- On this SPECIAL edition of GO BIG OR GO HOME!-we stripped off the regular tint on this car & replaced it with Ceramic Tint.
Brought in from a competitor, the current tint was poorly installed and not good AT ALL!
Customer was not very happy, we were not very happy, so we used CERAMIC TINT to replace. Now?
YUUUUGE difference! In fact, buyer beware: tinting your car with ceramic might cause hypothermia (jk no it doesn't). But it will block a TON of heat and keep your car cooler in the SCORCHING, RELENTLESS, BRUTAL, FIERY Houston HEAT of Texas!
Go Ceramic or Go Home!

do you have any place in Los Angeles area?
@@rossr3027 what brand of tint do you have?
also why does a brand like 3m cost like $700-$900 and other brands such as suntek or solar guard are massively cheaper?
@@neubauerjoseph patents and brand perhaps?
Steve Chen yeah I got a quote one shop was $700 and there was $2,000 for 3m they said oh it’really nice.
I just bury my car in the yard, takes a while, but man does it stay cool.

@@andrethomas356 the guy I spoke to at the shop tried to upsell me on that. I refused it.
For all we know some of these places are just selling regular window tint at a premium price.
Ceramic tint is expensive, but it really does work. If you're used to driving a car with it, you'll immediately notice a huge difference when you drive or ride in a car that doesn't. And the benefits are two-fold, as it protects your skin and also the interior. The dash and leather on my 2013 Ford Fusion still looks and feels like new. But make sure you get it from a legit shop. Mine came with a lifetime warranty, so if it ever starts to bubble or crack, I get it replaced for free.
I never knew this was even a thing. I'm glad I learned this before I got regular tint.
It’s a fairly new thing and tint game is changing but yet people still buy the cheap standard tint or the carbon that is an extra $50-$90 added more from regular tint.
@@Ray00069 the real test is 2 ply 5% mirroed tint vs ceramic. I feel like dark mirrored 2 ply tint would win because it reflects heat and the sun instead of absorbing it
You can go with carbon tint as well blocks allot of UV and heat and is little less expensive. I've been using carbon on my vehicles for over five years now
This is an excellent way to demonstrate the relative difference between tints. It doesn't matter if the heat lamp was an inch further or closer away from the window between the two tests, what matters is the relative difference between the tints. The ceramic tint was ten times better than the conventional tint. That is a massive difference and moving it one inch further or closer away probably only changed it to be 9.99999999999999999 times better, which is just not possible to feel, so effectively this test/demonstration was done properly. Thank you!
Billy Bob finally someone who gets it
Thank you! I hope this becomes the top comment. I can tell you know your stuff!
you would be right except you can see they switch the heat lamp to lower intensity around 1:49 or so... Which I can almost guarantee they did when shining it through the ceramic tint. if it was only the distance it wouldn't be a big difference but its the intensity of the heat coming out of the lamp coupled with the distance.. "I can tell you know your stuff!" Sounds like a typical salesman kissing ass.
Hey Texas tint masters how about you make a REAL video showing the actual difference between the tints? show us your using the same settings on the lamp for the same duration of time etc, same distance, etc and stop acting like the people calling your bullshit video are haters???
Ya man this kid seriously killed it with this vid. He’s gotta be killing it in the tint world.
They forgot to mention the price
That's where most people lose their interest in tinting windows
I didn’t realize there were so many ceramic tint haters out there. It’s the way to go. Find a good professional shop with good reviews. Professional shops that offer name brand tint often come with warranties. So many ppl just want that cheap ish and they get cheap results. Ceramic tint drastically cut down heat in my car and will be on every car I get from here on out.
East Coast Young Gun because it just isnt worth the money. Most people get tint just to keep the glare of the sun out therea no way any tint will literally cook ur car down. I'm 100% fine with my 3m color stable for $165 installed on 5 windows.
11onejay It’s worth it to me. It may very well be worth it to others, but not all. I notice the difference and it’s enough of a difference to warrant the extra coin in my opinion.
