- Well the official numbers are out! 2024 C8 Corvette E-Rays MPG figures. Kind of surprised and shocked and hope real world numbers are different. Lets break it all down in todays day-night double header video.
We also see an increase in Stingray MPG!

Eh I’m not getting the Eray much less any Corvette for mpg. I want the Eray for the new tech.
Hard to be disapointed in the Eray mpg. The car weighs more, has wider tires, wider body work, and has more drag. Mo way it was ever going to get better mpg. It's a performance e motor, not an economy addition. I'm amazed it only dropped 1 mpg really.
Thats a very good point. I guess I was just hopeful they had an eco mode that gave us some long range HWY cruising bump.

Great video with lots of background and relevant information. Personally I am not disappointed in the new MPG figures for it is a W I D E bodied car with really B I G tires. And with 655 HP and massive torque, I think its now officially rated mileage is good. Thanks for sharing all this! SUBSCRIBED!

Please explain why an aero package on the Z06 increases MPG? Will same be true with aero on an ERAY?
The aero creates more drag and down force making the car act weighted down when in motion at higher speeds. This reduces mpg. E-Ray shouldn't have this issue as it does t offer the Z07 package style aero on it.
You must not have gotten the memo. This is a performance car that uses its electric motor as a catapult for acceleration , but the motor is still there. The LT2 is a serious HIGH PERFORMANCE engine. There are advantages to a overhead valve high performance engine but they gulp fuel. The electric motor fills the torque gaps ony.
That’s not bad at all. Compare it to the supercharged v8 from the c7 z06, same power figures, I was averaging 9mpg on my c7 z06 but I was also enjoying the car every day lol heavy foot. But my c8 stingray I was averaging 14mpg again heavy foot enjoying every mile of it. So it’s a big improvement over the previous z06 having similar power. And a major improvement over the previous grand sport, power wise and still keeping the same mpg.
I can tell you from experience that the Stingray does much better than 24-25 mpg on the highway.
Agreed. I am disappointed in the official MPG. And yes I am the unicorn who was interested in upgrading my '22 SR Z51 3LT to get better mileage.
OK who buys a sports car for its mpg rating, NOBODY,and if you thinking about that u think Ferrari Lamborghini Konig. Jaguars they don't have those thing's, makes no damage sense

All of the videos in CZcams about this vette that vetre are a joke,,,,, you can't even buy a vette anywhere, why talk about em if you can't get one.
Stingrays have flooded the market and are now selling for below MSRP used and if you search can find new below MSRP. Eray aren't to market and Z06 are in the situation you describe. GM poorly manages their allocation process creating this mess for customers.
@@JumpSquadAuto this is what is going on,,, car makers today want you to "order" a car, they do not want excess cars sitting on a car dealerships lot, that means money they spent making cars just sitting there, so at end of year if they made 3000 cars only 2000cars sold now they have 1000 cars they have to discount to get rid of for new year models. The days of you going to a dealership and picking from multiple cars is over. They don't want that.
@@pryerpalm10103 kind of. They have dealers with 10+ years of wait lists for a Z06 but are sending tons of cars to known price gouging dealers who let them sit on their lot with huge markups. The whole car market with EVs is moving to the model you mention which is the Tesla model. Built to orders.

Electric....yuck.
I think this is the best layout for electric tech. Its not a plug in and regenerative electric assist. Great performance benefits without having to find a plug. I would mostly say yuck to electric too but the E-Ray gets a big exception.

It's a mild hybrid which is the best way for this to unfold. Very much could be the best overall Corvette ever.
