"Why didn't people come and sing for us as a kid?" I'm gone 😂😂😂😂😂
That performance was so perfect you would think it was the actual studio recoding, that is how good Guy Sebastian is.
Man ... you have to listen to Choir. Guy wrote this after a colleague Luke took his own life. It is such a beautiful tribute song to his friend and the video includes Guy's and Luke's sons. Standing With You is also a supportive song for people struggling with mental health. Amazing.
He's actually a teacher by trade. He loves teaching kids. How well behaved were those little guys sitting in raptures listening to him produce THAT performance in a school hall. He's talented and he's so nice. Have you seen his Eurovision performance? He wrote it in 2/3 weeks got on a plane from Oz (big jet lag) then came down with a horrible chest infection, but sung up a Storm anyway. The guy who won the Eurovision contest that year, said he felt that guy Sebastian was cheated and that he should've won. He said it was the one song the whole stadium sang along with from the first chorus because it was that 'catchy'.
no wonder l was in tears during this song , my brother took his own life last week. this song will stay with me forever.
@@peterlucas789 so sorry for your loss 😢 Sincerest condolences and may your dear brother rest in peace 😔❤️
Thankyou Judy k your condolences are very much appreciated. lost my dad 90 years old about a month ago so been a tough month but life goes on and time heals us.❤
@@peterlucas789 take care, ok? ❤️
Guy wasn't a contestant on The Voice, he is a judge on the show. He was a contestant on & ultimate winner of the first season of Australian Idol way back in 2003. He is an incredible talent & one of our National Treasures.
The kids crying & knowing that music can help you & touch you in that way. Such an emotional performance. Brought tears to my eyes.
Choir is a song written by Guy in honour of his best mate who took his own life. It’s all about singing in a choir in heaven.
😭😭that hit deep. Choir in heaven
Guy won the first Australian Idol back in 2003. He was a judge on The Voice 2021. His contestant Bella Taylor Smith won. You really need to hear her duet with Guy singing The Prayer. I loved this video. When Guy walked in the kids' reaction was priceless. Then when he sang Standing With You, some of the kids started to cry. Guy's music is about losing a close friend who had mental health issues. Very powerful lyrics.
What a champion. Those kids will remember this their whole lives.
I remember when the coca cola yo yo demonstration team visited in year 1. So yes.. they will remember this forever,
Guy won Australian Idol, he is a coach on the Voice.
The reactions of the children was so very beautiful. You could see it touched their hearts and souls. I frequently play this to remind me of the innocence and purity of children
He's a judge on the voice. He won the first season of Australian Idol :)
Guy was a teacher before he got his big break., thats why he does this, we are lucky to have amazing talent in our neck of the woods
Thanks so much Nick. I adore your reactions especially to our Guy Sebastian. Guy wrote 'Choir' as a tribute to his friend and band member who sadly took his own life. It won Song of the Year at our A.R.I.A. awards. Guy actually has faced a lot of heartbreak. He wrote 'Standing With You' after his cousin was struggling with depression and Guy had many long conversations with him and wrote it for him. The video for that won Best Video. Watching your analysis of people actually shows just what a beautiful soul you have. Keep doing what you're doing... you have an army of fans....especially here in Australia
Guy Sebastian is worthy of global success. Just an amazing voice and an amazing personality.
Guy wrote this song after the sudden death of his closest and dearest friends, who took his life. Guy was our first winner of Australian Idol, now he is a Voice Judge here in Australia 🇦🇺❤️
This is the sort of person Guy is ;)
Just beautiful. The tears almost fried my computer. The reaction form those kids will live with Guy for a while too. Precious!
This is a beautiful song highlighting the fragility of mental illness. As a sufferer this song brings me to tears every time. Knowing there are people out there being my satellite helps. Love you Ne Sebastian and everything you do to improve the world. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I hadn’t seen this before & was very touched by the performance. Your comment stood out from the rest. I’m also the same & you nailed it word for word. ❤
I love watching you enjoy listening to Guy Sebastian.