I’ve concluded that it comes down to this; if all ya care about is reducing sun glare and the look of a darker window then I agree that the standard tint is the more valuable option. However if heat is a concern then I highly recommend ceramic tint.
Todd m I’m sort sad that a shop that offered LLUMAR ceramic tint would of cost me $169 versus that 300.. but they told me they couldn’t do my car since it’s over 15 years old their computer doesn’t go that far back. What a bummer. Smh.
That's a weird reason to not do it. If they have good techs, they should be able to hand cut it the way it was done before the Computer-Cut system was invented. Try somewhere else.
Thanks for the info. I’ve seen the clear ceramic film offered and just thought well that’s for people who want 100% light. I never even thought about the benefit of adding clear ceramic to film to the windshield.
I have the ceramic tint...Makes a very notable difference...My interior is all black but this tint is a life saver in Texas. I love it and it looks great on my truck.
What brand do you use ?
How much it cost you man?
That ceramic tint might make a slight difference when driving with the ac on...but if you leave a car parked all day(like at work)regular or ceramic tint won't make a difference being the heat will have reached it peak inside...especially in Texas parked more than 2 hrs no difference
I just got a new car with leather seats living in arizona. Ceramic tint sounds like a must, glad I saw this video beforehand.
Had the ceramic put all the way around today
Came out perfect feels so much better
This guy is the TintMaster ✌️✌️✌️✌️
How much did you pay?
👉🏻Right how much it cost or it didn't happen 🤣😂💀
@@scottl3739 I was just quoted about $515 for ceramic and $285 for 3M
@@klanks21 400-600 for a coupe with the XR+ top tier film. It will cost more if you already have tint since it needs to be removed.
Coherent, on point, sufficiently detailed video. Thank you guys! This video answered all of my questions at once.
I got fx tint and at first I paid 220 for my t-tops and driver/passenger window 5% . I never got my windows tinted before so I though it was pretty pricey. However watching how careful and patient you have to be I changed my mind. Still feel some heat but it was mostly for privacy and some protection for the leather interior. Looks good, feels good👍🏻
Thank You for the great video and information. I was looking for reflective tape when I stumbled across your video. I decided to watch it. You explained everything straight to the point. easy to understand. I am SO GLAD that I did watch your great video.Again Thank You.
I really enjoyed this video. One tiny observation; Is the light further away from the glass when testing the ceramic tint? The side by sides look different. I'd like to see a measuring tape if possible.
Lol yep 😂 didn't think about it during the install since we were on a time constraint and had to meet a deadline. Our newer videos have the meter marked so that it's an even test before/after. Good observation!
I noticed that too! I was like, wait a minute! Hold up! Flag on the play!!
@@TexasTintMasters Thanks for the follow up.
Hahaha its pointed down also
yes .... you can cleary see it when they have the two comparison shots next to each other close to the end at 3:12 infact the light is not even in the frame with the ceramic tint lol.
2:54 and 3:13 lol joke comparison test.
I had Viper ceramic tint installed, they no longer make it.
I do feel a small difference while driving with ac blasting but that's it, it doesn't keep inside of car cooler while parked outside like I was told, way over priced imo also.
I can support this about ceramic tint. Here in Illinois the legal limit is 35% VLT all around. I ended up getting Huper Optik Ceramic 40% VLT just to stay on the safe side of legal. It makes a huge difference. There are days I can just drive with the windows up and only fresh air in the car, no A/C and be comfortable. Combine this with a sunshade for the hottest days while parked and the car stays very nice with just the sunroof cracked.
What's the price difference between basic privacy tint and heat blocking ceramic tint? Is it double the price? I feel like 50% would be real nice
Wow I had no idea ceramic tint did that! That was so informative, thank you so much for posting!
Randy Green calm down pimp
What's the typical cost for tinting with ceramic coating film for a Model 3 for example?
Do you cover the back of the roof glass?
