I don't see it as a like-for-like comparison. The Hilux is a pickup and the rear, when empty, weighs close to nothing hence it has a hard time to get a grip on slippery surface. The BMW is an SUV and it perhaps should be compared with RAV4, Highlander or Land Cruiser.

Nice demo, the only thing to mention is the video title (4x4 Systems), that an AWD system not a 4X4....
They're not doing themselves any favours, testing like that.
Looks impressive if you know nothing about 4x4 transmissions. But their x-Drive system actually is very good, really does put the power down. The limitation of the BMWs is ground clerance, angles etcc.

Irelevant... why they didn't took Landcruiser. Hilux has no weight at rear and it cant go like BMW...
actualy it can go up quiat easily, just aply rear diff lock, and use accelerator. diff lock is basic equip in hilux all have them.
