My dad was in WWII under Patton, told me many heart wrenching stories of his time, my son was in Iraq -took over the Bagdad airport and held it, told me what he saw and lived. I feel sad now that I had a high draft number and was never called to Vietnam, knowing that I would likely not come back home alive, and knowing how unpopular the war was, and how the Vets were treated. I am proud of all Vets past present and future.

As a retired US Army veteran of 2 wars... I remember Lee Greenwood singing his song "God Bless the USA" before and during Operations Desert Shield/Storm while deployed. Toby sang his song during the war on terror and it hit me hard as well. It brought back some memories of how much sacrifice servicemen and women have to go thru. But how much more their spouse will have to endure not knowing if their loved one will come home or if they have PTSD. War never determines who is wrong or right, but who is left to go back home. R.I.P Toby. You served dutifully supporting your nations troops. Thank you, Toby, for your support.🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🇺🇲🪖

One thin that is undeniable is Toby's love for American, The Veterans and the Military. His father lost his right eye in a war and after coming back home, Dad PROUDLY flew the American in his yard. He did things for the Vets then any of us "regular people" will NEVER know about, on top of what he did that is public knowledge. I hope he made it to Heaven, I truly do!

This song says everything perfect about what we service members and Vet's think about on a daily basis. As a Vet with 12 years of service in the U.S. Army and very proud to have done so for every American. Not one us want's to die but we will make that sacrifice. What this song also tells is the sacrifice and hardships that our family members have to endure while we are deployed. In a way the family's endure even more hardships not only having to deal with taking care of the family alone but then add in the extra stress of worrying and wondering if their loved one will make it back home

You hit the nail on the head Phil. I see videos of the mad respect given to the fallen US soldiers(rightfully deserved), but I feel like the living vets are overlooked and not given nearly the amount of respect they deserve. As a 32 year military spouse, my young son and I stood behind that fence quite a lot. My second husband , a 24 year Retired US Army Veteran suddenly passed away unexpectedly on 2/14/21 in his sleep, I went to wake him from his nap to go have Valentine’s Dinner and he had passed in his sleep! He was only 53 and were just 6 weeks short of our 15th Wedding Anniversary! It still feels like yesterday to me! He was a huge any, especially dog lover so our 5 dogs we had when Roger passed saved me from doing the stupid act of “ going with him “ He was my world, my peace, my everything and I feel like I going through this world being held back by industrial sized rubber bands! Everything is moving so slow and if I didn’t have God in my life I would definitely be with Roger right now! I lost our home and was homeless for about 5 to 6 months last summer, I got a small 1 bedroom place I share with my brother for now it’s a roof over my head but not exactly the best area to be!! All I can do is pray and try to keep moving forward! I have 3 dogs now my little chihuahuas

Another amazing song is one he did for his friend Wayman Tisdale, who also passed from Cancer. It is called 'Cryin for me, Wayman's song' & his words about how he feels about his friend, perfectly describe all us fans right now & our feelings for Toby. Beautiful song & video & with the Saxaphone, it has a cool jazz vibe. ~ And Toby has totally serious ballads, that still have funny videos. Perfect example, 'It's a little too late'. Toby never minded being the butt of the joke.

Love this phrase, 'I'm a political stand' sometimes so true.

Toby's dad was in the Army and served during the Korean war so he knew what is was like having a father who is a soldier. There are some other good songs you should check out the 8th of November by Big & Rich and Semper Fi by Trace Adkins and also Arlington by Trace Adkins and till the last shots fired by Trace Adkins..

Great Reaction Video Folks , I am a Disabled Vietnam Veteran, My Dad fought in WWII & my Grandfather fought in WWI , I really didn't want to go BUT i wanted my Daughter & Future Grandkids to be able to live in the same America i grew up in & went & fought for Mom ,Apple pie & my Wife , But it funny when you get there & in your first firefight you find out your fighting for the Brother on your left , right & behind you & in the Military the only Color there is , is OD Green & We all bled the OD Green , Not White or Black or Red or Yellow BUT OD Green & We were truly Brothers , Thank you for your support of our Military & Veterans , War's change BUT the Heart of the Soldier hasn't since 1776 , Over 1 Million 600.000 Men & Women have fallen for Freedom & We owe our Fallen Hero's much more than we can pay back , A Disabled Marine Lt. once said , Support isn't about the War , ITS ABOUT THE WARRIOR , as in my War you can HATE the War , BUT don't hate the Warrior for fighting what he country sent him to do , Hand Salute from a Tired OLD Veteran God Bless you & the USA

This song hits especially hard to me. I have never made it through without tears. My family both sides have fought for the USA since before there was a USA. Having a member of my moms family in the English-French war. That ended in the Gulf War, which I would have been in, but 3 days before I was heading to basic, I was hit in a hit and run. Sadly my bike went one was and I went under the car where I was rolled/dragged about 4 blocks. It took me a year to learn to walk again. The Navy said no thanks... I had wanted to be a Navy Seal since I was 9..

Check out Trace Adkins 'Till the Last Shots Fired' and 'Arlington' both are great patriotic songs. I almost forgot 'Still a Soldier' by Trace as well

You would be hard pressed to find an artist more patriotic than Toby Keith. Thank you both for reacting to some of his best. He also had a great sense of humor as you've seen in some of his songs. Check out another one in Toby Keith's "I Wanna Talk About Me!" and a more serious side with his "Who's That Man?"

Another music great who gave a voice to soldiers, is Billy Joel with Goodnight Saigon. Vietnam vets in his life told him their experiences, & he put that into song. Another EXTREMELY powerful song