He won the very first edition of "Australian Idol"
What a fantstic surprise for those children and I did cry lol He sings so beautifully .I cried .
Oh! I'm crying now. Both of those songs are beautiful. Isn't it so wonderful to see the reaction of the little kids - reacting to the emotion & intensity of the feelings. They're gonna remember this for ever. Great reaction. Time to check out some Guy Sebastian 😍
His brother won the voice, he won the 1st series of Australian Idol.
Isn’t he magnificent ❤️
So proud of “our Guy !”, and it’s so wonderful seeing you love him as much as us Australians do too! ❤️🇦🇺
“Choir” is a great song too, with a heart-felt message behind it. I love singers who can sing live just as well, or better, than in the recording studio. They’re true artists.
Awesome reaction.
Mate, Nick Wilson, I don't know much about you ... but you blow me away ... you're musically gifted. I'm impressed with your tone accurate replication after just one take. Well done mate.
Guy's control and tone is incredible.... And never understood how he is not a global super star. But such is life and the music biz ;)
Guy actually won Australian Idol back in 2003. He's a coach on The Voice now.
To do that for those kids, he's a legend. They will never forget it and he just extended his future fan base as well.
He won the first Australian Idol. He’s a judge on the voice. He is an incredible talent 💕💕
He won Australian Idol in 2003 and he's now a judge on the Voice Australia
All schools in Australia have school uniforms regardless if they are public or private. It just varies on how strict the uniforms are with things like hair colour, piercings etc
Guy Sebastian came from the 1st season of Australian Idol. He was a judge on the voice
We are lucky in Australia that our singers visit our schools. I remember the time that The Seekers came to our primary school back in 1969. They sang quite a few songs including Puff the Magic Dragon and Morningtown Ride. If you want to hear a real singer from the sixties and still singing then look up The Seekers with lead singer Judith Durham.
Yes!! Judith Durham, what a voice, and harmonized so well with the seekers, definitely a singer worth checking out!
+1 for Judith Durham. One of the best female voices ever - and completely distinctive. You can pick her voice in a couple of notes. Another humble Aussie legend
Hi mate. Guy was our first Australian Idol in 2003. Before that he was singing in a church in Adelaide on a few of their albums with his brothers too! I love him as a person and an artist
Guy Sebastian, yes he was the very first Australian Idol winner but he's definitely earnt his way into the music world. He has shown all of those people who told him he wouldn't get far that they knew NOTHING. Such a beautiful soul he his.
He won Australian Idol but then in later years ended up as a judge on the voice. Guy shined before he even went on Aus Idol show and seems to have remained humble along the way...
He’s awesome and so is his brother man you gotta hear his voice too, his bro won the voice Guy won Aus idol, that song the quote was singing was about a very close friend who took his own life, also he is one tough cookie, one night as he was working in a studio doing some recording his wife who I think was pregnant with their first child rang him to tell him there was a burglar in the house, he rode home at a rate of knots and got there before the police and spear tackled the guy rugby style and pinned him to the ground til the po po arrived, a lot to like about this man I tell ya
Absolutely love this, love Guy and this is typical of his good personality to do this sort of thing. He has started a children’s charity a long time ago and gives back. Love him and his voice.
Thanks so much for responding to my request!! You're the best!
Guy is a true talent… absolutely amazing.
Bro,my wife and i cracked up laughing when you said you felt like one of the kids. Cause she got chills aswell
HE IS AMAZING, how incredible for these school kids, shaping our next generation of stars 🌟
The song "Choir" was inspired by and dedicated to Guy's good friend and former band member Luke Liang, who sadly took his own life in 2018. Here's Guy's live version from the 2019 Australian ARIA awards: czcams.com/video/ZN1iw_Ml08A/video.html
2nd that
That exact school after this surprised Guy. Him and his family went the the movies but it was a set up. He was sitting there before the movie started eating popcorn and all of a sudden one by one kids started coming in singing his song. Guy didn’t know what the heck to do. Priceless.
