I am very sorry you're having to go through this. I have little respect for many doctors and have dealt with some who were horrible. They don't have the listening skill they should have. Minds already made up.
I had to be my own health advocate and researched the medication I was on and made my Dr change it. The BP medication I was on made my legs swell. 😮
The same thing happened to my brother when being referred to another cancer doctor.

OMG I have all your symptoms!! I just got the news this past Tuesday that I am now a type 2 diabetic!!! I’m 62 and it is gonna be absolutely hard for a half Italian woman to not have carbs!!!! SERIOUSLY???? Pasta, no way in hell! I am not eating wheat, that is not pasta to me! And then my hair, I should just buzz it off! I’m bald up top. So embarrassing. You are in my prayers 🙏🏻💖✝️

I had alot of same symptoms and got tired of med after med with no answers....changed primary .....to a full MD. Now have a diagnosis and plan of action.
I have a new primary doctor, the one I had since I moved to Florida, 12 years ago. Since I have been with this doctor at a different office, I'm learning their system ,different than my other one Got a call to make an appointment for 2 specislist. I had received approvals from my Insurance. The day for my appointment with one of the Drs they called me to let me know they did not receive an approval. I was pissed because they had it a month before. At that time we had 4 weeks of downpours. When I got the appt. It was the month after. Dr. Had approval the before they called me to call.
Sometimes a doctor gets to know you so well that they tend to pay attention when you have symptoms. I left my primary and I am glad I did. Not that I didn't like him, but I was feeling like you are now. Hang in there Ana!!!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Same sht happened to me. I had the referral but they wanted the one online. I had to go and stand next to the receptionist to put it through 😢😢😢

Harmon changes will make your hair thin out , when I went through the change my hair did , but then it went back to normal.

I’ve experienced that when I’m on a cancellation list it’s almost for super early appointed appointments such as 8:00 am. I don’t like that but I get to see the doctor sooner is great.
I can only imagine how frustrating that was. Don’t give up! Continue being an advocate for your own health. You got this, Anna. Hair loss can occur from so many different things. Mine, however, is from being flat out of estrogen, lol. My hair has continued to get thinner and thinner and thinner since about the age of 50 🙁. I’m currently 71.

I'm not a doctor first off but I do know about lymphedema and lipedema. That will make it hard for you to lose weight almost impossible. I only work one 12 hr shift a week. In that 12 hrs I put on 10 pounds of fluid that's even with my compressions on. It take me the next week to pump that extra fluid off of me. Just so it can all come back when I work only 1 day a week. I wish you the best of luck Anna . If you have any questions feel free to ask darlin.
You are a beautiful lady. Don't be stressed out, because your cortisol level will rise which causes weight gain. I go through the same thing and finally git mine under control. My prayers ate going out to you.

I totally understand. I have been trying for 4 years due to being over tiers no gumption, ect to get my hormones checked with both primary and gyno. No go with either. I agree with the whats up with these drs that something this simple is getting pushed under the rug. I will be moving on as well. Wishing you all the luck and hope you get some answers soon
Your health concerns sound a lot like mine. My legs and feet have been swelling, lack of energy, loosing hair, blood pressure up. My tests have been ok but I still have my cardiologist appointment coming up. It is very scary feeling this way with no explanation. I wish you well and will keep you in my prayers.

oh Ana, so very sorry about todays appt. I JUST said to my hubs that ANYTHING medical is such a $hit Show. I feel like you have to fight to get answers on EVERYTHING. its exhausting & frustrating *SIGH* I agree with your daughter, it’s inexcusable from the test results to the referral. no harm in calling the specialist again & explaining what happened today. sending up a prayer that they give you an asap! sending hugs

Having worked at the front desk for doctors…whomever you asked about the referral, I could’ve had this done.. simple question to PCP and got it done! PS… I think you need to update your phone 🤞
Dear Ana I’m sorry for this unpleasant experience today! It’s so annoying with online referrals. I would certainly suggest to call your PCP and ask if they sent it and then confirm with the other practice. I had the same situation with a dermatologist my PCP referred me to and it pushed back my appointment twice. Also, do they give you access to an online portal? If yes then you might be able to see the notes they put in when doing referrals and maybe the referral. I’m sure everything will be fine and you will get your new appointment soon. When trying to find out what is making you ill, don't forget to have your teeth/gums checked. I had blood poisoning from an infection that did not show up at my routine dental visit. It was making me very, very sick. It took a while before the problem was discovered and I was literally losing my life. I certainly hope and pray that you will soon find healing.

