Egyptian Gods vs Sacred Beasts would be cool to see. Put the Gods against their Sacred Beast counterparts maybe? Honestly think that could go either way in a fight. Mini series duels like these are awesome to watch.
With the new support I think the Egyptian Gods got this, but would be cool to see!
The Sacred Beasts are meant to be used together, unlike the Egyptian gods which usually work better within their own decks so if you do something like, say, Obelist vs Raviel, you’d be giving the later a big handicap by denying it access to the rest of his “archetype”

It's too bad about the misplay. Larry definitely won. This was such a fun duel & the giant swings every turn was really good! It's crazy how every turn it looked like the other side was in trouble but would find a way to get their gods back on the field.

I mean yes but also no. To me the most iconic will always be Yugi VS Yami Marik no holds bared. Even for the tame cut version it was pretty intense and I hear more people talk about/ reference the duel's imagery than Kaiba V Yugi despite the fact it was quite epic.

I am unreasonably bothered by Obelisk playing on the red side of the field and Slifer on the blue side.

You guys should have a three-way duel with the Egyptian god decks. That would be very awesome to watch.
Exodia went toe to toe with Zorc until Muran fell at least. But it is implied that if he was completely free, they would fight pretty much forever
No Exodia would've won, one thing you should remember is that Exodia is bound to chains, and can only come out in a sand body, this is because his powers is immense, and have to be sealed.... If that makes sense
Unless this is a english dub only thing, Zorc noted Exodia’s strength comes from the life force of the person that summons him. Which hard limits how strong Exodia can be and is definitely below Zorc and the gods.
Actually double checked if I remembered that line right and found out that the english dub removed a part where Zorc and Exodia ripped out an arm from each other and regenerated it lol

Obelisk versus Exodia!
I consider *_Slider the Sky Dragon_* not only my favorite Egyptian God Card, but also the one that has the simplest effects, considering how well you can play it during duels.
P.S: I love the soundtrack used in this duel. Bravo. 👏🏻 × 10 *_Clap_*
Obelisk literally has 1 main effect though, there was that one time he acted as the "Pole Position" monster, as in Kaiba and Yugi's Duel, Obelisk forced monsters to attack it in the BP when it was summoned from the GY.
The main effect has a lot of mistranslations though. Infinite ATK, 4k burn, nuke, who knows really?
Obelisk pounds people like the Beast he is!

It would be pretty cool to see the new dark world structure deck go up against the old structure deck that it was base on with grapha as it's boss. will be nice to see how much has changed in the game.
This was heart-wrenching. I always root for Paul...but I always root for Slifer. It felt like whoever won, I lost. Total AVP vibes.

maybe duels all themed around alternative win conditions? (exodia, jackpot 7, spirit board, etc.)
I love watching these anime-style duels but with more optimized strategies. It would be awesome to see you do duels with some of the later animes series. Such as Stardust, Odd-Eyes, Utopia, Decode, etc. Love watching you guys and would love to see xyz/pendulum/synchros that aren't starter decks :D Keep up the great work either way
Since this series has seen Ra's Disciple used a lot to summon Obelisk, it'd be interesting if they eventually made "Slifer's Disciple" and "Obelisk's Disciple" cards with slightly different effects and 0 ATK.
And each made for their own gods decks but functionally more suited to a different deck.
Why do they need to have 0 atk? Also I think a Slifer’s Disciple should be more like Ra’s Disciple but better and then Obelisk’s Disciple should be a searcher

Slifer’s Disciple - if you control no monsters you can special summon this card from your hand. When this card is summoned you can special summon up to 2 more Slifer’s Disciple from your hand/deck, and if you do you cannot summon any other monsters for the rest of the turn except for Divine Beast monsters. This card can only be tributed for the tribute summon of a Divine Beast monster. During your main phase you can discard 1 card to activate 1 of these 2 effects; 1) add 1 card that includes Slifer the Sky Dragon in its card text from your deck to your hand. 2) Send 1 “Slifer the Sky Dragon” from your deck to the GY. You can only activate one of these effects once per turn.
Obelisk’s Disciple - When this card is normal summoned you can add 1 card that includes Divine or Divine Beast in its card text from your deck to your hand. This card can be treated as 2 tributes for the tribute summon of a Divine Beast monster or to activate Obelisk the Tormentor’s effect. You can banish this card from your GY, take 1 card from your deck that includes Obelisk the Tormentor in its card text and either add it to your hand or send it to the GY. You can only activate each effect of Obelisk’s Disciple once per turn.
Really loved playing Exodia decks in the old school formats using stall/search/milling techniques. Would love to see you guys incorporate Exodia decks with both old and new deck themes/support.
Technically, Holactie is summoned by tributing all three gods, and it does auto win. So it can be said that all three together are equal to Exodia, but not separate.

9:43. Larry messed up. He forgot to activate Joker’s Straight and Joker’s Wild to get them back to hand, but great game either way fellas. The art budget was definitely shown this time!
That was super fun! Loved the use of links animations, and I think the idea of sacred beasts vs Egyptian Gods sounds like a fun set of duels!

26:38 - Fortunately, the outcome of the Duel wasn't altered by the Normal Summon mistake this time.
It may have been. The only real difference it would have made is the exiled cards. Slifer would have died anyways and the soul energy max burn damage would have still killed him. Larry would have had more options and wouldn't need to take a turn refilling his grave, which means he likely would have had more cards in hand with again, more options as to what to do. Larry doesn't have any alternate wincons and slifer is very inconsistent in his power so it likely would have still been a loss anyway.
I JUST realized the music playing in the duel is Skelter Helter's boss theme from No More Heroes 2.

