for the Babylock foot and 10.00 for the Bernina adapter. For more info about Bernina presser feet and prices go to shop.berninausa.com. Hope this helps you.