I’ve learned to always get the primary dr to fax the referral and call the place I’m going too at least 3 days prior to your visit just incase they never sent the referral and get your own copy just incase for your own record.

My doctors have a cancellation list. If I add my name, I will get a call if something opens up before the scheduled appt. See if your doctors do the same.

I’m so sorry, Ana. Make it make sense though. You have the referral in a paper form. It’s the gymnastics they make you go through. Especially with me whenever I do stuff like that. I have a PPO plan so I don’t need referrals. However, since most plans you need referrals I have to jump through the hoops even. 😒

Covid can make your hair thin out. It finally caught us in April and two months later my hair started falling - still happening now - a month later!!! My sister and several others I know had the same thing happen. It is very real!
Sorry Ana you had to go thru that. I don't know why they couldn't take your referral and put it in your fille, so you could keep your apt. They would get it electronically anyway. Your makeup came out so nice!! You should do a makeup video. Thanks for sharing.
Ana, I’m sorry to hear this- my mom goes through this with her doctors too. You have to jump through hoops to ever get a good answer. Our healthcare system is so messed up. I’ll tell you the same thing I tell her, stay strong, but it is so so important to be your own advocate!!!!!! The system don’t care about you, you have to care about you!!!!! We’re here for you!
Sweety your going threw the change I went threw what you are vitamins help and I lost 15o lbs on the kito gummies they are great but I suffer from the same thing it's the change it sucks but just stay positive

Maybe switch to another Primary. Ask for a referral to a Registered Dietician. I bet they can help you w a couple of aspects of your health as well. Good luck with Specialist!!! It'll happen. 😉

That is so stressful! The only thing I can think of is that they can't take any chances that your paper referral was not good. I guess you could have said is it about money? I'm sure the out of pocket was crazy or you could have signed that for today you are willing to pay. They probably still have not seen you. Do all the right things. So sorry.

Why in the world they give u a paper referral if is not accepted by the doctors office. I will call the doctors office, ask to speak with the practice manager and also call your health insurance and complain about the service you are receiving from your doctor. I have done this and believe me the doctors office will get in the phone and even make an appointment for you.
Anna I know it's frustraighting..I turned to Jesus .I weighed at 425 pounds no energy lots of health issues..when I went to church I started out going at 425 pds..2 liters of oxygen and when alter call would come..I couldn't kneel to pray because my weight issues so I would sit on a bench by the alter and pray .that was my alter..my greatest wish was to be able to kneal down on my knees at the alter and pray..one night God gave me a dream and I know without a shadow of a doubt it was from God..be let me know he was going to take the weight from me..he even showed me at the alter in a church and I was skinny and I now am at 250 pds I'm off oxygen been off that for a very long time...honey God knows how your feeling..he's loves u so much..my advice is pray pray pray hon..God will even let u know vif there's something you could be or not be doing that's causing this...God Bless u Miss Anna..lo w and prayers from southern Oh
Sorry to hear you weren't able to have your appointment today. I agree with your daughter, time for a new primary care. Ladies, I have had a gall stone erupt, I had told my gastro doc I was having pain, she ignored it and said let's wait and see... well wait and see was less than 24 hours when I was in worst pain and I had to be rushed to ER and emergency surgery. She was FIRED!

Oh man I hear you...I am 55 and overweight and menopause has put me through it! It takes forever to get an appt. I made one in May and have to wait till sept.outragious. It took 6 weeks before my referel went through to my pain specialist and foot surgeon because of my insurance holding everything up and then I had to do 5 weeks of PT before insurance gave the ok to my referels. So sorry you are going through it too.
I so understand what you are going through, I ended up going to a genetics doctor and he ran a lot of blood tests, and found out that I have mitochondrial disease, I finally had a diagnosis for my tiredness, and a lot of other problems. I really hope you find out what's going on, I'll have you in my thoughts and prayers.

