I honestly made a weird blue eyes charmers deck and its been fun on Master duel
To me these duels seem so much more fun since you can’t just lock your opponent out and it’s a fun back and forth

@@blunk778 don't play much anymore, and I speak almost purely from playing Harpies, but it's definitely not super fun these days. Basically need to drop a turn 1 Pet XYZ Dragon or I lose, turn 2 need the link Harpie and just try and starve the opponent's setup after that while I'm still protected.......every game. Didn't build an extra deck toolbox to just drop 2 forever 😂
EDIT: tl:Dr I'm forced to play a worse version of the meta play style if I play meta decks with my stinky old rogue deck

The Charmers (as do the Ninjas) get a lot of flak for being too quirky or two-dimensional decks, but played with the right support or spell/effect/traps, they can upset a game or two in a match.

The structure deck by itself isn't great but add in the links and some good rank 4 xyz and it works pretty well cause they've got a decent rank 4 toolbox when you pair the Possessed versions with their partners like jigabyte.
They are also cute. So there is that as well.
@@cardking7776 If Charmers could get their own Rank4 Xyz boss monster the deck could see better play with more control over the opponent, plus this would also give access to Utopic Draco Future easily if the effects are done right to be able to have multiple Xyz on your field

That's the point. It's unpainted, allowing them to save money, while driving up demand by having them be 'rare'.

Me too! It was the first structure deck I bought. I bought 3x Spirit Charmers, my friend bought 3x Sacred Beasts, and we had a blast.

The sacred beast archetype is so much fun to play in master duel. You can combine it with spright engine to add more spice to your board.

@@manzilla48 two to three blue, one carrot, one red, two to three jet, two elf, two gigantic, one sprind, two to three starter, and one of the other spells if you have room.
Nice duel. But I notice the Life Points value for each player is missing, would be very helpful if you guys added it.

Favorite Structure decks eh. Me personally I always have a soft spot for the Cyberstrike Structure Deck. It was THE Structure deck that made me actually want to compete in Locals after being away from the game in many years. Not to mention Cyber Dragons are one of my favorite decks period! That said, I think my top pick is the Albaz Structure Deck. That deck when it was actually built with the Despia engine and stuff ended up being one of favs as well. Also shout out to the Sacred Beasts as well.
I appreciate it when the editing keeps track of the life point totals. I get it's extra work, but I find it very helpful. Alternatively, you could place the phone in the center to show the life point totals without laborious editing?
Spirit Charmers was the structure I bought when I first got back into Yu-Gi-Oh. I still have them as a fun deck because I like the vibe.

Not gonna lie, I'd probably be more upset getting the Ghost Rare figure cuz the colors of the normal one look better imo.
I was thinking the exact same thing. No shade, but it seems like one of the guys that colors them was like "Damn, man. I got a date in 15 minutes and I don't have time to paint the rest of these." Then left a note saying "ghost rare figures" and they just ran with it lmao.

Charmers are my all time favorite archetype. When they first released their structure deck I was ecstatic that they would get more supports. It made me feel like how much I love the card game as they were the first cards I loved since childhood. Its such a fun and easy deck to play but I do want to see more non-generic supports for them in the future. We still do not have the retrains for Happy Lover & Metabat, the alternate art of Familiar-Possessed Dharc, and Eria, Lyna, & Dharc's Channeler forms. Aside from those, I would really love to see more extra deck monsters for them like a Rank 4 Xyz or a Fusion boss monster for them, some new spells/traps for extra search options and setups, and maybe make the new familiar/link spirits as effect monsters that can be used better than the original familiars.
Youtooz marketing over there like "Wait, you mean, they find it to be more valuable if their collectables aren't painted/inked?.. From a sales / production side this is just a win-win, let's do it!"

Like Trell was saying, I really enjoy the new Ice Barriers. Not quite the same, but I've been having decent success with them on Master Duel. Also been experimenting combining Ice Barriers with IceJades, but the jury is still out on that one for me.

I actually loved the Charmer Structure deck. Fairy Tail Charmer is actually my primary deck for IRL play, and I often use the deck at my locals for casual and competitive play. *Steals your Charmer deck, JK JK*
Saaaaaame and I also have a Ninja or Spell/Magic counter decks as well (those are my three main ones 😅)
The Spirit Charmers and Fairy Tail monsters (plus their support cards and others that search or boost or protect for spellcasters) mesh well with Summoner / Empowered / Doraido / Endymion / Spellbook monsters or cards too.

