    In this video we discuss why Chelsea's defence has been so poor... The stats are pretty bad...
    52 goals conceded this season in 30 games more than last season in total
    7 games in a row conceding two or more including Sheffield, Bunley, Leicester, Leeds
    Worst defence since 1990-91 season 69 in 38 matches
    We look into Chelsea's Tactics to see who's the blame. Is it
    - The midfield with Gallagher pushing to high to form a 4-2-4
    - The lack of a defensive partnership in centre back
    - Wingbacks being far too high
    - Set pieces
    - Or Poch's inability to time subs
    We also look into the injuries so far this season to players like Colwill and Fofana as well as the full backs to see if that's made a meaningful impact...
    Finally we run through a few transfer options for us to consider, inclduing:
    - Diomande
    - Todibo
    - Guehi
    - And a free agent wildcard for La Liga!

    Great video and analysis. I'd like to hear both of your thoughts in a future video on Nkunku's best fitting position in this team. 10, left wing, forward?

    • @liamharrowell6117
      @liamharrowell6117 Před měsícem

      I thibk a mix of 10 and left wing could be good. I feel forward wouldn't suit his creativity enough and I've watched a decent amount of DD fofana at Burnley and although he hasn't scored a great amount he's still doing well and has much better movement than jackson and seems like more of a natural striker, he's always in good positions trying to get onto the end of balls and I feel with better chances that Chelsea would provide he could be quite good, he's also still young so has lots more to improve on. I also love seeing carney at the 10 and tbh I'd like him there going forward provided injuries are fine. obviously nkunku could also play there to let mudryk get gane time but I would definitely rather nkunku on the left, mudryk seems decent and sometimes has glimpses of talent, however he seems very isolated and at times feels like we're playing with one less player. nkunku would be a lot more involved in the game, always calling for the ball, good technically and has very good link up play, while still being clinical infront of goal. therefore I feel our best front 4 for next season provided we don't go out and spend 100M+ on a striker(feel it would do us some good to not have as heavy spending as recently normal), would be
      rw - palmer
      cam - carney
      lw - nkunku
      St- fofana

    If you want a defensive free transfer then Sergio Ramos is available. Probably the best centreback to have ever played the game. Serial winner. Someone to harden up all the weaklings in the dressing room.

    Awesome watch, as always!!!
    I would add that the inability to see out games stems from the fact that even when we are 2 goals up, the emphasis seems to be looking to make vertical, line breaking passes and taking risks. I do not understand why Pochettino keeps persisting with high risk high reward style when we are ahead. Surely, when leading by 2 goals, the priority should be to slow down the game, pass it around and make opponents work, tire them and find holes which will appear when they tire or get impatient.
    Pochettino is stuck in his ways of 5 years ago. The premier league has moved on, and if you play like that these days, you will get punished.

      I think the young players we have brought are good players, we need 3/4 proven quality players who are leaders as well it would add so much to this team to guide the players , injury’s have crippled up this season which hasn’t helped either . We desperately need a strong solid number 6 as well like a paulinha from Fulham who sits and protects the back 4 as we are too open in transition which we need to fix

    • @arglc
      @arglc Před měsícem +2

      @andrewchard1628 Buying leaders of that quality is easier said than done. They are scarce and will cost a ton. A good manager should be able to carve leaders out of players like Enzo, Palmer, James, Colwil etc.

    • @andrewchard1628
      @andrewchard1628 Před měsícem

      @@arglc I agree, they would cost a lot but we got ourselves into this bad situation but overpaying for unproven players, spending over £200mill on enzo and caicedo is criminal so if we had the money to spend on quality leaders like a kimmich not saying he would come but that type of player we are crying out for, I would of taken a Jordan Henderson as well to install some mentality in these players, he would train properly and show leadership for a season . But we will stock pile more young players this summer definitely

    The injuries are bizarre, Ugochukwu went out on Christmas Eve, 6 week recovery, almost 5 months later and he is nowhere to be seen. Levi went out weeks ago with a toe injury, it's like he's been abducted, Nkunku has a hamstring injury, at this rate I don't see him playing again this season, Lavia played 30 minutes and he is done. It's maddening. We saw Van de Ven pull up with a big hamstring injury when we played Spurs, he has been back for ages now. What are our physios DOING to the players?!

