after receiving so many compliments on my home, I thought I create a video for you to see how our lovely seaside Cottage was transformed from an empty shell into our home.

I live along the Scottish coast as well. The dolphins, porpoise, seals otters, cranes, swans and occasional whale make it magical.

A previous co-worker recently sent me a link to your videos stating that she felt my spirit in what you shared. I can see why she thought that. This video was inspiring. For the last ten years, I have live a more nomadic life not by choice and had to down size and store most of my belongings. Watching your life-dream transformation video gave me hope that maybe one day, I can create a niche where my soul can find its home. The bedroom dresser with birds on it really spoke to me. I am sorting that idea away. Scotland has spoken to me for years. At the age of 15, I was taking a foreign language class in high school and we had the opportunity to complete a form to connect with someone overseas via a pen pal program. I picked a pen pal from Scotland. It is unbelievable that 46 years later, we are still writing to each other (yes, snail mail letters with some emailing, too). He was raised in Bridge of Allan, Stirling. His family is still there and he visits often even though he is now living elsewhere. Thank you for sharing your Light and Truth with the world. You've made it a better, brighter place for all of us.

We had a cottage on Lake Superior in MI USA and we spent 2 years making it the cutest, coziest place ever but then we left it to move back near family. I’m 62 now, so doubt I willl ever do it again and will just have to be satisfied watching others share theirs special places now. Your place is just precious. Thanks for the video!

Love the tiles in the bathroom, the contrast tile is subtle being same colour and finish, looks so beautiful and classy compared to 00s contrast tiles ❤❤

I also am drawn to older smaller homes. Can’t image large basketball court sized room, so cold.
You started with a very cute base that was obviously well loved by the previous owner, and transformed it into something that still keeps the sense of coziness and comfort in your styles. And that front door is beautiful, both as it was, and with your lovely color choice! Those little windows are so charming!

Beautiful, simply Beautiful! I loved it when I found your channel, I clicked on it right away. Everything you did to your cottage was perfect in my eyes. My Momma was English and my Daddy, Scottish. We all lived in America. They’re both gone now as well as my older sister. They traveled to England and Scotland several times and loved them so much. I live in a lovely 193 year old cottage deep in the Northern Irish countryside. The only water I get to look out at are puddles.

Truly, everything I wanted in a little house from the Laura Ashley furniture and paint to the china you chose!!! Maybe it is my Scottish heritage that connects those dreams. I have been binge watching your videos…I thank you for the calm and also bringing me back to one of my most favourite places in the world. My Mum was a Scot and my husband and I were fortunate to be able to travel to Scotland several times over the years, not only to see why my Mum missed it so much but also to visit with relatives…it is definitely a magical place. Thank you for transporting me into my dream. I first went to Scotland over a decade ago and since then we’ve been visiting the same place that stole our hearts, numerous times a year. We’ve been visiting other Scotland places too but we’re always drawn back to Whithorn and it really does have our hearts. We’re currently looking for our own little cottage by the sea (Whithorn is SW Scotland) and your video cemented my belief that dreams *do* come true. I love everything about your beautiful home. The colours, the little nic knacks, the “feel” is just so calming, welcoming and beautiful. I was wondering if you could take a few moments to go through your experience of finding your dream home up there, how you found that cottage, the process etc. Such a beautiful video. I already lived in Edinburgh before we bought the Cottage, so I did not buy it living in another country. However, you can buy property in Scotland if you aren't a resident. Usually a viewing is mandatory (I am not sure if it is a legal requirement but most Estate Agents will not rent or sell anything that hasn't been viewed). You have to provide a Home Report when you sell your property which means a brief survey is done and will tell you the work that might need to be done or not as the buyer. Scotland has a bidding process when buying a house, sometimes there is also a fixed price but it is rather rare. This means you bid over the asking price but you do not know what other bidder's offers are. It is somewhat bizarre to me but this is how it is done. If there is more than one bidder a closing date is set for which everyone can change their bidding if they wish.
We lived not far away from where we are now and did look for Cottages online mainly.
I hope this helps. I have no knowledge on how you do this if you do not live in Scotland regarding payment/mortgage etc.
