- In this episode, I'll show you a recent purchase - a neglected BMW E36 Touring! With over 350,000 km on the odometer, this beater car raises some serious questions. Was it a wise investment, or have I stumbled upon another automotive nightmare?
Join me as I uncover the truth behind this weathered wagon beauty. I'll show you it's condition, from mechanical woes to cosmetic imperfections. Is this E36 Touring salvageable, or am I facing some serious trouble?
But fear not, fellow enthusiasts, I wont back down from a challenge. The goal is to transform this neglected relic into a decent daily driver that turns heads on the road. Or at least the E36 fans heads. Can I breathe new life into this aging machine, or will it prove to be too much for me to handle?
This video will not be as detailed as E30 restoration series. Specially when we're working on the engine bay area, it is extremely difficult to get good shots from the tight areas of the engine bay.
Stay tuned! Will the BMW E36 Touring emerge as a success story, or will it remain a cautionary example of a car you should not invest your money in? There's only one way to find out!

I bought a E36 318i wagon, also in black about 2 weeks ago and I cant belive Im seeing this video with a practically identical car as mine, mine is also quite a beater, has a welded diff, interior is also quite a mess, some pieces in the back are missing or just broken plastics, just drove it past 313k km mark. Excited to see the progress on this antique.
I’ve come to a conclusion that maybe all of these cars are in this shape :)
@@kureirodoprod Yeh, my classmate has bought pretty much a similar car like mine and yours, but its a 1.6, also was in a rough shape but he got it to a fresh look.
That oil on the floor in the end of the video.. i'd guess its from the oil filter housing, it's a really common oil leak spot.
You guessed!
@@kureirodoprod i did! did i get it right though? :D
Continue!! I have recetly aquired a grey e36 318i touring myself. Its a 97 and I looove that old thing. How much did you pay for yours?
So we are sharing the same destiny. I've been driving the car for a few weeks now and it does have character :) the car cost me 2 grand. Unfortunately the prices have gone up lately.
@@kureirodoprod it sure does hehe. Yeah, the prices are a bit ridiculous now, but hey, possible investment to the future right? :D surely it will be 10k in 10 years.... yes yes