I called around and seems like none of the interns in my area do ceramic. One even told me he doesn’t do it because it interferes with your cell and radio signals! That was the reason ceramics came about to solve that problem which metal based films had. I have a 2000 BMW 528i (E39) and let me tell you I wish this thing had a UV blocking tint installed before I got it. Every piece of trim in this car snaps and Preakness if you just look at it. If you want to preserve the interior of your car for years to come I’d say tinting with ceramic is a must.
I've gotten ceramic film on my last 3 vehicles, a bit more pricy but well worth the price in this Houston heat..
Which is better at blocking the sun's blinding glare - dark tint film or polarized window film and can the two be used together?
In the video it looked like the front ceramic tinted window was blocking more heat than the window in the back. Is there a reason for that?
Thanks for the demonstration, Perfect 👌🏽
Can you measure the temperature with a regular thermostat?
Fantastic videos. Explains it simply, thorough, understandable examples.
Always good to see the heat test and a meter.
Wish I was in Texas so I could give you my business…because I really appreciate this video! I came here to try to decide if I should pay the extra $ to get ceramic tint and your demonstration with the heat lamp definitely sold me! I had read ceramic was better at heat reduction inside the vehicle but I didn’t realize just how much of a difference it makes! Thanks
Great video!!! Thanks for sharing the knowledge!!! ☮️🖖🏽
if I got my car tinted with 3MM and I want to get the cermanic tint; will it cost additional to what it would cost to install the cermanic film.
Awesome demo. Gracias Mano...
notice the distance of the light,it is not the same with the one that they are promoting..should be done on actual heat coming from the sun
He almost fool me
The ceramic tinting does work very well.
Whether it's an inch closer an inch apart of the overall difference is shown
hey carlos! any chance you remember what watt heat bulb you were using? I’m gonna test what these guys just did on my car, I think they upsold me ceramic but gave me the regular garbage! thx 🙏🏼
Great video didn’t know that there different tints I know what I’m getting now on alll my trucks where are you guys located?
Great info. I only get ceramic on the last 4 vehicles I've owned. HUGE Difference!!!!
How much time will last both of the methods under the Texan sun?
And how will it last compared to original car manufacturer’s tint?
Great job showing with an actual heat lamp. That shows how the tint works better than just saying it works.
Hello. Enjoy your content. Very informative.
I have a few questions, if you can answer that be great :)
So the rear side windows was it a ceramic 5% tint?
Also the front side windows was it a normal ceramic tint?
You mention that you also do a full ceramic coating tint on the front windshield and is that a regular tint?
Thanks
If you’re about to make a decision to go for ceramic tint or nah, choose ceramic. Just had mine done and made a HUGE difference especially here in Australia. My car AC is thanking me heaps
I 2nd this, just had tinting done at 24% and it's horrible, the amount of heat still getting let into the car. Just booked in for 15% ceramic tint, and front windscreen done. Hopefully done before our hot summer rolls in.
Well your car wont burn up but your wallet will!
Great information, thanks for the video! I made up my mind
I wish you guys had a Dallas shop. I live in Tulsa and would so make the trip to have you guys redo my tint.
What brand ceramic tint are you using?
So I had my vehicles windows done in ceramic, but I don’t think they truly put a ceramic film on. What’s the best way I can determine if they did or not? Thanks
Ok holding the heat lamp above the frame of the video with the ceramic tint and holding the heatlamp pointed directly at the meter in the video frame with the "competitors tint" you can clearly see there is a difference of where you're holding the heatlamp versus the meter
Exactly what I was gonna say lmaoooo
In Arizona I want a light tint for viewing from the outside. 35% ceramic is something I would like can that work?
One new sub for every time the word competitor comes up lol
How can I tell if I actually have ceramic tint and not regular tint? I have not way to contrast the temp in the car now vs. what it was before the tint. Is there a simple way a novice without the special heat indicating film can do to test for ceramic tint? (Just checking up on my installer)
I am curious, what brand of tint did you use???
