Why do I respect Craig butler? Because he tells it like it is and is not afraid to critique people of his ilk if necessary. I have listened to and observed coaches in various forums defending other coaches instead of offering objective assessments of their performances.
Everyone has an ego to some degree, but when they obstruct progress and development there is no room for it. Successive JFF administrations and this current one, plus the Reggae Boyz coach, have proven themselves incapable of getting Jamaica's football to where it needs to be.

Is it in Jamaica's DNA to play a tough, hard to break down, defensive style of football, if their top attacking players are injured or unavailable? Can a weakened Jamaica side play a pressing, fast paced style, if fringe players come in and dont understand or arent ready or capable of working in a system which relies upon 1 vs 1 duals and heavy pressure?
It is incredibly tough for any smaller nation or side to compete if their best players are unavailable. Or if there isnt sufficient talent coming through from the youth set ups. Going to Europe and grabbing players who qualify for Jamaica is good, if you get them early and they are dedicated to the cause. Im not a Jamaica supporter but im looking from the outside at players like R.Morrison, M.Antonio and B.D.Reid and im seeing low appearance numbers for relatively older ages. They have 14 caps between them and they are ages 28-31. Throwing them into a side now in their career twilights could be beneficial for a few years but how many of them will be around after their playing days are done? And will the fast paced Jamaica style suit them at this stage? If the right types of experienced professional are blended with fresh crops of nurtured youth talent it can help to figure out a playing style and team culture where improvements throughout can be made.
Its a shame because the tiny countries struggle to attract these types of players in their primes or dont see them until their best playing days are behind them. Of course Antonio is still thriving, but will it only be short term where Jamaica get to enjoy him? I would have picked him for England 5 years ago!
Is it demoralising when home grow, born and raised players/youngsters see older, more established, world names get picked ahead of them based on previous reputation or history and not on current or potential ability?

Many of them are there just for show and care nothing abbot Jamaica which I don't really blame them. Jamaica has enough talent.. just need some good directing and proper training couple with good motivation. I personally don't care for so called Jamaicans who has never been to Jamaica for over 20 years or ever. As Butler rightly said... Jamaica shouldnt be chasing these people. Let me tell you something - I don't need my players playing for Jamaica to transfer them to big clubs. Never did . Leon was allready in Leverkusen and a star before he played for Jamaica at 20 years old
I have 23 players playing professional football
And my new crop 11 are moving into Europe as we speak
I have always loved my country and was very influential in Michail Antonio joining the reggae boys. I was never bashing the English players I think I was probably the only person screaming for them to go forward and press and they were not doing so . They all backed off. This was not good. Whether it was diaspora players or local they all played shit and lost 3 to 0
I lost three to zero and so did you as I am Jamaican
What. Wanted to see was effort and a system being played and neither tappa or the players made an effort
To stand on the sideline in a non and barely react after not one but three goals uncontested going into the back of your net is not good for a coach. I'm glad he listened I'm glad he did what I suggested and I'm glad we didn't lose and things looked hopeful for the team for the future
I'm glad Tyreek Magee and Lamar walker were seen as beautiful players and creative heinous as I saw them
And I'm glad Shamar got on the score sheet
Simeon said I liked myself to Jesus and Marcus Garvey and Mandela. I said they were all seen as contentious for standing up for wht they believed was right and stuck to their guns. And I feel good being in the company of them and being seen as contentious. There is no change without someone standing up
Jesus said to try to be Christlike
      To follow his ways
Do you think Jesus was a little pushover that accepted bullshit?!!! He sat and made a whip of nine chords premeditatively and drove the money lenders out of his father temple.

That are they facts and do what they beleive is right
The word narcissistic and arrogant are usually used by those that hide in the shadows and stab you in the back
I have the luxury of looking my enemies in their eyes
And I am a soldier not a politician

@@craigbutler2671 you are a disgrace, your son plays football for a living an u coach it, and you're gonna criticize another footballer openly putting his lively hood into question, when your son is just the same or cant do better in a jamaican shirt. You where wrong and the English base player's deserve a public apology from you. Your ego is unbelievable and you and your spoiled son should not be anywhere near the Jamaican,s football program. The Phoenix academy will be dissolved by the ancestral spirits ,trust me your barking up the wrong tree.

      @@kevan4642 I understand you would
Love more diplomacy and acceptance of failure and incompetitence . You'll not get hat from me. Phoenix and my spoiled son and sons thousands actually have been coming out of the furnaces of Phoenix since 1980 and there have been many people like you wishing us to end
And we're still standing. If you play horribly you play horribly
If you playing in a lower league you playing in a lower league. Shamar Nicholson scored against Costa Rica and played excellent in terms of his efforts

@@kevan4642 also really now I have no problem with diaspora players
What I have is when the diaspora players are given more of a benefit of the doubt than locally developed players . As the case of Kemar Toofe vs Shemar Nicholson
      One plays in Scotland
Which is lower than the third league of england
Shemar Nicholson is playing in the Belgian premier league and had he not been born in Jamaica I'm sure he would be starting
So the point is equal and everyone must work
