- Join us today for an exclusive walkaround of our recently acquired 2017 Ford Transit Custom, a salvage (Cat N) vehicle from Copart auctions. We managed to snag it for a mere £5000 and have ambitious plans to breathe new life into it for a promising resale. In this video, you'll witness the challenges we face, with severely damaged side panels and two doors in need of replacement. We are contemplating repairing the extensive scratch on the other side, addressing a minor leak, and ensuring it gets a new tyre.

Fairplay, nice to see young lads like this going out and trying there hand at this type of business
Thanks mate, we’ve been doing for a while now and we really enjoy it!
Great vlog, you’ve just acquired a new subscriber, that will turn out excellent when you’ve fixed it, just a note me being fussy when you renew the oil, oil filter, air filter, pollen filter, also do the anti freeze, brake fluid, fuel filter and the transmission fluid as this tends to be forgotten sometimes plus I use wd40 electrical contact cleaner for the maf sensor clean and other electrical connections, good luck and happy new year to you chaps, kind regards,Mark from Billericay 😃👍
Thanks you for subscribing and I’ll keep that in mind when we service the van 😊
You brought a nail 😂
It’s not the prettiest van 😂
it looks like its had a fair old dunt down the side, but everythings fixable, just needs a good bit of bodywork. good luck with it, did you sel the polo etc
Thanks and the engine on the polo blow up, so need to change it for a new one, or sell it as spare and repair!
How you check the oil and water if you didn't know how to open the bonnet.... before you started engine
My transporter checked before starting the van!
That T shirt was there because it’s possibly been overheating looking at the stains on the expansion tank. So the cap has been removed when hot, hence the T shirt to protect the drivers hands.
The Timing Belt plus wet belt will need changing. You’ll need to replace the front timing cover as well
Good luck with this, but I’m very surprised it’s only a cat N with that side panel and wheel well damage!
Yeah we are too, definitely thought is should be a cat S but these days the insurance company just ask for photos, instead of actually coming to look at the damage, that why it’s probably a cat N. And how often do the wet belts need replacing? Thanks 😊
@@restoringsalvage Ford suggest 144,000 but I wouldn’t wait, they are prone to going sooner, and it if goes, the turbo goes in seconds, the engine not long after! (Yes I found out the hard and expensive way….)
Just budget to get it done - it will be a good selling point as well.
Ideal mate thanks for the information, I’ll definitely look into 🙏
Roughly how much is delivery for how far? Looking at getting one and wondering if it’s more for a van?
I pay £2 a mile, just text several company see what they are offering!
How did you remove the warning, parking assit service needed
It's still there, it just went away then came back, I will sort it out tho after I've serviced the van!
It's a pity you are not in kent I have wheels and tyres for that .if its a 2 litre get that belt done.😅😅😅😅
I’ve got the tyre sorted now, just need the spare as it’s missing!
@@restoringsalvage I don't get how the wheels are going to make the parking assit service needed alert to come up
No I believe that is to do with the parking sensors, as one of the wires is broken, ones we fix that it should be gone hopefully 🙏
Any update on this yet ?
It’s in the body shop at the moment had some big issues with the cat n title!
Decent price should turn out nicely. Best of luck
Thank you 🙏
hold accelerator and brake fully down turn key on wait 15 seconds and the oil reminder will go away
Thanks, I’ll make sure todo this after I’ve service the van 🙏
You are doing these things up and you don’t have a tyre inflator?😢
I do, that’s how I pumped the tyre up?
@@restoringsalvage why did you have to wait until your mate got there?
Because we are working on it together, so was waiting to show him the issues!
