Gogeta smiles, he enjoys the life he is given, deapite it lasting 30 minutes, he wants to end fights quick, he tries to save others from evil, he smiles when returning Janemba to his true self, and Broly because he's not a bad guy, he was overcome by grief, enraged, angry, he went berserk, Gogeta saved him from that pain, and smiles, but against Hearts, Hearts got destroyed, there was no good in him, he was, by all counts, evil... He was sad, he didn't wish for Hearts to die that way, he wanted to save Hearts from evil, but there was no good in Hearts, hence why he got destroyed, Gogeta didn't smile, not because he destroyed someone, but because he couldn't save someone from evil

The reason he smiles at the end is because his Soul Punisher purifies the opponents soul and that’s what makes him happy. He didn’t smile against Hearts because the Soul Punisher completely destroyed him instead of purifying him. But he also thinks about the fact that he might never be created again and admires the land around him as that might be the last time he ever sees it.
