@@lawless8723 I got my first wheel like 2-3 months ago, i can almost finish every stage i start, i do sometimes have huge crashes, but most of the time i'm actually pretty good and competetive, it's really weird
love the game, probably only realistic rally game my computer can run decently too

My favorite part of this game, every time I play or see it, is those little dudes running out of the way when I come tearing through - lol - I wish DR2/WRC would add more crowd silliness.
Yes, you and me both. We.get animals in the road, and broken down cars. I wish we had more unexpected moment options. Also the crowd doesn't react even if you plow into them, though your co driver Does react in wrc 10
when the RBR game launched people would do that, right now when you go to a rally you have the police and the marshalls, thats why i dont think they should add that
@@hugocorreia8039 Then make the crowd run out if you're in classic cars (pre 2000s), makes it a pretty authentic experience!
@@McMullet97 why do this if this is just a racing game, it wont change nothing you are there to do the best time , and if they are there in one gameplay you wouldnt even notice them anymore

I was a games tester on RBR and played it every day for many hours over many months and it was hard even when playing it as a full-time job.
Not to be an asshole but do you have any proof of that you could post or something? Not doubting you just really curious about the game in its baby steps 20 years ago

RBR really does prove just how little any of the modern gaming things matter. Almost 2 decades old and it outdoes practically everything on the market for it's corner of the genre to this day.

I know this is an old comment, but I feel like the only game that has a chance of competing with RBR after a few updates is Beamng, it just needs better FFB and Tire physics
Dude please, your comment is cringe. RBR the base game is severely outdated, it is modders that kept it alive, specially the work of WorkerBee who made the physics mod NGP for rbr.

I love this game so much. Just started playing two months ago and I'm so happy because it runs more or less flawlessly on my mediocre, non-gaming laptop.

You unlocked a part of my memories! I remember that I was like 7 or 8 y/o playing this game with a very basic steering wheel and all that I cared about was driving on the snow, not understanding the pacenotes.
When you go through the training scenarios you see right away how well the game reproduces understeer, oversteer under the 3 different surfaces just in the wheel alone. It's really well done. Ton of effort, 16 YEARS ago too!

I really have to try RBR don’t I? I’m a bit obsessed with DR2 at the moment so I guess I need to try it. Edit: if you’re feeling up to it Jimmer, I would love to see some online rally streams. GPLaps have been doing them and I have been really enjoying them.
Do it! I took a long time to give it a try but it is just so much more realistic then DR2. It is not as smooth and polished tho! The mods are easy to install but sometimes you need to tweak a few things. If this puts you off, then you better dont try it! :)
Try if for the stages and physics, not for the visual part.

Mate download the rbrhu plugin best one to get a bunch of stages from a lot of countries a bunch of cars please try it
Definitely give it a try, it is 100% worthed. Also if you mind the graphics, download a reshade. You would be suprised how much better the physics are compared to dr2.

I am in the US, so I had to order this from the UK. I built my first race sim setup for this game. Logitech MOMO wheel and a rig built from 2x4 and Plywood. Used an old VW Rabbit (Mk1 Golf for those outside the US) seat. It was awesome!
Nothing like spending the first ten seconds on the starting line to kick things of. We love you Jimmer.
Getting good at RBR has made every sim iv played since then seem easy. I started with a controller then played a lot with a wheel. Such a good game!

RSRBR2013 has some incredible tracks! More unique road conditions than I think any other game I've played, details like ruts and potholes and random rocks sticking out of the mud, it's awesome

Its cool to see how Jimmy fairs what i tend to do. but with a wheel instead of a controller!
Oh, wow, didn't know Jimmy too feels RBR that is the most satisfying. It is by far my most enjoyable game bar none. It's basically like mastering RUNNING on tightrope, you know the risk and still you're going flat out near the edge of control and grip.
Running the old Audi Quatro from Group B/A took me weeks to finally feel comfortable going through a single RBR course. RBR is simply the best for rally.
Jimmer definitely do these RBR vids in VR, it does make it (slightly) more manageable
Love this game, gotta play it again. Played the modded RBR online, it started with a few weeks of DNF's then I started to drive slower and then I had few weeks of top 500 and I then I just improved my pace from that till I got to top 20.
you're exaclty describing my experience in DR2 ahahah, at first it was really hard because I had no clue about how to drive, abou the corners etc... Then I started to finish some stages and I'm actually at the step where I can perform, like I'm usually in top 1000/500 in stages and I must have to admit, DR2 is a very good sim and game and I realy love rally, so being able to make it in the World Top 500 is something very cool and it was worth the pain
Just got back to modded RBR since playing the original as a kid. I love DR2 but RBR is just something else, really feels like you are driving the car.
Back then i played with keyboard and remember struggling to get through the Basic rally school.
Richard Burns rally was awesome. A real work out too with force feedback.
Holy shit jimmy you got a gc8 I brought back my 93 wrx with a closed deck type ra motor back from Japan I drove the breaks off it when I was stationed out there but it sooo cool to see people geek out over it

I love rbr I don’t know why but sending rally cars is so much fun even if you crash you crash in a spectacular way it’s super fun unlike spinning an f1 car on a track, that’s super frustrating

Awesome video. I love rally sims. I have been wanting to see you play RBR. I'm a dirt rally 2.0 and WRC 10 player, but if I had a gaming pc I would love to give RBR a go
Regular pc will do, even a laptop
Im very biased on dirt rally 1 & 2 but ive experienced the satisfaction of when you get the hang of it. I turn all assists off besides co pilot, only assist i use is the auto clutch for controller. Sometimes abs and particularly on paved road courses. Im not the best and i know how sometimes just getting into it youve gotta go slow forst before you go fast. Then when im ready get my subaru that loves to be driven with the phrase in mind, when in doubt flat out. Im sure it fits other cars pretty well too, but just my experience if you go slow then you have to go really slow. Feels like the car is always trying to finish the last turn you made. Its like youre constantly overcorrecting but thats just the surfaces youre driving on making you lose traction.
I need to get on this. Seen so many good things about it.

I remember playing it on hardest difficultly and winning a rally in it. On the last stage in 1 of the last sectors I put it on 2 wheels and went into the spectators. End of rally. Ots unbelievable how difficult it is but love the game so much.

My absolute favorite Rally sim of all time! :)
One thing I'm not keen on mods outside of RSRBR is that they are mostly MP focused. Any SP stuff is really limited. Plus, I don't know about this particular plugin, but often with new cars you need to source the sounds and liveries yourself. Might as well just install custom cars and not worry about mod packs.
Not gotten around to trying this one, wheel is in storage and I lack the motivation to get it set up.

Hey Jommy! you should play my summer car, a survival game, with a really good rally race, I recommend using a save since making the satsuma into a rally car takes a lot of time

Hundrends upon hundreds of hours on RBR, and I've only ever gotten decent on three tracks
Meaning I could only finish three tracks at decent times without sereous damage...
So difficult, but so rewarding once you get it right