2018 camery SE 2B Tinted 9/7/18. What Percentage would you go with? currently w/ @ 20%.
Is there a way to know if ceramic tint was installed instead of the cheaper stuff when picking up the vehicle from the tint shop?
NightShades Ceramic film will have a bluish hue when you look at it at a certain angle (it's natural color). Usually we'll show the customer a live performance test when they buy ceramic tint.

Nice job!!! I didn't know they even made a ceramic tint, but I know that's what I need to get, I wish you had a Missouri location, lol...awesome job though👍
Just had the ceramic done on my car in New York.

Yes but I have no problem seeing out day or night. My car is white and from the outside the windows look almost blacked out.

Not sure because it was almost 10 months ago.

@@lambjack1 thanks bro
Who would you recommend in Fresno can.
I will look into ceramic for my wife’s van.
It also looks like the heat lamp was at a further distance and angle from the ceramic tint compared to how it was positioned for the regular tint. The lamp temperature, distance and angle has to be constant for this to be accurate. Also any ambient temps and airflow differences must be noted.
LordDeadSpider my wife left me
Bahzad23 you should've gotten her that ceramic tint when she asked for it!
The Master You are the best salesman of the year.555
I agree also would have been nice to get a base number with no tint between the light and the meter to make sure it was at the same intensity. seems like it does something but a lil more consistency would have made for a better test
Expect to pay over 400
What is your take on LLumar CTX from a scale of 1 to 10 what would you rate it, im in california got the Ctx 5% on my 5 windows on my 2018 civic sedan 2 weeks ago was that a good choice for the heat or did i mess up?...
Just got ceramic on my Elantra. Not sure if its working yet. I should have measured the temp inside a few times before having it installed. People need to ge sure to take into account the cars OEM tint when deciding what tint to get. My car has about 75 VLT. I went with 40 VLT on all glass except the windshield. With the factory tint my glass looks very dark, probably illegal.
Is there anyway to find out if my tint was actually ceramic without having an installer remove it?
A polarized effect would be a dead giveaway but it's pretty subtle in the right lighting conditions. I also remember wearing a certain type of sunglasses and could see the polarized tint effect from inside and outside the car. Another way is to take a heat lamp on the exterior of the window and have a heat meter on the interior. If its really ceramic then then reading on the heat meter should be significantly less than the heat lamp.
JZX Kenny dont have a heat lamp however i DO see polarized effect when I’m wearing polarized sunglasses inside my car. You’re saying if i see this effect, then I do in fact have ceramic tint? I paid next to nothing for my mustang to get tinted and other places charged almost 3x that much for ceramic... so i was sure if I had authentic ceramic or not.
So the only difference between the 2 is internal temperature?
What is the cost difference of ceramic & warranty? Really considering this. Thanks
Can you get clear ceramic tint for the windshield just for the heat rejection it should offer? I would think the windshield due to it's size and angle would be one of the biggest areas of heat penetration?
I want to know this too. So I can add it to the front windshield without impeding the visibility.
great video. 30% tint can get you pulled over depending on the cop and depending on the state. i have 2 shades of regular tint on my drivers side window. i have 5% & 30% over it, its pretty dark, but still feel the heat. i need to upgrade to ceramic tint for sure.
Class A_818 Why would you tint your front windows so dark? Not very good at night.
Or safe...
Different states different laws
That cop has to really have nothing better to do to pull someone over for 30%
What brands of ceramic tint do you use
just got ceramic tint. feels like my a/c works twice as good now, where as before it would take a long time for my car to hit that cool level or never really get cool enough.
Indrid Cold sorry that’s my other account, but I got “limo” blacked out on back windows and 35% on the front windows and 50% on the windshield. But from what I understand even the clear tint (70%) blocks a good amount of heat
Does the ceramic really ABSORB the heat? Wouldn't it rather reflect it...?
I have 5% on my 2004 Optima in FL. It's 5 years old and the rear window has a sticky film on it that won't wipe off.