Have your thyroid checked. This happened to me and my thyroid was having a problem. My hair was falling out and I was tired all the time and I felt swollen and I wasn't sleeping well at all.
I was with my doctor for years. Then I got a new doctor. I had to wait for months to get an appointment, but I found out the new patients got their appointments sooner. I decided to go with my husband's doctor and got an appointment within 2 weeks. I thought about changing my doctor for 2 years. I am happy that I made the changes.
Thats ridiculous. Whats the use of them giving you the paper. Id be upset and cry to. Both paper or on the computer should be fine. Least now youd know whats going on. The doctor's add to your stress today. I hope you can get in soon again. Too bad the doctor at your other office couldnt have done it right away since you were there at the other office. Dont give up.
I had to call the supervisor the other day of the clinic I go to They don't return your calls. It takes forever to get in to see a specialastronauts Or a doctor And I complained my head off It's terrible. What you have to go to But I tell you one thing , the supervisor called right away
Estrogen got me and now I have breast cancer. I waited too long so I'm hoping it will all work out in the end. Ladies, please check your hormones. I've never been a 'go to the doctor' person and that was also my downfall.
My daughters gynecologist, finally was the dr. To order the right thyroid test for her. She couldn't loose weight, was falling asleep all the time. She was finally diagnosed correctly. She has hashemoto, sorry can't spell it. After 3 months she is finally on the correct meds. She already lost 25 pounds, has more energy.

Honestly, Ana, I don't even know what's going on with health care these days. Every damn thing is a fight. Sorry for cussing but I absolutely know how frustrating it is. I literally fought every step of the way for three years when my husband was sick. I fought doctors, staff, hospitals ...everyone. The emotional toll it can take is horrible. All I can say is hang in there and keep fighting. Don't be afraid to be forceful if you need to in order to get taken care of. And don't be afraid to switch doctors and if there's any way you can actually talk to the doctor and let her know your concerns, do that too. I'm sorry you're dealing with all of this. Have faith that everything will work out the way it's supposed to. Keeping you in my prayers and sending you much love and hugs. ❤❤❤🙏
Girl I hear ya! I was about to chg my primary but the new one I saw she left that clinic to pursue a different medical field. I had the other primary on hold ‘cause I go through LOTS of frustrations - THIS THAT N OTHER n didn’t know if it was gonna work out. While I was w/her I complained of the “glitches” that went on n made me feel like my self care was a literal baby sitting of the clinics, etc. Honey, she told me that was the case in the medical field. I was appalled, I thought they were more “on point”!! I am seeing a coach that comes to my house to listen to me n she colabs with me for taking better control of my healthcare. 2 heads are better than one. It’s called Pearls program. You may need to seek someone in the medical field or your insurance to guide you through these frustrating roadblocks that only add stress to your health! That’s what’s working for me….

Anna we know God has a plan for all of us, and we just have to keep praying, however it is so frustrating bc we have to be our own advocates now when we go to the doctor. I sometimes feel that We are given 10 minutes due to the time that the doctors are now given with these insurance companies and therefore we are not heard. I don't like adding my experience mixed in when this is strictly your unfortunate situation. But had my recovery coach Meghan would've done her job, I believe I wouldn't have developed p.t.s.d. I hear that I been with my oncologist/hematologist for 3 to 4 years now and I'm not getting answers and constantly in the hospital for infusions so I set up a 2nd opinion doctor referred by my diabetic doctor. .it seems sometimes they get too comfortable and aren't proactive only reactive and it's time for a change. I pray you find some answers soon...🙏🙏❤️❤️

Sounds like PCOS. I have it. It's a hormonal imbalance. Yes, PCOS can affect the thyroid too. Or vice-versa. Also, kinda sounds like diabetes. Usually when you have PCOS you're at higher risk of type 2 diabetes. I was borderline type 2 at 115 lbs. Believe it or not, weight isn't always the root cause. Usually it's the side affect to the imbalance. I hope you get answers soon!
Ana the same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago the doctor's office is 45 minutes away I was there 20 minutes before my appointment but I still didn't get to see the doctor anyway Ana you are a sweetheart with a beautiful soul I have been watching you for a ever long time you're the best I love you girl
i am sure they have done it, but have they done a good thyroid, tsh, meatabolic blood workup,,,,you describing yourself sounds just like me,,,took me a few endos until i found a good one and diagnosed me with hashis, adrenal fatigue, hypothyroidism....have you ever looked into weight loss surgery? sometimes no matter what we do our bodies fight against us,,,i know the frustration,,,,i had gastric bypass and went from 297 to 158,,it saved my life,,,and although i still have all the issues fighting against me, my took ( surgery) makes it easier to manage