The sleeves match! Amazing, you do listen to the community, also sucks for getting Spirit Charmers Paul, its the least fun deck... but you guys still made it interesting.
Why the charmer deck is good, it needs some to make it legit competitive but it's still solid
It needs more continuous spell/trap cards for search consistency, a way to extra normal summon, and/or change the attribute of the opponent's monster from either GY or field as a quick effect. I'd love to see a new extra deck monster for them like a rank 4 Xyz monster
@@IamJerf true, but there are tons of special summon cards that are well worth the investment that are considerably cheaper to build the deck up. Like the fact that you have the rite of aramesir cards that adds like 3 more monsters to give the familiar possessed monsters in the 3k mark, I feel if they added in another search card or unban code talker I could totally see this deck topping again
@@animetree9379 right now I have a Branded build + Magistus Zoroa with my Charmer deck. It works and I like it but I also wanna try out the Adventurer package too since they got reprinted recently

I enjoy the Charmer structure deck. They just need a few more things to become stronger like a continuous trap that lets you change the attribute on field and grave at any time once per turn.
They should have a card similar to Plunder Patroll Booty, which has almost exactly the effect that you've said, where it changes the attribute of an opponent's monster + target a Charmer/Familiar-Possessed monster in your GY and either special summon it or shuffle it into the deck.
@@IamJerf why should a charmer/familiar-possessed should be shuffled into the deck? i'm a charmer player but i don't understand this, maybe to be special summoned with unpossessed?
@vonakakkola basically. You wanna keep utilizing Unpossessed to have more resources in your deck to special summon other than the generic 1500 Spellcasters we can summon but all we have are Zoroa (Fire) and the many versions of Ecclesia (Light). You won't necessarily need to shuffle everything into the deck since you still need the GY for Partnerships as well
I played a bunch of Sacred Beasts on Master Duel. Beatsticks in the front, floodgates in the back. It's surprisingly fun, if a bit inconsistent.

This duel seemed like what I know Yugioh used to be like. I don't know if the shorts are representative of the current meta, but I can't be bothered to wait 10 minutes to play 1 turn. It also seems impossible to follow.

@Uzik0uchiha I felt like Konami didn't give them a chance in this structure deck despite winning the top 5 spots in the voting contest. Out of all the 5 structure decks, they got the lowest amount of supports given to them, not to mention TCG took away Evenly Matched and replaced it with Raigeki. Focusing only on the 4 original Charmers and not giving us Lyna and Dharc + their familiars, or even the Charmer links or a new extra deck monster like a rank 4 Xyz, kinda nerfs the deck drastically

My favourite structure deck has to be HERO Strike. Got one at a Comic Con a few years ago and effectively got back into the game with it. Entered a charity event tournament a few weeks after getting the deck and it was the open road from there

It's a shame how bad the Charmer SD was. I didn't expect them to become Tier 1, but some actual good support, and new Monster's for that deck that aren't subpar Monarch's would have been much appreciated.
Not to mention, the Field Spell. Great art wasted on a mediocre card.
I'm with you there, as a huge Charmer fan, I love their new artworks, I just hate how little support they were given + no Charmer links or a new extra deck monster like a rank 4 Xyz. The Field Spell should have been searchable (as well as the quick play) and could have done something better than just search a familiar. The negate is fine but they should have given them either an extra normal summon or a way to special summon the Familiar-Possessed monsters without the tributing conditions but still keep their effects (which benefits both Lyna and Dharc who can search)
@@IamJerf Indeed. I was really hoping for some retrains of the Familiar-Possessed, to give them some real powerful effects that would have given the deck more synergy. Right now, those original versions are basically Normal Monsters.
@SakuraAvalon the new alternate artwork for the Familiar-Possessed should have been the actual retrains and could have been made to properly figure out the archetype's gimmick. I felt like they shouldn't have retrained the pets a 2nd time or at least they could have mention they could be treated as "Charmer" or "Familiar-Possessed" monsters
@@IamJerf Yeah, that's what I thought they were doing when they first revealed the Alt Arts.
Then it just turned out to be a lame gimmick to get people to buy more than three copies of the SD.
That would be a handy way to address how out of date the old Charmer's are.
Either that, or retrain the original Charmer's, make their effects a lot more powerful, while also still stealing your Opponent's Monsters, and make them able to be flipped the turn they're set.

Really like the Sacred Beasts, glad they got a Structure Deck when they did, wish Uria and Hamon would get another Form. If the Charmer Spellcasters got a stronger ATK/DEF and Effect Upgrade I think they could be viable, maybe something in the name of Elemental Maestra for their final forms.
Trell and Paul, have you guys ever considered doing an Egyptian God Card Deck vs a Sacred Beasts Deck? All 3 Gods vs all 3 Beasts.
They did that a while back, with Alex vs Paul, I believe.

I think the Charmer/Familiar-Possessed are fine with their Atk/Def because that's mainly what the spells and traps revolve around generally, plus with Awakening of the Possessed they can easily become 3000 Atk beaters when having at least 3 attributes on your field and with Unpossessed they gain an additional 800 Atk during damage calculations. They absolutely do need to have better effects because for Charmers their flip effects are too slow and sometimes cant function properly if they dont have their backrow supporting them, and Familiar-Possessed are literally just vanilla beaters since we never use their effect to special summon them from the deck by tributing the required monsters. Either they need better retrains (not like the Channelers) that have the effects of both Charmers & FP with a new unique effect or we would need a spell/trap card that lets us special summon the Familiar-Possessed monsters from the deck to the field and make it as if it was summoned by their own effects
charmers don't need stronger atk or def, they can easily gain 2750 or even more than 3000 atk
@@IamJerf i actually use familiar-possessed effect, and about the fact that they're "too slow", that's an issue of modern game rather than a problem of this archetype
and about "if it was summoned by their own effects" no please, if konami make this, they would ruin the gimmick of this archetype, ok for new supports, but not this