So, Paul actually "lost" this one since he normal summoned twice without the use of Double Summon. Which is against the game rules.

These three videos were awesome the rest of this is for those that wanna possibly do a battle of the gods themselves.
These are the gods in terms of who counters who often: Slifer>Obelisk>Ra>Slifer
These are their strengths and weaknesses:
Slifer = Easiest to summon of them all and while powerful can be easily countered.
Ra = has multiple ways to resurrect Ra and adapt in a instant, however will lose to GY disruption.
Obelisk = hardest to summon out of all 3 but has amazing offensive capabilities, can otk and can disrupt GY.
imo slifer is the best because he has a developed archetype behind him ( the card knights ). Obelisk runs random token makers and has to use Ra cards because he doesnt have any good support besides soul crossing
@@ich3730and Fist of Fate, The Breaking Ruin God and Soul Energy MAX. Those are all great support cards for Obelisk too. Obelisk needs a archetype of some sort like Slifer with the Poker Knights

Spell/Traps only would either be pure mill, or pure burn. It'd be boring, sorry (I tried it). And no special summons slows the game down to a crawl. Reminds me of GOAT format, kinda. That's more fun, but It'd mean no newer archetypes.
They have already played by both only spells and only traps rules

Thankfully I don't think it really affected the outcome to a great degree.
I think it did, when the extra summon monster ability activated by it getting destroyed it let him get a token to active Obelisk effect and got Larry God destroyed then he was able to use the graveyard effect of Breaking Ruin God.

It absolutely did. I think Larry wins if he wasn't able to activate Obelisk effect + Breaking Ruin Good due to the extra token.

Larry normal summoned twice the very next turn: he normal summoned Imperial Bower and Queen's Knight.
That was as, if not more, intense than an episode of the show! O_O; Gods shooting out of graveyards, beefy waifus and squirrels raining from the sky and not one but two activations of Obelisk's ultimate power. What a great duel!
Such a shame Paul is disqualified for normal summoning when he couldn't. =P I blame Slifer. Making lightning and thunder strikes rain down got Paul seeing double and losing track of stuff. Filthy shadow realm magics.

Paul messed up. Obelisk only had 2K when you summoned him. He forgot slifer was there first so he loses 2K on the summon
When Obelisk is normal summoned, monster,spells and traps cant be activated.

I think this was actually a fair matchup, they each broke the rules the same way. Paul with his extra summon called out in the editors note, and Larry normal summoned twice during his turn that starts just before the 22 minute mark
At 4:36 Paul could've set the 2 nimble momongas in Face down Defense position (as it states on the card) to gain an additional 2000LP and should have shuffled his deck afterwards. Missed chance.

On my playground, the gods automatically negated auto-win conditions.

It's funny because both Larry and Paul screwed the rules once hahaha; you can't activate revived sky god if your opponent already has 6 or more cards since they must be able to draw at least one! And then obviously the double normal %)

If I had to make a guess about the God Cards Vs Exodia thing...I wanna say that Exodia takes it. Here's my reason: the god cards were sealed in separate cards, and are stronger than regular monsters, right? Exodia, not only destroys everything on entry but was so powerful, that he had to be split into 5 pieces to be sealed. I know it sounds like I don't have much to back it up, but Exodia being so strong he had to be split into parts seems pretty open and shut, you know?
Wait Larry cheated! When he attacked Obelisk, he was supposed to go back with Paul to the ancient Egyptian times and witness a duel they had five thousand (or three thousand if you have subtitles on) years ago in their stunningly hot Ancient Egyptian appearances!

So while that would have been really cool to see, its never been mentioned of Yugi or his Grandfather ever finding the other pieces of Exodia that Weevile threw over the railing of the ship to Duelist Kingdom. As far as the story every showed us, it was never possible after that for Yugi to get all 5 pieces. It would have made the last duel between Atem and Yugi VERY INTERESTING indeed.

It only pains me that that one mistake in the rules you made turned the entire duel around.
So the end result is altered.
I haven't touched ygo since I was a kid and it released. Back when we all just played cards on the playground with zero idea how to actually play the game. I still catch every upload just to watch y'all duke it out lol
You know what would be cool a Battle of the Series! Each player has to pick 1 series and within that series pick 3 characters from the pool of the cast of that series for their decks. Have a tournament format where everyone plays against each other with best of 3s. Side decking to the next level! Deck that wins is banned for the next round, can come back if that player loses second round. They don't have to be anime exact but the theme of the deck has to be strongly tied if not same theme as the character played. So a Yugi character can't just play red eyes decks but can have red eyes in his deck so Dragoon for example is legal.
Can we get the deck lists for these? These are awesome!

FINALLY! Been waiting for this so long. NGL sliffer is the most busted one in theory with its "poker" support but still this was insane. Ty for video. Idea for next: Anime duels. Bakura (with his Board support) Vs Kaiba. We also need rematch with Schroedinger Valkyries vs Joey (red eyes support). Will be intense and cool!
Valkyries deck is a really good idea. You can pull some insane plays off with that archetype.

I think the deal is the gods are not as strong as Exodia, but they can fuse together to form Holactie and that nets an auto win. The final battle in ancient Egypt has Zorc, the gods, Holactie, and Exodia all in their actual forms battling each other, not as cards. I forget how it played out, and to even say if I did would spoil the entire last act of the series anyway.