    I think Poch is just a mismatch for our squad. We spent 200m on two players that are perfect for controlling the midfield and they are being wasted playing this Basketball style transitional football.
    I think someone like De Zerbi would be better with pur squad but I don't like his personality.
    Conte would love this squad if we were to play a back 3. Amorim as well.
    Personally I think Thiago Motta would be a good fit. I like his philosophy and he is all about controlling the ball.

    Diego Moreira is the only player in our squad who can replicate Gusto on the left as a left wing-back, in a 3-5-2 formation. Diego Moreira has the attacking and defensive skills plus he is a better crosser and shooter of the ball than Gusto.
    This should be the personnel who would make a 352 formation, if we decide to till the end of the season, in my opinion:
    Jackson. Palmer.
    Moreira. Carney. Enzo. Gusto.
    Caicedo.
    Colwill. Silva. Badiashile.
    Petrovic.

      caicedo is not a holding midfielder, he's a box to box, play him where carney is and when James comes back he will sit in front the defence

    • @goodies7813
      @goodies7813 Před měsícem +1

      @@mikefun7482 I know, also assuming James might not be fully fit before the season ends, but if James gets fit before the end of the season, then yes he should play as a DM. As for Caicedo, I see him in the Barella role, same as Casadei too, both would be good box to box, but to be honest, I would like to see Angelo in midfield as well, he brings creativity, physicality in midfield. My ideal midfield 3 would be: Angelo, Enzo and James, next season.

    With all due respect I may be wrong here in the stats but from what I’ve seen ciacedo on the ball has given away the ball so many times in the 30 yard range and given away some goals too
    Gallagher as been far better on the ball than ciacedo

  • @alternativeperspective5635
    @alternativeperspective5635 Před měsícem +2

    The modern defence is four tall defenders. Chelsea lacks height and muscle at the back post.
    And we lack athleticism in midfield. Gallagher is not good enough.
    And a more potent strike force.
    Apart from that Cole Palmer is good.

    Neither Poch and his staff nor the players absolutely have no clue what is defensive line mean. Poch as football manager is a joke I believe all his credentials on paper is a fake to. Working with team 10 months he failed to establish a working team. I don’t believe that manager with his rank even if you are taking in consideration all those circumstances around the club and team, we still to be the same without progress.

  • @robertpttt9790
    @robertpttt9790 Před měsícem +1

    I still have faith that it could all work under Poch, based on what he has shown throughout this season.
    He has instilled the players with confidence in possession, leading to more creative play and has improved the attacking capabilities of most of our young players.
    If he gets the players that enable us to beat low blocks, whether through returning players or signings (e.g. a target man striker), he could switch back to the possession football we played at the start of the season, which suits most of our squad more than constant transition football.
    The key thing is if he can coach an effective press and aerial confidence within our current players (willingness to fight for headers) then that could solve most of Chelsea’s defensive problems and make us a great young team with tons of potential

  • @wesleymichael9636
    @wesleymichael9636 Před měsícem

    It’s not rocket science…. Dortmund and Bayern Munich are calling us to ask “What’s Maatsen release clause” (so if they see something… WHY DONT WE!!??
    Gusto needs to STAY at RB! Maatsen needs to be our 1# LB (I love Chilwell to bits… but he cannot play in a back 4!! (Nor can Thiago Silva)
    So RB n LB sorted… Gusto n Maatsen!!
    CB I would play Reece there and Colwill as our 2 CB starters…. (Dasasi and Badieshiele are both 🤡)
    Then the next problem is…. Caicedo is not good enough… and the board are telling Poch “You can’t drop Caicedo cos then his price will drop from £105M to £30-40M
    I’ve said this for AGES!! “PLAY ENZO IN A 4-3-3 AND LET HIM SIT IN THE MIDDLE JUST LIKE HE DOES FOR HIS COUNTRY!! (Jesus Christ, Poch is Argentinian so I guess he watch’s their games? ITS HIS COUNTRY!! SO WHY HE DONT SEE IT AND PLAY HIM THERE!!??? (he don’t cos he scared the board will sack him cos than it will be confirmation that Caicedo was a waste of money)

    • @mikefun7482

      caicedo is good, he's not a holding midfielder, he's a box to box, put a player behind him and he'll be at his best. you always complain about the situations caicedo gets put in but it's the tactic that leaves him isolated in the middle and teams just overload the midfield and play around him, we need a holding midfielder, not a 10, when Lavia or James comes back play them behind the midfield
