He does this quite often, possibly because he was a singing teacher before his big break. We recently had a terrible car accident near where I live, where 5 teenagers were killed. Guy came and visited their high school and sang I'm Standing With You as a way to help their friends and the school deal with the tragedy...just beautiful!
He did that? I am Aussie and this is the first I have heard of Guy doing this. He really is a genuine guy. I hope he helped everyone to help heal from that terrible tragedy.
I'm glad he did that , it was such a shock and huge tragedy for the whole community

OMG! I was just checking YT before I go to bed and I saw this. I've seen it about 50 times and it gets me every time. That song "I'm Standing With You", gets me every time and Guy is a champion. Those kids are amazing. Good on you Charlie
As well as being one of Australia's premier singer songwriters having clocked up six number 1 singles and 3 number 1 albums he is a genuinely nice person who gives a lot of his time to charity through his non profit foundation ranging from Mental Health and youth programs.

He is a special, humble guy and he does this often. To see the face of those kids light up when Guy walked into the room was exceptional and will remain in their memories for life. “ Standing with You” is a special song to me as I suffer from depression and have nasty, dark thoughts so when I feel low I listen to it. Charlie have a good cry it gets to me every time I watch it. He was judge on the voice in 2021 watch his performance on the Voice it’s absolutely amazing. Standing with You he wrote for his cousin w ho was suffering depression.

This is my favourite clip of Guy and this version of Standing With You. My after thought is with yours - but probably darker. Yes, kids are growing up in a tougher world -True. But what's also true is the % of kids who are silently suffering various types of abuse, mostly in their own homes. Places that are supposed to be safe and nurturing. So when I scan across these little faces, some of them so emotional, I can't help but ponder how deep some of these lyrics go.
I remember one or two 'special guest' moments from my own Aussie school years - and I'm over 50 so you're right - those moments stay with you. But I enjoyed this (and have enjoyed your other) Aussie reactions almost as much as the kids enjoyed their experience. You're clearly a beautiful soul Charlie. Keep doing what you're doing.

Guy and John Farhan are our best male top vocalists , many others in Australia besides these two it's just these two have the edge over a lot of other down under.
So good that the kids like Guy so much as he is a very good role model for them to follow.
I'm often underwhelmed by music and the tendency toward idolization of various songs, but Charlie's reaction, the excitement, bewilderment and the tears all around shows that music can be a language that touches our souls in a way that informs a higher power and our seeking for a deeper knowledge of our lives.

Aside from being a brilliant singer and songwriter, Guy invests his time in school music programmes. This includes areas where kids don't usually have access musical instruments. Nice.☮️

Choir was written by Guy after a good friend of his committed suicide. That’s what the lyrics are about. Another brilliant performance was his duet with Jordan Tavita singing Hallelujah in the grand final of The Voice Australia 2022. Guy was a judge and Jordan was his pupil. He came runner up. I’m standing with you was for his friend who was depressed and committed suicide.

As for Guy Sebastian. He’s one of our amazing Aussie talents. Love his music. There’s another video on CZcams where the kids get revenge on him. His wife helped set it up. It’s worth checking out too. Search Guy Sebastian cinema surprise and it should come up. My other fave of his is Battle Scars. I like the video clip version better than the live as it tells the story.

I love guy and his music but I think children singing Choir was a little inappropriate, when you know the subject matter and why he wrote it. That's my opinion anyway.
The words to Choir are not a problem for believers and this is a Christian school where they understand that Guy's friend who died is now in Heaven and this song is a celebration of his life. The words "Now you're singing with the Choir" is referring to the Choir of Angels.
