ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Today, the Secretary-General addressed, via video conference, the Artificial Intelligence Summit that is ongoing in Seoul, in the Republic of Korea.
He said that Artificial Intelligence systems are still being deployed with little oversight and little accountability and he warned that we cannot sleepwalk into a dystopian future, where the power of AI is controlled by a few people, or worse, by opaque algorithms beyond human understanding.
The Secretary-General called for universal guardrails and said the Summit of the Future that he will convene in September is an opportunity to build the foundations of Artificial Intelligence governance.
OCCUPIED PALESTINIAN TERRITORY
In Gaza, UNRWA [UN Relief and Works Agency] reports that today, the agency’s distribution centre, as well as the World Food Programme’s warehouse - both in Rafah - are now inaccessible due to ongoing military operation.
UNRWA says that its health centres have not received any medical supplies in the past 10 days. Despite this, health-care staff continue to provide thousands of medical consultations each day at health centres that are still operational.
Meanwhile, the head of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, expressed deep concern over the safety of patients and hospital staff remaining at Al Awda Hospital in northern Gaza. In a social media post, he said the facility has been under siege since Sunday, with no one allowed to leave or enter.

On January 30, in 1948, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was killed with three point-blank shots in the chest, while he was going to the garden of the Birla House in New Delhi, for prayer. Philosopher, politician and lawyer, he was one of the most prominent representative figures, prestige and human and spiritual depth of the 20th century, still considered an ideal point of reference today. Commonly called with the honorary name of "Mahatma" (great soul) he was the inspirer of mass civil disobedience founded on "non-violence" which led India to independence, and inspired civil rights movements and great personalities such as Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela. They've tried that before and there were bad experiences. You could find them if you looked back at past UN video's. Also, I think it's still mostly Egypt now who is not allowing Aid to enter Gaza. They've been blocking Aid to go in ever since Israel started military operations in the east of Rafah. Israel has reported to have found 70 tunnels there, still investigating were they all lead to, there will be those who go into Egypt. Exact information not revealed yet.

"Occupied Palestinian Territory". The wording itself is a disgrace for an organisation which pretends to solve conflicts and not to fire them up.
The United Nations have to allow Ukraine a long standing member of the UN to attack the Russian missiles being supplied by North Korea in Russia. Neither Russia nor North Korea are members of the UN and yet the UN refuses to allow Ukraine to hit these in Russia. This has to change. It as to change yesterday.
I am new to engaging with these meetings and engage as a public citizen wanting to learn more about the issues the world faces. Can someone please explain to me the tensions which are expressed from the spokesperson, Stephane toward the questions being presented to him? I don't fully understand why it seems like the questions are an annoyance and antongizing him. It is difficult to discern whether he is a. personally frustrated with many of the questions, b. he is just hungry c. if he just doesn't have answers for them beyond what he is allowed to say or d. he truly feels he answered many questions and is annoyed that he has to spell things out more in some cases.