Might get this ceramic tint; never heard of it till today.
My AC compressor and other components have a lifetime warranty, and I've used it once already. Tint is awesome but if I ever had to choose, I'd rather have AC.
And I pay a ticket about 1x per year for my tint. $130
I Wonder if It’ll work if I apply the ceramic coating made for paint onto my windows
Only 1 way to findout
How long does the ceramic tint last?
Just decided to get this after watching. I thought the tech was up charging me. Thanks, for clearing any confusion up.
Man great video. I'll drive all the way over from Florida. Thanks bud
What brand of ceramic tint are you using?
On my last 2 cars with ceramic tint, when wearing polarized sunglasses it wacked out the colors outside, white cars looked pink, and flowers were psychedelic. With my current ceramic tint that's not happening. Is this a sign that I didn't get ceramic, or could it be a different type?
thank you for your knowledge !
You're welcome! We didn't think this video was going to get this kind of attention. We've published more videos on Ceramic Tint on our channel that goes more in depth. Check them out!
Great video. Question. How do u know if the tint shop scams u and they put regular tint when they charged for ceramic?
khyoon14 Interesting question, I got mine recently too a couple weeks back. I would like to know how also?
I bought an IR bulb and socket from Petsmart and held it next to the window I wanted to test. You can confirm if you got ceramic if you can barely feel the heat coming through the window.
Just keep the receipt so you can get a refund for the lamp after you finish.
Where can I buy the ceramic tint by the roll
Why was the 35% ceramic lower than the limo tint ceramic with the heat lamp?
What brand should I look for. I live near Chicago.
how does the ceramic tint compare to v-kool?
Does ceramic tint give a better clarity or its better to reducing heat only?
I Have ceramic tint and have to say it looks cloudy at different angles with sun
Not as clear as traditional tint
Can i put regular tint 1st and then ceramic tint
Is Crystalline tint ceramic?
You need to clarify. The darker the tint )conventional( doesn’t mean it blocks hear. The only thing darker tint dose is add privacy. So conventional tint regardless of percentage is only privacy 50% blocks the same as 5%.
I want to visit you from California. Great job fellas.
Anyone know where i can get this from in nyc?
At least in measuring the heat time , keep the torch in same place with both tint materials. 😄
Any California locations?
thanks for this A/B. I'm gonna have my Cadillac done with ceramic tint.
Oh, well I'm going to have my skyscraper in Manhattan done.
What’s better a clear ceramic or a dark ceramic is there a difference? Should make a video on that Sir thank you for the video
Which ceramic do you use? Suntek CIR? 3M Crystalline? Is LLumar/formula one film even good?
I had suntek CXP a year ago. That made a pretty big world of difference. the 80% VLT tint (40% heat rejection) film you could still feel. But the 60% heat rejection film was a blessing. Both reduced so much glare like sunglasses I couldn't believe it.
Does your ceramic Suntek have a greenish hue to it?
Is cermaic tint front clear ?
Now I know. Super informative.
Great explanation brother

You read 80 on the back & 40 on the front with ceramic tint, isn't supposed to be the opposite since the back door is darker? 🤔🤨🤔
What's the Average Cost, More or less to do two front door windows with Ceramic tint. A general ballpark figure? Looking to have this done. Thanks for your honest reply.
I need a very dark tint or a good decent dark tint from the outside but that can be very visible from inside out, any suggestions? I can drive using very dark tints from inside but my problem is my brother uses my car sometimes and he has vision problems and cant drive with dark tints.
This is a bit of a stretch but metallic films offer good privacy on the outside with excellent clarity on the inside. However, you're going to have a tough time finding someone that stocks metallic films for cars and getting by with the law. We stacked a Stainless Steel Tint (for the reflective privacy) with Ceramic Tint and it looks phenomenal. Standing outside, you can't see in. But it has excellent clarity from the inside out. We will be producing a video on this sometime soon so stay tuned!
Thank you so much for such an informative video. 👍🏼