It sounds like such a happy song but I cry when I hear it just because I know why the song was made🤧 wish more artists were like Guy ☺️ also just so you know, I’ve been spamming your reaction of black and gold😂😂
He won Australian idol like 20 years ago. He's a judge on the voice now lol he's huge here
Amazing such young children so affected just by the music. Thankyou
Those darling little children in tears at that beautiful song. Gets me in the guts, and brings me to tears.
Love your reactions and Guy Sebastian is a great artist!!! I would love to see you react to some of Guy's songs from his "The Memphis Album". It is his cover album of Memphis soul songs and he worked with some classic artists in the US on this album! Great listening. Love your work ❤
This performence shows how fantastic singer he really is. Just a little piano in the background and his amazing vocals .
He was 1 of the judges on the voice as well as x factor and he was 1st winner of Australian idol ❤❤❤❤love love love THIS little USO (USO means brother in our Samoan language )
Guy's voice really is amazing. I'm feeling somewhat envious of those little kids 😅 We never had anyone famous visit our school - unless you count Queen Elizabeth driving past one rainy day on her 1977 Australian tour 😅 We waited for ages in our raincoats. Our mothers even came up to see her too. A different era!
We had Rolf Harris visit. As a kid it was the best thing ever - early 70s at the time. Sadly with all we know now my memories are tarnished. 😢😢
I work in a school and I'm glad we haven't had a famous singer, our sound setup is terrible and would ruin the track :P
I remember my Mum dragging me and my little sister into Melbourne's cbd in 1970 and we were told to wave little Australia flags and all we saw was a Rolls Royce fly by with a white gloved hand doing circles out the window.
Hes amazing as always I still think his best proformance is him singing Standing with you he sang on the voice also him and johnny singing together on the voice
What a human he is 🥰
This song always makes me cry... love..love...love😥😥❤
Choir is an amazing song. Every kids choir in the country learns it now.
That made me cry too. He won Australian Idol, he’s a judge on The Voice, his brother Chris won The Voice last year
He won the very first Australian Idol - he's a judge on The Voice.
Children in Australia wear school uniforms. No problems with kids out dressing each other, they are all dressed the same 👍👏
Great song that
🎉Guy can sing and write anything with so much emotion❤
Nick, one of your best reactions (I love that you sing along!) and now I understand what happened to the Voice performance (hate the blockety blocks!). The song the choir were singing was "Choir" which was a huge hit in Australia and won him song of the year at the Aria's (our Grammy's). ❤️
PS Sorry about your tooth and the dry socket....that is incredibly painful and you are doing a remarkable job reacting at the same time as experiencing tooth pain 😳
The emotion and reaction from the kids is priceless...how can you not be moved by this song?
The POWER of music and interpretation of lyrics...its a raw feel/groove thing 🙏🔨🥁
Do choir live at the ARIA Awards it won song of the year in Australia. It’s a song he wrote about a friend and band member who sadly took his own life. Guy didn’t want to write a morbid song, it is an amazing song
If you want to see this performance Nina Schofield reacts to it on her channel. She was worried they would block it but they didn't. Guy shows his great range in this song. Just brilliant.
One day Guy will be a household name ! And i can't wait x
Checkout Guy in a TV programme called The Studio. He sings a song written by a woman's deceased son. The Producer said he only knew one singer who could sing the song and Guy's performance is other worldly... don't miss it.
Yo bro, do not sleep on this. The song is amazing and the composition is not of this planet. Guy did a phenomenal job to bring the song to life which had never been heard, let alone performed.
It profoundly moving. Tears do not usually come easy for me at all, and I was sobbing like a little bitch. You owe it to yourself to check it out, video or not.
You should listen to when he sang the prayer with a contestant from the voice. It’s amazing and is slept on. (MUST SEE)
This song was the last song my 22 yr old brother added to his Spotify before he passed away . We played it at his funeral and I have some of the lyrics as part of my tribute tatoo for my bro . 💔
So sorry :(
Hi Shane! This is a bit late! I’m so sorry for your loss! I cried when I read your comment! We played Amazing Grace at my mum’s funeral fifteen years ago and when I hear it, tears drip down my face! Than you! Peace and Blessings to you and your family!
Guy is going to walk from Wagga Wagga to Sydney (500km give or take) to try to raise 1mill for mental health...bow to the legend!
Wow so touching
He's such a poet!
Have you seen the video of the school kids payback when they surprise Guy Sebastion at the Cinema. Guy Sebastion cinema surprise the look on his face is priceless.
Guy won Australian Idol back about 2003. He is currently a judge on The Voice in Australia (and was previously a judge on X Factor in Australia).
This makes me cry. I feel like one of those kids too 😂😢
Guy won Australian idol and is a coach on The Voice but his brother Chris Sebastian did win the The Voice Australia in 2020 and you should defo check him out also.
no he won the very first Australian Idol. He is a judge on The Voice.
First of all, you are one of my favorite reactors and there is always so much passion for music that shines through and you yourself is talented also.
I love Guy too, but my favorite part of this entire video is when you called out the kids for coming out flat in the beginning!
Nick, thank you so much. I love that you are showcasing Aussie singers and I love the way you are so involved in the experience. This is a beautiful song and the first time I have heard it💖💖 Thanks again xx
He won Australia idol in 2003 that's when Shannon Noel was runners up but he also was a judge for Australian x factor and the voice
I’ve only had a couple of favourite songs in my 58 years and this is top of my list. It reminds me of my sister who passed from cancer 2 years ago. I can never listen to it without bawling my eyes out. God gave Guy a beautiful gift, I just pray we can still hear music and sing songs in Heaven. God bless. Beautiful reaction x 🌹🙏🏽🇦🇺
Join the choir kids! You might meet Guy Sebastian!
Amazing 😉
We are so blessed with our musicians in Australia👌… past and present… this was outstanding ‼️
Wasn't he a music teacher before he went on Idol? That would have been a fun step back in time for him 😃
Yep... love Guy, his voice penetrates my soul ❣️
Guy Sebastian is extraordinary. Man I'm loving your channel. As an Aussie of 80s music I'm loving your journey of discovery.
I look forward every day to your reviews. What a great guy you are. Loves music so much!
Thank you so much 🙏🏾
Thank you for rediscovering Guy Sebastian for me, I didn't follow his career. I stopped listening to radio and TV in favour of spending time with friends online.
He won idol and is and is coach on the Voice Australia
I'm so sorry about your tooth. That dry socket I think you're experiencing, can be so painful. So take care of it. Salt water should help.
This school visit of Guy's is one of my favorites. Always has me crying as well 😢😊 So heartfelt.
He came from Australian Idol actually. Won the first season.
Awesome ✌️🍷
These two are my absolute favourites of Guy’s. He is simply sublime!
Thanks that was great.
St Joan of Arc Primary School in Haberfield ! Thats my Primary school - Kindergarten 1967 until 4th Grade 1971. Guy wasn't born back then but John Farnham was, but we didn't get a visit
Thanks for exploring so many Australian artists. Been binge watching a few of your videos. Lol! Keep up the great reactions.
I cant understand why he's not bigger in the U.S. Guy is the most successful artist in australia. Five number 1's and all albums are multi platinum. Choir won song of the year. In the U.S. the best he's done is number 70 on the charts with Battle Scars. Thats a Crime!!!
Do you think he may have the same philosophy as John Farnham. There were so many opportunities for JF to go to the U.S. but he wanted to stay in Australia and didn't want to cause any upheaval to his family. It was different in the days of the Bee Gees when there was no way of conveying their music to the UK or USA unless they got on a boat, left Australia and went on to make it big firstly in the UK and then the USA.
